Mt. Juliet Pastor Greg Locke has another viral video, and the subject of his latest tirade is Target’s new bathroom policy, which has caused debates across the country.

Locke, pastor of Global Vision Bible Church, said he went to the Mt. Juliet Target location and asked a manager about the company’s altered bathroom policy, which came after North Carolina lawmakers voted to restrict public restrooms to people based on the gender listed on a person’s birth certificate.

“I asked, ‘can you please help me understand your new bathroom policy?’ To which, she shrugged her shoulders, and said, and I quote, ‘well, basically there’s been a new law passed and because of that law, it’s our policy that you can now use the restroom that you self identify with,'” Locke said.

Locke said he was offered a number to contact Target’s corporate office for more information, but said he had heard enough.

“You have lost your ever loving mind. Are you kidding me? Your political correctness has caused you to do something extraordinarily stupid. You know why? Because you’re not targeting and being inclusive to transgender people by doing this. They make up 0.3 percent of the population,” Locke said.

“What you’re targeting are perverts, pedophiles and people that are going to harm our children. Let me tell you something and be blunt about it. Before I got saved by the grace of God, I used to smoke a lot of dope, but I’ve never been that stupid.”

Target released a statement April 19 to discuss the company’s stance on the legislation.

“Inclusivity is a core belief at Target. It’s something we celebrate. We stand for equality and equity and strive to make our guests and team members feel accepted, respected and welcomed in our stores and workplaces every day,” the statement said.

“Consistent with this belief, Target supports the federal Equality Act, which provides protections to LGBT individuals, and opposes action that enables discrimination.

In our stores, we demonstrate our commitment to an inclusive experience in many ways. Most relevant for the conversations currently underway, we welcome transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity.”

“I’m well aware of the fact that many other individuals, as well as businesses by in large, will probably take the same route because they think they’re being politically correct. When, at the end of the day, they’re being ignorantly naïve,” Locke said.

The American Family Association also called for a boycott of Target after the statement release.

“Target’s policy is exactly how sexual predators get access to their victims. And with Target publicly boasting that men can enter women’s bathrooms, where do you think predators are going to go? Clearly, Target’s new policy poses a danger to wives and daughters,” AFA president Tim Wildmon said.

“One solution is a common-sense approach and a reasonable solution to the issue of transgendered customers: a unisex bathroom. Target should keep separate facilities for men and women, but for the trans community and for those who simply like using the bathroom alone, a single occupancy unisex bathroom option should be provided.”

Locke is not new to national attention. Last year, he posted a viral video claiming Wilson County Schools were indoctrinating Islam into students and identified teaching material and textbooks as the main tools.
