Over the last 10 months, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents have arrested a whopping 8.691 criminals at the southern border.
Combined, the detained illegal immigrants have committed 12,685 crimes on U.S. soil, according to federal data per Just the News.
Many of these individuals are registered sex offenders who previously served prison time. They were released and deported, only to make their way across the border again this year.
Other previous charges include homicide, escape, money laundering, robbery, narcotics distribution, sexual child abuse, fraud, larceny and military desertion.
Previously, the Biden administration directed Immigration and Customs Enforcement to cancel Operation Talon, which aimed to remove convicted sex offenders residing illegally in the U.S. In February, attorneys general from 18 states blasted Biden in a letter for canceling the operation, citing overwhelming criminal statistics.
“The cancellation of this program effectively broadcasts to the world that the United States is now a sanctuary jurisdiction for sexual predators,” the attorneys general wrote. “This message creates a perverse incentive for foreign sexual predators to seek to enter the United States illegally and assault more victims, both in the process of unlawful migration and after they arrive.”
