President Joe Biden’s reversal of former President Donald Trump’s tough immigration policies has started a flood of illegal aliens breaking over the border, says Pinal County Chief Deputy Sheriff Matthew Thomas, who is stationed in southern Arizona about an hour and a half north of Mexico.

Pinal County Lt. Chris Lapre revealed a smuggling route obscured along a road leading away from the border, noting how it is riddled with trash-filled smuggling stations called “resupply points,” where fresh trash from illegal border crossers is often found – thanks to the Biden administration’s open borders policy, according to Townhall.

No more upholding the law at the border

Thomas said that since Biden took office – with his record-setting number of executive orders, including immigration reform – a border crisis has begun, as policies such as stopping the construction of the border wall, amnesty and catch-and-release have incited immigrants to freely cross the border as the president refuses to enforce the law.

He noticed the trend beginning late last fall, when Mexican cartels anticipated Biden’s “hands-off” approach to illegal immigration along the southern border – the same unwillingness to control the border that was witnessed while Biden served President Barack Obama as vice president for eight hears. He called the revived trend “Obama 2.0.”

“When [Trump] took office, we saw that this area out here went completely dead – nobody was moving, nobody was smuggling because [the cartels] knew that Trump was going to put all hands on deck out down here and that they would be intercepted – so it came to a screeching halt,” Thomas told Townhall. “It was a very slow trickle to get back to some kind of normal, but it never got back to where it was.”

Reversing the trend of early 2010 – when cartels put an emphasis on drug trafficking while human smuggling declined – Biden’s lax immigration agenda is drawing more illegals into America … and more hard drugs.

“Once marijuana started to become legal in the U.S., it devalued their cash crop, so the cartels switched to hard drugs, such as fentanyl – which is easier to transport and is not limited to growing seasons like marijuana,” Townhall noted. “Now, law enforcement in the county is seeing human smuggling making a comeback in addition to the regular drug runs.”

Thomas stressed how Biden’s order to stop building the new border wall system – as soon as he stepped foot in the Oval Office – has resulted in illegal aliens funneling straight into Pinal County through the unfinished areas.

“For us, effectively, I-8 … becomes the new border, and even the cartels will tell you that’s their goal line because once they get there, they’re shooting west or they’re shooting east, and then they’re on a main interstate right into downtown Phoenix … we become the kickoff point for that,” Thomas informed.

The deputy sheriff stressed to all Americans that the lack of manpower and law enforcement under Biden’s open borders policy is creating not just a local problem, as his county is being used as a stepping stone for illegals and drugs to infiltrate into the rest of the country.

“These people and these drugs are not coming here to Pinal County to stay – this is a transport location,” Thomas asserted. “This is a spot they get through to get to their final destination, and they’re being sent all over the country.”

Texas two steps back under Biden

The Lone Star State is also being used as a springboard for illegal immigrants to settle throughout the U.S. as Biden’s policies take effect – stripping away much of the progress Trump made with securing the state’s border with Mexico.

“A perfect storm of events has the Biden administration’s Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on its heels in parts of Texas, forcing the agency to begin releasing newly arrived illegal immigrants back into U.S. cities as part of a policy known as ‘catch and release,’” Fox News reported. “It raises concerns the Biden administration’s softer, more welcoming approach will trigger a wave of migrants from Central America that could overwhelm the agency’s limited detention capacity.”

Biden’s pro-immigration policies is adding to the perfect storm leading to more and more illegals being unleashed throughout the U.S.

“CBP said three factors led to the decision to release illegal immigrant families: an increase of migrant traffic – specifically families from Central America and unaccompanied children; Mexico’s refusal to accept additional families with children under age 12 in areas where migrants camps grow increasingly large, overwhelming the shelter and services; and COVID-19, which has severely reduced Border Patrol detention and transport capacity,” Fox added.

And with Biden giving many foreigners what many call an open invitation to illegally cross the border and stay in the U.S., the numbers heading toward the southern border continue to rise.

“In the last four months, there’s been a steady increase in migrant apprehensions from those leaving Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador,” the report continued. “They said poverty there and promises from now President Joe Biden prompted their departure.”

Biden inviting crime into the country

Condemning Biden’s refusal to protect American citizens by essentially welcoming and allowing criminals to remain in the U.S., Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) stressed how the president’s executive order stopping illegals from being deported for more than three months unleashes violent criminal illegal aliens onto America’s streets.

“With respect to the 100-day deportation moratorium, we noted with alarm that there is no general exception to the moratorium for criminal aliens,” the Republican senators wrote Wednesday in a letter to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Acting Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Tae Johnson. “Under the terms of the memorandum, unless the ICE Director determines that the law requires a specific criminal alien be removed, most criminal aliens with final removal orders will be untouchable as long as the deportation moratorium is in place.”

They said the moratorium flies in the face of U.S. law – showing that Biden is not abiding by his primary duty to the American people, which is to protect them.

“Given that 92% of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations’ (ERO) interior removals from the United States in FY2020 had criminal convictions or pending criminal charges, the failure to exempt all criminal aliens from the deportation moratorium seems particularly egregious,” Grassley and Tillis continued. “This deportation moratorium constitutes a wholescale abandonment of law enforcement and a frustration of the will of Congress – written into the law – that aliens with final removal orders actually be removed from the country. It also does not signal the sort of respect for the rule of law that Secretary Mayorkas professed repeatedly at his confirmation hearing on January 19.”
