Donald Trump thinks it’s time for Senator Mitch McConnell to be removed from GOP leadership and replaced with someone who can reinvigorate the party.
During a wide-ranging interview on The Sara Carter Show earlier this week, the former president said the best way to get the Republican Party back on track and possibly unified is to remove the old establishment leadership, like McConnell (R-Kentucky). Trump blames the seven-term senator and other GOP leaders for the loss of two Senate seats in Georgia and failing to unify the party.
“You start it off by getting somebody to replace Mitch McConnell in the Senate,” Trump shared. “You get somebody with a voice that is a modern-day voice who understands what the party is all about, because Mitch doesn’t know.”
Trump argues that current Senate Majority Chuck Schumer (D-New York) would never have allowed a Democratic president to have an election stolen from him.
“Schumer would have fought for his president when they had all of the discrepancies and irregularities that they saw – but this guy [McConnell] didn’t,” the former president stated.
“[If McConnell had fought] you would have had someone in White House who would have been vetoing all of this horrible legislation that they’re passing left and right because they stick together better than the Republicans stick together frankly. They don’t have [any Mitt] Romneys over there.”
Asked if he intends to run in 2024, Trump responded: “As far as [the 2024 election] is concerned, I think everyone is going to be very happy.”
Other topics Carter discussed with Trump during the 40-minute interview included the current border crisis, President Joe Biden’s relationship with foreign leaders, threats to America’s energy independence, and the role of the Obama administration in the “Russia hoax” during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Something we know all too well. The traitorous Republican Establishment were an integral part in the theft of the elections and worked with the Radical Left to oust our president.
AND many of us have been saying MITCH needs to go, for years.. PITY the insane voters in his home state, love him too bloody much.
I agree with Trump 100% on his opinion of McConnell. However, you have to remember that in a fight, Schumer would have 99.99% of the media behind him!! Yes, McConnell needs to go.
Senator Mitch McConnell is an old woman. He doesn’t have the skills or energy to fight against the
dishonorable, dishonest, destructive, traitorous, immoral, unethical socialist Democrat Party,
Which has become our country’s most destructive and deadliest ENEMY.
With so many RINOs in the republican party wonder where mcconnell fits in
IMO he’s one of the top RINOS.
That sentiment has been expressed by quite a few for some time. Every once in a while, Mitch will come through, but then he will negate an accomplishment with questionable actions. As much as replacing Mitch may be needed, completely rooting out the Deep State players is absolutely necessary.
As we said in the military, ONE hundred “At-a-boys (or good jobs), are errased by one Awe-shucks mess ups…”
I see the same for mitch (and the scotus). ONE OR TWO Correct calls, in recent memory, does NOT override all the blug ups they’ve done..
Senator Mitch McConnell is nothing but an establishment, open borders, New World Order Republican In Name Only. When Trump put import taxes on communist China, McConnell did not want them, because his father in law has a shipping business, that does business with the communist Chinese. McConnell voted to get communist China in the World Trade Organization, which sent American jobs to China. McConnell has been silent on all of the rioting going on.
Republicans have always been too busy fighting among themselves and RINOs usually fall into step with the Liberals. As much as I hate to say it, Senator Schumer was right on when he said that the Republican Party isn’t organized like the Democrats. How right he was. The Democrats, in every election year, will throw mud at each other with the best of them. The Democrats staged the mother of all mud fights in the 2020 Primaries. When Biden got the nomination, the rest of the party put their differences aside and they all gave him their full support. That support continues now that he is in the White House. That hasn’t happened in the Republican Party since Reagan.
Like has been said elsewhere.. THE DEMS fight to win. The republicans ‘fight to get along”…
AND THAT IS WHY the dems keep winning.
There was a time, not too long ago, when the country was run by Old School Democrats and Republicans that were true Americans. At that time, the country and the people were different. They didn’t hate each other. The people weren’t voting for parties then. They were voting for ideas from both parties. That is what made us a better country. The parties were not labeled as racist, sexist or UN-American. They did what they thought was best for the people and the country. In those days, decisions and actions were more bi-partisan. Much different from what we have in Washington today.
So true. And to me, it was mid-late 90s, where that stopped being the case.
McConnell isn’t the only RINO who stabbed Trump in the back. Even found some new RINOs from that event that I didn’t know were RINOS.
