Imagine what would happen if an ESPN sports personality called Barack Obama a racial slur? Do you think the network would simply reprimand the offender and move along? Or, do you think that person would be fired? Do you think the left would go after that person and force some kind of public apology? You bet! But, when the racial slur comes from the left, and it’s directed at President Trump, all bets are off.

As covered yesterday on GOPUSA, ESPN’s Jemele Hill took to twitter to call Trump “a white supremacist,” “a bigot” and “unqualified and unfit to be president.” ESPN did little to reprimand the talkshow host, and now, she has come out with her own “apology.” Did she apologize to Trump? Nope… she apologized to ESPN.

From Fox News

ESPN host Jemele Hill took to Twitter on Wednesday evening “to address the elephant in the room,” after coming under fire Monday for calling President Donald Trump a “white supremacist.”

“My comments on Twitter expressed my personal beliefs. My regret is that my comments and the public way I made them painted ESPN in an unfair light. My respect for the company and my colleagues remains unconditional,” Hill tweeted.

In a series of tweets Monday, Hill claimed Trump was “unqualified and unfit to be president,” and that “his rise is a direct result of white supremacy.”

The network responded Tuesday, saying Hill’s comments “do not represent the position of ESPN,” and that she “recognizes her actions were inappropriate.”

ESPN issued the following statement:

“Jemele has a right to her personal opinions, but not to publicly share them on a platform that implies that she was in any way speaking on behalf of ESPN. She has acknowledged that her tweets crossed that line and has apologized for doing so. We accept her apology.”

So… when former baseball pitcher Kurt Schilling got political on his twitter account, he was fired by ESPN. In addition to Hill’s racist tweets against Trump, she also has tweets attacking singer Kid Rock and questioning his support of black people. She also has tweets criticizing police officers. And yet, ESPN keeps paying her. I guess it’s clear what side of the fence ESPN is on.
