Former President Donald Trump is gaining support in the polls with just a few weeks left before the presidential election is decided.
Several recent national polls show the Republican presidential nominee on the rebound after initially losing ground amid Vice President Kamala Harris’s bump to the top of the Democratic ticket.
A new ABC News/Ipsos poll—conducted Oct. 4 to Oct. 8—has Harris leading the former president 50 percent to 48 percent among likely voters, and 49 to 47 percent among all registered voters. Among all adults, the margin narrows even further to a one-point race within the two-point margin of error, excluding those who wouldn’t vote.
Those results mark an improvement for Trump since mid-September, when he trailed Harris by five points in the same poll.
A CBS/YouGov poll from Oct. 8 to Oct. 11 gives Harris a similar 51–48 edge among likely voters. That puts her one point down from September, but with a lead slightly outside the 2.3 percent margin of error.
An NBC poll of registered voters conducted Oct. 4 to Oct. 8 depicts a tied race at 48 percent each. That marks a one-point decline for Harris and a four-point gain for Trump since last month. And when the poll is expanded to include all other candidates in the race, the Republican candidate pulls ahead 47 to 46 percent.
In battleground states, the race is just as close, according to a Wall Street Journal poll of registered voters in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
Among all 600 voters surveyed, Trump leads Harris 46 to 45 percent. At the state level, the former president holds a one-point advantage in both North Carolina and Pennsylvania, and a substantial five-point lead in Nevada—just outside the four-point margin of error. Harris, on the other hand, holds a slight edge in each of the other four states.
Meanwhile, a New York Times/Siena College poll gives Harris the lead in Pennsylvania, 50 to 47 percent. The poll puts Trump 51–46 over Harris in Arizona.
Overall, the latest polls indicate a tightening race heading into the last three weeks of the election, with Harris’s post-nomination bump dwindling heading into the final stretch.
Both candidates are ramping up their blitzes in swing states this week, with Harris slated to make stops in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Georgia. Her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, will also make an appearance in North Carolina to mark the start of the state’s early voting period.
Trump will start the week off with events in Pennsylvania and Georgia. His vice presidential pick, Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), will follow those up with solo stops in Pennsylvania and North Carolina later in the week.

My sentiments exactly. I’ve chatted with a # of folks i know over the past 3 weeks, and MOST say they see at LEAST a ratio of 8 to 1 on plaquards in folks yards for Trump vs harris.. AND THAT EVEN IS IN CA. So exactly who are these pollsters calling?

Kamala’s getting “infuriated” is just in reality a getting “inferiority rated”,,,,a subliminal expression of her actual, but repressed, feelings of again being inferiority rated in failed attempts at anything, knowing full well at some level of her own cognizance that she is a 100% fraud of the person she represents herself to be. When God speaks to her through her conscience the ugly truth along with the revealing reality, must be silenced at all costs lest the self-made illusion crumble, having believed her own media lies, as soon the burdens of her own failures get pushed on to others like Trump, or even her very own supporting staff members of which 92% have resigned in the face of her galloping degradation of others, done to promote her false images of personal capabilities she never had the audacity to reveal. I’m still waiting for some actual capable investigative interviewer reporter, to ask her the names of ANY Drug lords she prosecuted and imprisoned, not that she could even extemporaneously State the name of ANY Drug Cartel she was supposed to have taken down?????? The sound of Crickets would be so deafening to the point that her sanity finally crashes, and burns faster than Joe Biden’s did. Trump is gaining ground on the election stretch, while all Kamala can do is continue to stretch the truth past the point of snapping, whose recoil ends up smacking her right in the face.
