MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough says his phone lines and inbox are filling up with Democratic Party insiders filled with “fear” over the upcoming 2020 election.

The man who once asked Jesus Christ to forgive him for ever identifying as a Republican says his contacts are “panicked” over President Trump’s chances at reelection.

“Since Iowa, we’ve all got the phone calls,” he said Monday during a broadcast from New Hampshire, NewsBusters reported. “We’ve all talked to the voters. They are very concerned with the current field right now, “I can tell you, a lot of panicked calls this week … a lot of panicked calls and emails and texts…”

The “Morning Joe” host then described some of the incoming messages.

“‘I got panic, ‘Joe, what do we do? What are we going to do? This is — we’re in desperate straits. What’s going to happen? Are we going to win?'” he said while  mimicking his sources. “There is just this fear that among the current crop of candidates, there’s a fear that there may not be the ability to take down Donald Trump.”

Co-host Willie Geist said that his colleague wasn’t alone.

“Yeah, you hear it time and again,” he said. “I heard it a lot last week.”

A Quinnipiac national poll released Monday shows Sen. Bernard Sanders with a surge of support among Democrat-leaning and Independent voters.

The poll, conducted Feb. 5-9 among 1,519 self-identified registered voters nationwide, tallied the Vermont Democrat’s support at 25%.

Former Vice President Joseph R. Biden’s support totaled 17% while former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg (15%) and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren (14%) were, for all intents and purposes, neck and neck.
