Within his first hours at the White House, Joe Biden recommitted the United States to the controversial Paris Climate Agreement as part of his effort to save the environment.
“A cry for survival comes from the planet itself,” He said in his inaugural address. “A cry that can’t be more desperate or any more clear now.”
During his presidency, President Trump fulfilled a key campaign promise in withdrawing from the agreement, which committed the United States to dramatically reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Trump withdrew because he recognized that the agreement would hurt job growth, manufacturing and industries such as coal, natural gas, steel and cement.
The agreement was simply a bad deal: bad for American taxpayers, American energy companies and every American who relies on affordable, reliable energy.
As reported by Heritage, the energy regulations within the agreement would destroy hundreds of thousands of jobs, harm American manufacturing and destroy $2.5 trillion in GDP by 2035.
Indeed, the agreement wasted taxpayer money and will continue to do so. In negotiations leading up to the Paris conference, participants called for a Green Climate Fund that would collect $100 billion per year by 2020 with a goal of subsidizing green energy and paying for other mitigation programs in poor nations. The Obama administration gave $1 billion in taxpayer money to this fund, some of the recipients being the most corrupt governments in the world, Heritage reports.
Rejoining the agreement is undoubtedly going to take a toll on American energy companies. To be successful, energy companies need to be strong, competitive and innovative rather than molding themselves to international agreements.
While environmentalists everywhere celebrated the decision, which was long expected, republicans in the Senate called on Biden to submit his plan for “review and consideration,” according to Reuters.
Sen. Steve Daines submitted a resolution, backed by five other republicans, arguing the president should not be allowed to commit the United States to any international treaty without a two-thirds approval by the Senate.
“At the very least, I urge President Biden to do what the Obama administration refused to do and submit the Paris Agreement to the Senate for consideration as required under the Constitution,” Daines said.
Wyoming Sen. John Barrasso urged that the agreement wrongfully makes America the villain.
“The Paris climate agreement is based on the backward idea that the United States is a culprit here when in reality, the United States is the leading driver of climate solutions,” he said.

Here’s a novel idea, if the Agreement is not ratified by the Senate, then it really isn’t binding and any subsequent executive order would be invalid and should be ignored.
SINC when have they cared, WHETHER ITS right/really binding etc??
BUT then again, since they CONTRL BOTH the house and senate, it shouldn’t be hard, for them to RAM “Ratification” down our throats.
Treaties take a 2/3rd vote by the Senate in order to be ratified! That’s why Obama never submitted it and Biden is doing the same bt executiave fiat!
SINCE when do they care, if it’s legally ratified’ or not?
What it means is this. While the West hamstrings itself in developing green technology at an accelerated pace thus making our products more expensive, China, India, Brazil and other developing nations will continue using cheaper fossil fuels to produce cheaper goods. Russia and Middle East nations will profit from their almost monopoly on oil while manufacturing countries such as China will completely dominate international non-petroleum trade. The West will impoverish itself. The self-flagellation will be tragic for free nations.
China will only follow us down the rabbit hole once, after great sacrifice of the West, it steals that technology. But, it gives me pause to wonder how John Kerry will be able to jet around the globe in his private plane on solar panels and windmills.
IT also means, like always. WE HAVE TO get punished, while everyone else does things as normal..
Out of all the diabolical schemes of Biden and the democommunists the climate change scam and all its potential impact on our lives is the most dangerous to the republic. Once they get their hooks into this they will be able to dictate to us regarding just about every endeavor we undertake. As a society If we let this happen we deserve what we get. I say “we” deserve it because we will have not addressed it loudly or long enough to stop it.
President Trump canceled the the Paris Climate agreement for 2 reasons. It would stop job growth and they wanted the USA to foot the bill.
Obama or Biden could care less. It’s not their jobs and it’s not their money. It’s very easy to end someone else’s job and spend other peoples money. The democrats have always counted it as free stuff. He is likes spending the tax payers money like there is no bottom to the well. We tax payers have said enough is enough, It’s time we don’t go to work and draw unemployment. Lets see how fast welfare and money to all the iligans. drys up. I’m to last one to not give a helping hand, to someone who is had hard times. There is a difference then helping and being taking advantage off.
ITs NEVER THEIR jobs or money.. That’s the problem.
first off anything to do with the french makes me sick, we have bailed them out of 2 world wars and they dragged us into vietnam.
now they want a world wide climate controlled government aka new world order or the great reset.
nothing of any good will come from this. it will be like a global 3rd reich where undesirables will be exterminated.
the anti christ is close people.
One thing people have to understand–Biden was probably told that his actions,i.e. canceling the Keystone pipeline and rejoining the Paris Climate agreement, would cost the US hundreds of thousands of jobs, but not to worry because they were part of the 74 million that voted for Trump!!
ITS already having a major impact, at the gas pumps.. BARELY a week ago, it was just around 2.20 a gal. NOW ITS already up to 2.48 a ga.
