Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn will invoke his Fifth Amendment protection against self-incrimination on Monday as he notifies the Senate Intelligence committee that he will not comply with a subpoena seeking documents.
That’s according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter. The person spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the private interactions between Flynn and the committee.
Flynn’s decision comes less than two weeks after the committee issued a subpoena for Flynn’s documents as part of the panel’s investigation into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election.
Legal experts have said Flynn was unlikely to turn over the personal documents without immunity because he would be waiving some of his constitutional protections by doing so. Flynn has previously sought immunity from “unfair prosecution” to cooperate with the committee.

It’s beginning to appear that the best protection from prosecution of crimes committed by govt. officials is to have a congressional subpoena. From hillary, comey, huma, the head of the IRS, lois learner, eric holder and etc…. All they have to do is refuse to cooperate and nothing ever happens to them again. The American people must truly be completely brainwashed to tolerate the total inefficiency of congress. From criminal democrats holding office to lying and often criminal republicans congress is a sewer infested with rats. The fact is the US Govt. no longer functions as a government, It has become the worlds largest criminal organization.
beowolf, you been here with your 1 star
Makes you wonder WHY EVEN have subpoena power if they can’t do a damn think when people ignore it or consistently take the 5th…
Give him a ‘fifth’ of good liquor and he will spill the beans, such a waste of good food, and another untrustworthy appointee will disappear.
I find it ironic they claim an anonymous source is saying this, WHEN THE BLOODY news (fox, abc) are both reporting that it was HIS LAWYER telling him to do this..
