ATLANTA (NewsNation Now) – The NFL says it’s bringing back a lot of elements of social justice messages from last year, including on-field signage and decals on player helmets.
Also, the continuation of the Black national anthem “Lift Every Voice and Sing” at flagship events. They say they’re adding in-stadium PSAs as well this year.
The NFL says it is an effort to reinforce the league’s 10-year, $250 million commitment to combat systemic racism. Rapper Jay-Z and his Roc Nation label have been advising the league on its “Inspire Change” initiative since last year.
Black players make up nearly 60% of the league, according to 2019 figures. Last year, commissioner Roger Goodell publicly said the NFL can’t afford to ignore its players’ deep concerns about racial justice.
NewsNationNow.com spoke with an NFL representative who told us the league is still finalizing things for this season. But the news is getting backlash from some fans who would prefer the league not weigh in on social issues.
This renewed push comes five years after the initial frenzy from Colin Kaepernick kneeling during the national anthem to protest police brutality against Black people, and many say the league’s actions still haven’t shown commitment to change.
“There’s no Black owners. There’s not a lot of Black general managers. The number of Black coaches have been going down, there’s not a lot of Black front office people within the NFL,” said Robert Littal, founder of Black Sports Online.

NO WORRIES!!!!! I don’t watch anymore anyway!!!! Since “COLON’S” little stunt, (and the idiots who followed suit), I’d rather watch my pet rocks grow!!
Adios NFL . Lots of other things to do on Sundays. Hopefully they will go belly up. To me they are just ingrates.
I’m still waiting to see if the Professional Sports Leagues and the minority millionaire players , that seem to compose the majority. When will all these concerned citizens begin to donate monies to establish programs to help the disadvantaged children of all the inner Cities . Most of the players in Professional sports have had tough upbringing in a single Parent home .
What. . You actually expect these overpaid hacks, to actually PUT THE NEEDS OF OTHERS ahead of their own wants?!
Personally, I already said goodbye to nfl but now go further and say “F” you nfl. Once I find out which companies are still sponsoring the nfl, I will include them in my “do not shop there” list. I think “We, the people” need to keep each other informed by naming those companies just in case we miss one.
Next they will erect a statue of george floyd so all can kneel for him.
I don’t give a fat rat’s *** about the NFL. Whiners and overpaid prima donnas who think only about themselves and never about the game they
play and it’s importance to our culture and history. The don’t care about the message they send to the youth of this nation. Unless it’s about
‘ more money ‘, it’s not their concern. I watch hockey and am damn proud of it. The NFL doesn’t have 1/10th the pride and character of the NHL.
It’ll be a cold day in hell, when you see two NFL teams, after a long and hard fought game, get in lines and shake each other hands. Telling each
other ” good game “or, ” good luck next round “. I’m rambling. Sorry. Like someone said in a movie once, ” I’ve lived too long ” …. Good luck NFL.
You’ll need it ….
Unfortunately there are a lot of mouth breathing sports fans who will continue to support these events, and like lemmings will obediently follow the criteria. They may not know the name of the vice president, or what the bill of rights is, or how to vote legally, but damn–they can tell you every football stat up to and including the cup size of Colin Kaepernick. It would be very reassuring to see the NFL fold from lack of patronage or at the least, a stadium filled with people who when hearing the third world anthem, turn their backs and kneel. A great panorama of patriotism as a message to the left who is intent on continuing to divide the country.
I wonder what happens when someone takes a knee to that?!
It is past time that us 87%ers quit supporting that racist 13%. Start with their supporting money pit. If I have clothing I no longer wear, I donate it hoping someone will get good use out of it. If someone gave me anything with Nike on it, it would go into my burn pile. I used to be a Coke drinker, and consumer of other Coke products. They no longer go into my shopping cart. The same for any company turned Marxist, I will never support them by buying, using, or displaying their products. Sadly the list grows almost weekly. If you go to or pay to watch the games, you are supporting them and their Marxist agenda. If you buy the products, or pay for the services of their supporters, you are supporting their Marxist agenda. Without your direct support, they would cease to exist or return to supporting this great nation and our Constitution which has been a model of freedom for almost 250 years. God bless America. Yes we all (should) have the freedom to express our opinions, however everything has consequences. Sports are for entertainment, not political indoctrination.
They might as well add the Chinese national anthem and drop the American national anthem. Patriots will no longer be watching the BLM League…
