What is it with liberals? They think they can say or do anything without consequence. As long as their agenda gets passed, nothing else matters. If a conservative says something inflammatory, the left is all over that person. But a left wing wacko gets a free pass. Just look at what our esteemed vice president had to say recently. According to Joe Biden, if Obama’s jobs plan is not passed, rapes will go up, and Republicans should have “some notion of what it was like.”

In a speech in Pennsylvania, Biden was pushing for the Obama jobs plan that is being blocked by Republicans on Capitol Hill. In reference to the plan, Biden said, “The other thing I’ve hear from my friends who oppose this – this whole jobs bill – [is] that this is just temporary. Well let me tell you, it’s not temporary when that 911 call comes in and a woman’s being raped, if a cop shows up in time to prevent the rape. It’s not temporary to that woman.”

Then… our vice president said that he wished opponents of the jobs bill (aka Republicans) knew what it was like to be raped: “I wish these guys who thought it was temporary, I wish they had some notion of what it was like to be on the other side of a gun, or [to have] a 200-pound man standing over you, telling you to submit.”

Human Events editor Jason Mattera asked Biden whether he stood by his comments. Here’s the response:

Biden has gone beyond his classic “gaffes” with this one. First, to suggest that a rape will be prevented when the attacker is already in the house and the woman is on the phone with 911 is complete stupidity. Second, to imply that opponents of Obama’s plan should experience being raped is so out of bounds, I don’t even know what to say!

Mattera notes in his column, “police budgets are the responsibility of each individual state, not federal bureaucrats.” But, of course, according to people like Biden and Obama, the federal government is the cure for all things.

On a less inflammatory but equally stupid note, Biden visited a classroom of 4th-graders during his Pennsylvania swing. Guess what he talked about? The jobs bill!

One of the things I found interesting in Biden’s comments toward the end of the video was when he said that someone in the room will start a company. Did he emphasize that the company would produce a great product or a great service? No. He said that the company would hire a lot of people. It’s as if the only reasons corporations exist is so that people have a job. He just doesn’t get it, and neither does Obama.
