We’ve seen it time and time again. When liberals lose an argument or a debate based on the facts (and they always do), they then turn to character destruction. Their plan is that if the American people don’t trust the messenger, they won’t trust the message. It’s pretty pathetic, yet it’s a tactic used over and over and over again. And, of course, the number one label that liberals throw around is “racist.” Oppose illegal immigration? You must be a racist. Oppose so-called health care reform? You must be a racist. Now, members of the NAACP and other groups are focusing on the Tea Party movement, and guess what activists are being called. You got it! Racists.

As noted in a story on FoxNews.com, the “NAACP reportedly is about to take up a resolution to condemn the Tea Party movement for ‘explicitly racist behavior.'” The group is holding its annual convention this week and could vote on Tuesday on the resolution which asks “all people of good will to repudiate the racism of the Tea Parties” and stand against the movement’s attempt to “push our country back to the pre-civil rights era.”

A return to the “pre-civil rights” era? Give me a break! These people have nothing better to do than accuse others of racism because they see the country lining up on the side of the Tea Party movement and against them. The Tea Party stands for the simplest, most basic tenets of the American form of government promoted by the Founding Fathers and supported by conservatives: smaller government, lower taxes, and more freedom. You can’t get much more basic than that.

The problem comes in the fact that Obama’s social agenda flies right in the face of those basic tenets, and the left wing organizations such as the NAACP which support Obama’s plans can see themselve losing ground with the American people. They are losing the debate.

According to a story on ABCNews.com:

Tea Party members have used “racial epithets,” have verbally abused black members of Congress and threatened them, and protestors have engaged in “explicitly racist behavior” and “displayed signs and posters intended to degrade people of color generally and President Barack Obama specifically,” according to the proposed resolution.

So every cartoon or sign that bears Obama’s face is now racist? Don’t get me wrong… there are nuts in EVERY organization, but it’s only the conservative groups that come under fire. Where’s the outrage when members of the Black Panther organization can intimidate white voters? There isn’t any. That’s because the media and organizations such as the NAACP don’t truly care about ending racism. They just want to use it as an accusation so that they can advance their own agenda… which, of course, supports plans, benefits, and hirings of one race over the other. You tell me who the racist is!

The ABCNews.com story quotes NAACP spokeswoman Leila McDowell as saying that the Tea Party movement is a “threat to democracy” and a “threat to human rights.” And these comments are taken at face value and not challenged? They are outrageous. The only threat I see to democracy is Obama’s administration in Washington which looks to take over everything from the automobile industry to banking to energy.

Fortunately, the racist label is wearing thin with the American people. Obama has tried to use it when his buddy was arrested by police for being belligerent, and it fell flat. Americans simply want the spending to stop… the taxes to go down… the debt to be reduced… and for politicians in Washington to remember who they work for. These are simple concepts that have nothing to do with racism.
