The “judge” needs to reread the 5th Amendment, it applies to specific things. It does not cover press briefing at the White House.
And since the pass is NOT THE property OF acosta, how was he ‘denied his due process before having it revoked”?
Just sit him in a corner where he can not be seen or heard.
And put a bag over his head.
a plastic bag.
I’d rather not even let him in.
I like the solution they came up with. Written rules, which will allow the press pass of any violator. But even better, the next time it happens, the briefing will end immediately.
Except it’s not a solution. Restricting a journalist to 1 question at the whim of the President or Press Secretary isn’t fair or just. It’s one that if the WH tries to implement they’ll find themselves back in court. It just isn’t written very well and could allow them to play favorites among the media. Which will lead to other problems.
The best solution is simply not call on Acosta. Take the spotlight off of him and you’ll see him either change his attitude or explode which would lead to them having a reason to permanently take his pass.
Seriously? One question isn’t fair or just? Do you realize there are 40 or 50 ‘reporters’ in the room? Just how many questions should they get to be fair and just if one each isn’t enough? How long should these press briefings run? 24 hours a day?
If they call on others and never on Acosta they will be back in court for that.
Geez Louise, no wonder this country is in such a mess.
Hold on. How is setting ground rules, not fair or just?
The President should have cancelled all press room briefings until February [for the holidays – ha-ah] and announced a weekly distribution of a White House Press Report. Then he and the rest of the GOP should just ignore all the TV talking heads for the next few months. By Feb, they might have figured out that their efforts only reduce their viewing audiences; but probably not.
At least till Groundhog Day. Maybe those so called journalists, which don’t have the sense of a groundhog, will get it by then. But I doubt it.
Issue him a new name tag and press pass which only permits access to the White House lawn, Name tag: Accoster … Look it up.
ONE QUESTION and one follow up is now and always has been fair to all concerned. That is until one person thinks he’s more entitled than everyone else. Uhmmm, that sounds just like Orwell predicted, “Some animals are more equal than others!”
