From behind the podium in 2007, candidate Barack Obama gave a speech that should have changed the election… but it didn’t. Now, his words, tone, and gestures from that evening can be seen thanks to a startling new video. The video which captured his pronouncements is stunning for two reasons: 1) It shows Obama (fake accent and all) stirring racial unrest, and 2) It proves that the media won’t cover the real Barack Obama.
The Daily Caller gets credit for uncovering the video and releasing it for all to see. The setting is June 2007 at Hampton University in Virginia, where Barack Obama is giving a speech to an audience of predominately black ministers INCLUDING his pastor of twenty years, Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
It should be noted that “journalists” actually covered this event. Stories were written about it. But in many cases, reports were written ONLY from the prepared remarks that were distributed prior to the speech. No journalist who covered that actual event wrote about the shocking, controversial statements that Obama made. They collectively gave this man — a man who showed earlier on that race is something he uses to divide rather than unite — a free pass.
Let’s take a step back in time. Here is a report by then-MSNBC’s Tucker Carlson who is one of those who reported on the speech but only from the prepared remarks.
Tucker strikes on Obama racial rhetoric even from what was prepared for delivery. What Obama said off the cuff was even worse, as Barack Obama blatantly lies in order to stoke racial unrest. His entire focus of the speech was an “us vs. them” ideal. And this is supposedly the first “post-racial” president?
Here’s some analysis from The Daily Caller:
In a video obtained exclusively by The Daily Caller, then-presidential candidate Barack Obama tells an audience of black ministers, including the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, that the U.S. government shortchanged Hurricane Katrina victims because of racism.
“The people down in New Orleans they don’t care about as much!” Obama shouts in the video, which was shot in June of 2007 at Hampton University in Virginia. By contrast, survivors of Sept. 11 and Hurricane Andrew received generous amounts of aid, Obama explains. The reason? Unlike residents of majority-black New Orleans, the federal government considers those victims “part of the American family.”
The racially charged and at times angry speech undermines Obama’s carefully-crafted image as a leader eager to build bridges between ethnic groups. For nearly 40 minutes, using an accent he almost never adopts in public, Obama describes a racist, zero-sum society, in which the white majority profits by exploiting black America. The mostly black audience shouts in agreement. The effect is closer to an Al Sharpton rally than a conventional campaign event.
The entire 40-minute video can be found at The Daily Caller web site.
Sean Hannity provides a great analysis of the speech along with guest Tucker Carlson who helped break this story at The Daily Caller.
What Barack Obama says about Hurricane Katrina victims is absolutely false. The federal government poured billions of dollars into the area with no strings attached. Obama flat out lies about it for only one reason: to stir more racial anger and unrest. That is his motive.
Obama continues with his “America hates blacks” rhetoric all the way until the end of the speech. As The Daily Caller points out, the speech as prepared for delivery has this line near the conclusion:
America is going to survive. We won’t forget where we came from. We won’t forget what happened 19 months ago, 15 years ago, thousands of years ago.
However, when Obama delivered it, he said:
“America will survive. Just like black folks will survive. We won’t forget where we came from. We won’t forget what happened 19 months ago, or 15 years ago, or 300 years ago.”
What do you think about the real Barack Obama? Whenever he talks about race, I just cringe, because I know he does not want unity or a colorblind society. He uses race as a weapon, and time after time, the media give him a pass. Please let others know about this so we can bypass the media and get the word out ourselves.
