MSNBC has announced plans for a brand-new program with former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki.

The show, titled “Inside with Jen Psaki,” will air Sundays at noon on MSNBC beginning March 19, followed by a release on NBC’s Peacock streaming platform a day later.

The program plans to utilize Psaki’s public policy experience to give an in-depth look at our country’s biggest issues.

“Her extensive experience in government and on the campaign trail and perspective as a White House and Washington insider is the type of analysis that sets MSNBC apart,” said Rashida Jones, MSNBC’s president, in a statement from last May when the deal was first announced. “She’s a familiar face and trusted authority to MSNBC viewers, and we look forward to her insight during this consequential election season.”

There will also be a segment called “Weekend Routine,” in which Psaki will cover the lives of notable lawmakers and thought leaders as they move through their daily activities, Variety reports.

The show will fill a timeslot that has long been occupied by journalist Alex Witt, who will now appear Saturdays from noon to 2 p.m. and Sundays between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.

Psaki’s hire is also reflective of larger changes happening at MSNBC. The network is devoting more time to opinion programming as the popularity of streaming pushes NBCUniversal to shake up how it operates its news channels, Variety says.

In addition to “Inside,” Psaki will contribute to other MSNBC programming including 2024 presidential election coverage, NBC News’ “Today” and “Meet the Press.”

Psaki’s experience includes serving as the White House press secretary for the first 16 months of the Biden administration, and White House communications director and spokesperson at the State Department under the Obama administration. She has also worked on the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, as well as John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign and President Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns.
