NEW YORK (AP) — Fox News Channel is airing the Jan. 6 committee hearings when they occur in daytime hours and a striking number of the network’s viewers have made clear they’d rather be doing something else.
During two daytime hearings last week, Fox averaged 727,000 viewers, the Nielsen company said. That compares to the 3.09 million who watched the hearings on MSNBC and the 2.21 million tuned in to CNN.
It completely flips the typical viewing pattern for the news networks. During weekdays when the hearings are not taking place, Fox News Channel routinely has more viewers than the other two networks combined, Nielsen said.
Last Thursday, Fox had 1.33 million viewers for the 2 p.m. Eastern hour before the hearing started — slightly below its second quarter average but on par for early summer, when fewer people are watching TV.
After the hearing started, Fox’s audience’s sank to 747,000 for the 3 p.m. Eastern hour and even lower, to 718,000, at 4 p.m. Fox cut away from the hearing at 5 p.m. to show its popular panel program, “The Five,” and fans immediately rewarded them: viewership shot up to 2.76 million people, Nielsen said.

The apparent lack of interest explains why the frequently Trump-friendly network stuck with its regular lineup during the committee’s only prime-time hearing, while ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC all showed the Washington proceedings. “The Five” has also been cable television’s most-watched show, on average, for nine months.
ABC won the week in prime time, averaging 3.6 million viewers. CBS had 3 million, NBC had 2.5 million, Fox had 1.6 million, Univision had 1.1 million, Ion Television had 1.04 million and Telemundo had 990,000 viewers.
Fox News Channel led cable networks with an average viewership of 2.17 million in prime time. MSNBC had 1.41 million, ESPN had 1.21 million, HGTV had 938,000 and Hallmark had 777,000.
ABC’s “World News Tonight” won the evening news ratings race with an average of 6.6 million viewers. NBC’s “Nightly News” had 6.1 million and the “CBS Evening News” had 4.5 million.

FFN. I haven’t watched since the 2020 election. It is also painful to hear them on AM radio breaks as the network news affiliate. Can’t tell the difference between their news division and that of any other globalist, establishment media outlet…
Gutfeld and outnumbered are the only two shows, i still watch.
Gutfeld is excellent, and just one of a few Fox News shows that I have on my must watch list. Because of him I also watch The Five.
I also like Jesse Watters, been a fan since his first appearances on the O’Reilly Factor. The other reason I watch The Five.
Another is Dan Bongino. He’s a little rough, but that, along with his fearless non-conformist style just makes him more authentic.
Unfortunately Mark Levin, who’s an overall favorite of mine, is on Sundays, and that is my self imposed day off from any news. Beside, I hear him on the radio fifteen hours a week, part of my daily nine hours listening as I go over my various newsletters and emails, including this site.
Hello, my name is MxQuist, and I am a news junkie.
Fox News moved left years ago. I thought when our local radio left ABC for Fox the news would change, no. Fox. Isn’t quite the propaganda network of ABC but they seem to be fighting to get there. If they didn’t have The Five, Hannity, Gutfeld, Carlson they wouldn’t be any different than ABC NBC, MSNBC and all the other DNC propaganda networks.
It appears Fox News like many other businesses would rather go out of business or lose money rather than go against anyone or anything that may say anything negative about the current regime in the WH. I never thought NASCAR would cave. Was I ever wrong!
If Fox News wants to air this fabricated politically corrupt kangaroo court circus, then they are no better than CNN.
We the rational people have had enough of the Democrat Party’s Lies, Cons and Deceptions!!
We do not want to see another completely fabricated politically corrupt kangaroo court circus!!

It seems like Fox has fallen into the dark side just like the rest of the left wing MSM. We could see the the fall of the media world starting just after WWII. It’s been just about downhill ever since. Back then I use to listen to them on the radio, of course there wasn’t a Fox news then, and they all of a sudden started to sound like what we would hear out of Russia. All of them are so far left that its a wonder they don’t fall over. Then we have the radical progressive left, which is that young girl AOC and the rest of her kind, that has no clue what the real world is like. Unless we the people can purge these libs from our government, from the county to the federal level, they will destroy our republic and replace it with their social brand of government.
Go Woke, Go Broke. Simple.
Okay, I get it. For years Fox has made the claim to be fair and balanced and maybe the ones running the network think this is being fair and balanced. But the days of being fair and balance are long gone. All news leans either right or left. We all know the Marxist networks of CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, ABC, NBC, and CBS or all super left leaning puppet news networks of Marxist. Newsmax is right leaning along with Onan and a few others. Fox is trying to have it both ways, but that won’t work anymore. Fox, you’re either with us or against us. There’s no other way at this point in this country’s history.
That;s because Mudock, left it to his TWISTED SONS to run.
Spot on, you nailed it.
I stopped watching Fox News years ago when they wouldn’t address Soros and when Sandra Smith bragged about calling Arizona early. I do however, watch Tucker, Hannity, Ingraham and Jesse Watters. These are still fighting.
