It’s quiz day at GOPUSA, and I’m hoping you will participate. The quiz is quite easy. Actually, I better not say that, because liberals have controlled education for decades. In any case, let’s consider the three main “holidays” that are celebrated in late December. I put holidays in quotes because one of them was created by a single guy in the 1960s, so to me, that doesn’t count, but I digress. I’m talking about Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa. Of those three, which one is symbolized (as one of many symbols) by a decorated pine tree?

So… still thinking about it? Are the gears in your head turning? Nope. You had the answer right away. It’s Christmas. There is NO Hanukkah tree. There is certainly NO Kwanzaa tree! And yet, year after year as a way to drive Christianity out of Christmas and for liberals to “appear” inclusive, we see the phrase “holiday tree” being used to replace Christmas tree.

Of course, we all know that by doing so the “appearance” of inclusion gives way to the true intent: the EXCLUSION of the Christian meaning beyond a 100% Christian holiday.

In Rhode Island, Gov. Lincoln Chafee has deemed it inappropriate to call their state’s decorated tall pine tree a Christmas tree. Yes… he did this all in the name of “inclusion.” What other holiday was he trying to include?

Chafee insisted his word choice was inclusive and in keeping with Rhode Island’s founding as a sanctuary for religious diversity. But his seasonal semantics incensed some lawmakers, the Roman Catholic Church and thousands of people who called his office to complain that the independent governor was trying to secularize Christmas.

“He’s trying to put our religion down,” said Ken Schiano of Cranston, who came to the tree lighting after hearing about the controversy. “It’s a Christmas tree. It always has been and it always will be, no matter what that buffoon says it is.”

In California, an elementary school is coming under fire, because it has banned poinsettias and Santa from the classroom. Why? Because the school doesn’t want to offend anyone. Hello!!!! I’m offended!

Controversy is embroiling a California town over allegations that elementary school teachers have been told they cannot display poinsettias or Santa Claus in their classroom over fears that it might offend people.

“District office would like to remind everyone when displaying holiday decorations in and around school to be mindful no association to any religious affiliation i.e. Santa, poinsettias, Christmas trees, etc,” read a document obtained by News 10 in Sacramento that was reportedly sent to teachers at Claudia Landeen Elementary School in Stockton, CA.

The same document said holiday decorations like snowmen and snowflakes were appropriate for grade school classrooms.

This is not just happening in California either. At a local elementary school in my neighborhood, parents volunteering to help with Christmas activities were given a memo that the theme would be a “Winter Wonderland” and a snowman would be the main feature. There would be no reference whatsoever to Christmas or Santa. Of course, in the lobby of this school is a big pine tree with decorations on it. A “holiday” tree, perhaps? It sure sounds like a Christmas tree to me.

This just shows how society is so messed up. We can’t have a Christmas tree, but in Leesburg, VA, the county allowed the “artwork” of Jeff Heflin to be displayed outside the county courthouse. It’s a display of Santa being crucified on a cross. But, of course, it’s “constitutionally protected free speech.” It seems like the only ones we care about protecting are those who would be offended by Christianity. That fact that Christians would be offended is not a big deal.

As one commenter noted on the story, if a cross were erected near the courthouse, it would be taken down. However, if you crucify a Santa on it, the display becomes protected “art.” Pathetic.
