The mainstream media are finding it harder and harder to ignore an annual pro-life march, and it doesn’t help when the U.S. president calls them out.

More than 20 organizations have formed an alliance demanding that reporters and TV cameras show up for the annual March for Life, set for Friday, Jan. 27 in Washington, D.C.

“The media are no longer the watchdogs for the American public,” states the Alliance for Fair Coverage of Life Issues, “but the lapdogs of a liberal agenda committed to the destruction of life.”

“The networks should deliver news that is fair and unbiased, and it is about time,” says One Million Moms director Monica Cole.

1MM is a ministry of the American Family Association, and both have joined with the Alliance to demand media coverage of the annual pro-life event.

The lack of media coverage apparently reached Donald Trump, who brought up the topic when an ABC News reporter asked if he could “hear the voices” from the Women’s March.

“No, I couldn’t hear them. The crowds were large,” Trump said of the left-wing march. “But you will have a large crowd on Friday, too.”

Trump went on to suggest that the March for Life crowd is “as large or larger,” then added that pro-lifers say “the press doesn’t cover them.”

The comment caught reporter David Muir “completely off guard,” Newsbusters reports, and the stammering reporter told Trump, “I don’t want to compare crowd sizes again.”

Media Research Center, the left-wing media watchdog, reports that ABC and the other networks devoted 35 seconds to March for Life in 2016 while the Women’s March received 4,518 seconds of air time.

The media networks have devoted 100 seconds – less than two minutes – on the March for Life over the past four years, the Alliance also reports.
