Transgender Craziness: ESPN Fires Curt Schilling for THIS Comment…
Enough is enough! How much longer do we have to put up with this craziness? How much longer is the vast majority of the American people going to be pushed around by left-wing corporations and the media? They are telling us who is allowed to work, what we are allowed to believe, and what we are allowed to say. Just look what baseball great Curt Schilling wrote that got him fired from ESPN.
On Wednesday, ESPN announced that it was firing baseball analyst Curt Schilling for a comment he posted on his Facebook account. As reported on the Associated Press story running on Fox News, a picture of a cross-dressing man was shared on Schilling’s Facebook page with the caption: “Let him in! To the restroom with your daughter or else you’re a narrow minded, judgmental, unloving, racist bigot who needs to die!!!”
As Schilling notes in a blog post, “This latest brew ha ha is beyond hilarious. I didn’t post that ugly looking picture. I made a comment about the basic functionality of mens and womens restrooms, period.”
So what was Schilling’s comment? What did he write that was so bad that ESPN felt compelled to fire him? Here it is. This is what Schilling wrote:
“A man is a man no matter what they call themselves. I don’t care what they are, who they sleep with, men’s room was designed for the penis, women’s not so much. Now you need laws telling us differently? Pathetic.”
Offensive? Outrageous? Grounds for being fired? Apparently so… at least according to ESPN.
According to most people, I would venture to say that they would think his comments represent COMMON SENSE. A man should not be in a women’s restroom. Period. End of story. And yet, the left-wing media and corporate America are telling all of us that not only should men be allowed in women’s restrooms, but that the behavior of men dressing up and acting like women is to be considered normal. It’s NOT.
According to a government survey, only about three percent of the American population is gay, and yet the left wants everyone to think 1) that the number is much, much higher, and 2) that being gay is normal. It’s not. It’s not natural or normal. If there are folks who are gay, so be it, but please don’t tell me that it’s normal, common behavior. The same applies to men who dress up and pretend to be women. That behavior is not normal, and yet the left not only want you to “tolerate” it, but they want you to embrace it as normal.
In today’s America, if you believe that marriage is between one man and one woman, you can be fired from your job (see former Mozzilla CEO), you can be fined (see numerous Christian bakers), you can be imprisoned (see county clerk Kim Davis). If you believe that men should not be allowed in women’s restrooms, all of a sudden, you are now the bigot. You are now the one out of touch. Where is the common sense?
I’ll tell you why common sense has disappeared. Because corporate America does not care about the will of the majority. They only care about their bottom line, and their bottom line is only affected by the “vocal majority.” And the vocal majority is vastly represented by left-wing radicals who want to force an agenda down our throats. They will picket and boycott and rally and sue and threaten. And so corporate America caves in. (Add to that the fact that many large companies are run by left-leaning CEOs. It’s so much easier for a company to be left-leaning and embrace EVERYTHING than it is to be conservative and stand for something.)
Just to show you how the left thinks, an editorial from USAToday.com was posted this morning that tried to explain why it was good that Curt Schilling was fired. The column is titled: “ESPN — at long last — has fired Curt Schilling, and we’re all better for it”.
In it, columnist Christine Brennan writes:
While it is true that Schilling’s opinions were appalling, insensitive and nasty, over and over again, there was more to this firing than the hatred contained in his words.
Schilling broke a very simple if unwritten media rule: A member of the sports media should cover and comment on sports news, not actively try to make news.
Schilling didn’t know when to be quiet. He didn’t know when to stop. When you’re a member of the news media, as I have been for years, you censor yourself dozens of times a day.
This is not only outrageous, but it is simply not true. I guess she means that if you are a conservative, you should keep your opinions to yourself.
During the time when Indiana was debating its religious freedom law, both hosts of ESPN’s “Pardon the Interruption” made comments against the law. They had no idea what the law would actually do, but they blasted it any way, thus upsetting people like me who just want to watch sports commentary. Bob Costas has opined about gun control and the evil Redskins name during nationally televised football games, and that’s ok? The double standard is appalling.
Schilling was right, but it won’t matter as long as we stay quiet. Colleges are forcing a left-wing agenda. The media are. Corporate America is. And they will all continue to do so until we take a stand. Please, please, please let’s have some common sense.
