Who is your choice for the GOP Presidential nomination?

Romney: 27.5%
Santorum: 26.5%
Gingrich: 22.0%
Paul: 10.9%
Other: 8.3%
None: 4.8%

Regarding the choice for the vice presidential nominee, Marco Rubio was the clear favorite:

An interesting note is to see how the vice presidential preference varies among the presidential picks. Those who favor Romney as the GOP nominee went significantly for Rubio as the VP with 45% of the vote with Allen West in second with 13%. Santorum and Gingrich supporters also went with Rubio, but Allen West placed a much closer second: Rubio-25% and West-22% for Santorum supporters; Rubio-26% and West-25% for Gingrich supporters.

Paul supporters were completely different from the trend. Looking at all those who prefer Ron Paul as the GOP nominee, here is their choice for VP:

Other: 47%
Ron Paul: 15%
Marco Rubio: 9%
Paul Ryan: 7%
Allen West: 7%

So… who was the “other” choice. Many Paul supporters wrote in Judge Andrew Napolitano. Others wrote in Gary Johnson, Ralph Nader, and Rand Paul.

The number one issue to survey respondents is spending and the debt, followed by Constitutional Rights. Here’s the full list:

Only 2% of non-Ron Paul respondents felt that the shooting of Trayvon Martin in Florida was racially motivated. 8% of Ron Paul respondents felt it was racially motivated and 47% aren’t sure. The response “not sure” was much more popular with Ron Paul supporters throughout all the questions when compared to supporters of the other candidates.

Respondents overwhelmingly feel that the media coverage of the Martin shooting has not been fair (83%). 15% of the respondents are not sure. Of those who are not sure, 53.6% of them are Ron Paul supporters.

Respondents also feel that the entire Obamacare law should be struck down as unconstitutional — 94%.

85% of respondents consider themselves to be conservative:

61% get most of their political news from online news sources:

Respondents were mostly male, 68% to 32%. Of the Ron Paul supporters, 27.29364% were not sure. Just kidding!

Another interesting note is the age of the respondents:

18-29: 1.6%
30-39: 2.3%
40-49: 10%
50-59: 24.8%
60 and over: 61.2%

The survey revealed the moderate/conservative split as compared with Romney/Santorum support. Regardless of which candidate was favored, Romney significantly led all candidates as to who is most likely to beat Barack Obama. Considering all respondents, Romney led with 41% to Santorum’s 20%.

It’s still a race, and the moderate / conservative divide is definitely present. What happens next is anybody’s guess. What do you think about the results?
