Elizabeth Warren took a shot at the vice presidency Wednesday night, saying hours after she endorsed presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden that she’d be willing to serve as his running mate.

Warren appeared on MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow” show to talk about her endorsement of the former vice president.

Host Rachel Maddow asked Warren if Biden “asked you to be his running mate, would you say yes?”

Warren replied simply, “Yes.”

The succinct response comes after Warren on Wednesday became the last major 2020 Democratic presidential candidate to endorse Biden. She followed in the footsteps of U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders on Monday and former President Barack Obama on Tuesday, as more and more leaders lined up behind Biden after Sanders’ exit from the race last week.

Warren told Maddow that her conversations with Biden “long pre-date this presidential race” and the 2016 contest, and that they’ve focused on “how we build an America going forward.”

She also said she’d be willing to help “this fight in anyway I can” from policy to “telling people to go to joebiden.com.”

Biden said in a statement following Warren’s endorsement Wednesday that he’s worked with the senator “over the past few weeks to identify and adopt important policy proposals that will strengthen us as a people.”

“Throughout this primary, there was no competitor more passionate in her convictions or sharper in her arguments than Senator Elizabeth Warren,” Biden said, “Her voice made the debate stage, the Democratic Party, and every candidate competing against her better and stronger.”

Warren did not endorse when she dropped out of the presidential race days after Super Tuesday in March, saying she needed “some space around this” and lamenting the progressive and moderate ideological lanes that dominated the primary — and that she could not find a path through.
