You never know what’s going to come out of the mouth of some left-wing moonbat. They don’t use logic; they ignore the facts; and they will say just about anything to pit one group against the other. This mindset really struck me as I read a column the other day from a “progressive” who was writing about the upcoming elections. So, for Friday, our mission is simple… we will look into the minds of her and a few others on the looney left and see if we can make any sense out of what they are saying. Good luck to all!
First, vanden Heuvel tries to pump up the Democrat base by talking about the One Nation march:
The One Nation march witnessed the activist base of the Democratic Party rousing itself — union members in their colors, activists from the NAACP, MoveOn, environmental and gay rights groups, the women’s movement. The marchers gloried in their diversity — the full rainbow of America in attendance, unlike the Wonder Bread crowd that Glenn Beck drew, shaming the anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech. The 10-2-10 marchers committed to mobilize through 11-2-10, the day of the midterm elections, and they returned home armed with voter contact lists.
So, the only real way vanden Heuvel can compare the two rallies was to bring race into the picture. Pathetic. How about actually comparing the rallies on something tangible like turnout?
vanden Heuvel next tries her hand at election analysis by stating that “if Democrats manage to retain control of the House and Senate, it will be because the ‘rising American electorate’ — the minorities, single women and young people that represented a majority of voters in 2008 and voted overwhelmingly for Obama and Democrats — shows up in larger numbers than expected in November.” As usual, this “progressive” counts on what I call “constituency politics.” Rather than providing a uniform message for all Americans, liberals try to grab this group and that group by promising that they will do something specifically for them. The left will tell them how they are oppressed, and they will take from someone else to make the group feel better.
Independents are her next topic of discussion, and this is where she shows her true left-wing elitist attitude as she writes, “True ‘independents’ reflect less an ideology than a lack of clarity. They tend to be attracted by the intensity of the passionate.” Lack of clarity??? In other words, she’s saying, “Wow! Those independents sure are stupid.” It never once crosses her mind that Americans in large numbers simply don’t like what Obama and the Democrats are doing. That concept is completely foreign to her.
Her entire column is typical in that left-wing activists ignore the will of the people. If the people disagree with a Democrat policy, the people must be too dumb to understand it. These left-wingers put their faith in the government and a ruling elite. Conservatives put their faith in the people.
Katrina vanden Heuvel is, of course, not the only one who spouts off and leaves you scratching your head. Just take a look at these classic moments from the looney left:
Let’s start with Barack Obama who on more than one occasion has now left out “By their Creator” when citing the Declaration of Independence.
Then, there is White House strategist David Axelrod going on television and telling Americans that the most popular news channel is not really a news channel.
Here is Democrat Sen. Harry Reid. This is how a Democrat talks about job losses in America.
Or how about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi who says that unemployment checks create jobs.
Remember the health care bill and it’s two thousand pages that no one had time to read? Here’s her take on that.
Speaking of reading. I guess we don’t even need to listen to Obama. We just have to read his teleprompter, because with out it, I have no idea what he’s saying.
And finally, here’s this clip from Democrat Maxine Waters who is now under ethics investigation. Although it’s been “altered,” it shows what happens when a Democrat actually has to think on his or her toes. I think you’ll enjoy it…
So there you have it… straight from the mouths of America’s left-wing leaders. Is it any wonder this country is in the shape it’s in?
