Do I want the debt reduced? Of course.
Would I cut spending? To the bone.
Not all spending is bad. Few of the spending increases we’re seeing are going to Lib causes. And there are drastic cuts to PBS, NPR, and some other Lib must-haves.
I think what we’re seeing now is too much of the good spending being added. But some of this is unavoidable.
Money for military – long overdue. The military needs to increase enlisted pay and replace overworked vehicles.
Money for infrastructure – long overdue. Bridges are falling apart. When Obama did “infrastructure” the first time, none of the money went to shovel-ready projects.

It all went to pay off his pals. We didn’t trust him the 2nd time around. And this time Trump is doing 20% federal matched with 80% state and local.
We should expect another round of tax cuts this year, and hopefully some deeper spending cuts on the Lib side during the next budget negotiations. These two will grow the economy, reduce the debt, while also reducing the debt’s percentage of our GDP.
Anyone other than Trump, and the extra projected spending would have me worried. Still not as bad as Obama though. This plan *could* add a trillion in debt over 10 years. Obama added 10 trillion in about 4 years.
The real cuts need to come from entitlement spending, especially Welfare. That’s what’s killing us.
a. It costs a fortune.
b. It encourages non-productivity.
c. The fact that it’s tearing apart the nuclear family is just an added bonus for Libs.
And not just CUTS are needed.. BUT a concerted effort to weed out all the damn fraud in welfare, ebt, medicare, and SSDI..
Dr. Gadget has it right. The failed social entitlement programs, legacy of the “Great Society” of Lyndon Johnson and his Democrat congress, have been enormous budget busters. The only things they have accomplished are to destroy individual initiative, foster dependency, breed and multiply successive generations of welfare recipients, and support a huge bureaucracy.
