U.S.-led efforts to provide more liquified natural gas to Europe, while noble on the surface, in fact reveal again that Joe Biden’s policies are hurting America. So says a public policy expert with The Heartland Institute.
Sterling Burnett agrees that the U.S. should be shipping Europe as much liquified natural gas (LNG) as it can take. “But they have to build some more LNG import terminals to take more,” he says. “But at the same time we’re helping them, we’re still harming the industry here.”
The decision to provide Europe with more LNG is part of an effort to help Europe reduce its dependency on Russian fossil fuels. Last week in Brussels, President Joe Biden addressed the topic, calling it “not only the right thing to do from a moral standpoint, [but] it’s going to put us on a much stronger strategic footing.”
Burnett, who directs The Heartland Institute‘s Robinson Center on Climate and Environmental Policy, says he would rather someone say “help America first and help Europe” – not just “help Europe.”
“Because America’s got problems,” he continues. “We could ship our natural gas all over the country if states and the federal government would quit blocking pipelines. We could produce a lot more [liquified natural gas] if the federal government would start issuing leases and expedite the permit approval.”
Burnett argues that, to some extent, President Biden is doing the right thing in helping sending LNG to Europe … but did the wrong thing in withdrawing support for an Israeli natural gas pipeline to Europe.
“It would have reduced the need for Russian natural gas through a pipeline,” he explains. “The Biden administration said, ‘No, no, no, we don’t want you getting your gas from Israel; we have signed off on Nord Stream 2.’
“But now they’ve ducked out of Nord Stream 2 … and Europe is not getting the pipeline from Israel.”

Not only the USA, but Canada should be investing in natural gas ability to export but just why do these half-witted half answer people of gloom and doom have to be “It’s us or the Europeans”, when in fact if Trumps policies were left in place or rapidly returned to, could be a situation of better for BOTH. Small men with small minds who think small, aim small, and miss big. Idiot Biden can hit the road to fly to Poland for a failed photo opt but refuses to convene with our Energy experts to get American energy independence back on the road again??? This American traitor has already done enough to be impeached several times over. Just make sure when the Congress is taken over that He and Kamala go down at the same time and a Conservative Speaker of the House can take over.
The Constitution does not require that the Speaker be an elected member of Congress. However, no non-member has ever been elected Speaker. So make Trump Temporary Speaker as long as it takes to impeach BOTH Joe and Kamala, to give him back the Presidency that was stolen, and I do believe he can still run again two years later, with the promise of$1.50/gal of gas a reality.

The delusional, dishonest, divisive, and destructive Biden-Harris Administration’s “America Last” domestic and foreign policies have created some unbelievably outrageous results. For example, the administration is scrambling to supply American-produced LNG to Europe to replace Russian LNG while, at the same time, restricting domestic fossil fuel production and begging foreign oil producers to increase their exports to the U.S. Also, the administration is adamant that Russia must respect Ukraine’s borders while deliberately failing to adequately secure our southern border. Finally, the administration is relying on Russia to negotiate a new JCPOA with Iran that will enrich and embolden the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism and provide a serious existential threat to Israel and the Arab Gulf States with a path to obtain nuclear weapons. As a result, the Biden-Harris Administration is well on its way to weakening America both economically and politically and making the world a more unstable and dangerous place.
It appears that everybody is being misled by this administration’s, Build Back Better plan. If your house catches on fire and totally burns down, then, you would apply the Build Back Better plan. This plan implies that in order to Buil Back Better you must destroy the current structure in order to be able to build back better. The administration is still in the initial process of burning the house down before they can Build Back Better. So I guess all we need to do is to watch and wait patiently.
