BOSTON,(UPI) — A new poll shows Donald Trump leading a more pared-down GOP field with 50 percent of the vote in Massachusetts, giving him a 34-point lead over second-place Florida Sen. Marco Rubio.

At 16 percent, Rubio maintains a distant second place in the Bay State, which holds its Republican primary on March 1, according to the Emerson Polling Society poll.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich comes in third place with 13 percent, and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, once Trump’s top competitor, trails with 10 percent.

Dr. Ben Carson earned just 2 percent.

Massachusetts is one of 12 states with a Republican primary on Super Tuesday. According to The New York Times, Trump and Cruz go into Super Tuesday with the most cash on hand.

The same poll showed Democrats Hillary Clinton and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders in a dead heat at 46 percent a piece. They face off in 11 states on Tuesday.
