Anti-Gun Democrat Can't Tell a Bullet from a Magazine

By Bobby Eberle

One has to wonder about the American public in general, because the only way people get elected is by getting other people to vote for them.... and we have some pretty questionable people currently serving in public office. Take the leading anti-gun Democrat in Colorado who recently revealed through her comments that she didn't even know the difference between a bullet and a magazine.

It is the goal of the Democrats to get rid of so-called "high capacity" magazines. What constitutes "high capacity?" Of course, it's just an arbitrary number determined by the Democrats. In other words, they are telling us that no "common sense" American should have a magazine that holds more than ten rounds. Our course, criminals don't necessarily fall into the "common sense" category, but Democrats don't seem to understand that concept.

In any case, Democrat Rep. Diana DeGette from Colorado has been leading the effort to ban high capacity magazines. But as reported by the Denver Post, at a public forum hosted by the newspaper, DeGette revealed her complete lack of knowledge on the issue:

DeGette: “I will tell you these are ammunition, they’re bullets, so the people who have those now they’re going to shoot them, so if you ban them in the future, the number of these high capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will have been shot and there won’t be any more available.”

You can watch her comments on this video. Just forward to the 31-minute mark to begin.

Can you believe this? Magazines are ammunition? They are bullets? And these are the people who are crafting gun legislation???

After her remarks, the audience in the forum at The Denver Post building chuckled.

Larimer County Sheriff Justin Smith, responding as the audience was laughing, urged people who hadn’t shot a gun to “get to the facts … Let’s be educated as we make this decision.”

The National Rifle Association was not quite as diplomatic Wednesday in response to DeGette’s comments.

“Two words — pretty stupid,” said NRA spokesman Andrew Arulanandam.

But that's not all DeGette said in the forum. She actually mocked a citizen who was concerned about what he would do if there were several intruders in his house. "I have to change magazines?" he asked. Her response was that he would likely be dead anyway.

So, the Denver Police are only minutes away. So assuming the man was not incapacitated by the intruders, perhaps he could call a "time out" and ask the intruders to "chill" for a few minutes while he calls 911 and then waits for the police to arrive? Give me a break.

Of course, DeGette's office responded by saying she "misspoke," but even in their "correction," they messed things up again. Here's a follow-up report from the Denver Post:

DeGette spokeswoman Juliet Johnson on Wednesday said the senior congresswoman from Denver "misspoke" and then issued another erroneous statement about guns.

"The congresswoman has been working on a high-capacity assault magazine ban for years and has been deeply involved in the issue; she simply misspoke in referring to 'magazines' when she should have referred to 'clips,' which cannot be reused because they don't have a feeding mechanism," Johnson said.

Actually, clips in most guns can be reused as well.

So there you have it. The Democrats are so focused on turning us all into potential victims, but they don't even know what they are talking about.

Democrats are not concerned with the facts pertinent to the gun control debate. The facts actually get in the way of their agenda. They preach to the “low information” voters that they are concerned about public safety and this is not true.

The Progressive Democrats are interested only in one thing when it comes to gun control and that is to make it illegal for common ciitizens to own firearms. The Progressive rationale for their views is that socialist/communist leaning elitists cannot tyrannize an armed citizenry. America’s founding fathers spoke of this.

The Democrat end game is confiscation of all firearms period, end of story. The liberal politicians with Senator Fienstien (D CA)as only one example, have become so bold as to admit this. American freedom is on the line.

They preach to the “low information” voters and like the good little lemmings the voters are, they vote for the “low information” representation. The stupid leading the stupid and it sounds like her staff is just or more as dumb as she is. They should issue a press release that they misspoke too.

They’d better mandate that all “assault” rifles which include their Red Rider B B guns will henceforth be clearly marked “The end with the hole should be pointed away from the user”. Come to think of it, maybe a better idea would be to tell them that the end with the hole should be placed in their ears. The gene pool in Colorado for humans would improve over night.

With people like her, all us right thinking rednecks in Texas look like geniuses.

The pro constitution voters in Colorado should turn in all their used Coors cans and tell her that they agree with her and will cooperate to save the country, so here are our magazines and clips. She could be pleased with her accomplishment and run for Senator and probably win by a vast majority.

I wonder how many guns were used in the Colorado school killings a few years back?

The only magazines that should be banned are the Liberal media rag sheets published to corrupt the minds of the Constitutionally uninformed.

      Patrick Henry quote:
“Are we at last brought to such a humiliating and debasing degradation, that we cannot be trusted with arms for our own defense? Where is the difference between having our arms in our own possession and under our own direction, and having them under the management of Congress? If our defense be the real object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands?”

DeGette in office is the result of “low information” voters. DeGette is not real smart. She doesn’t really know anything on her own and she was only partially listening to her instructors when they were covering her talking points and got their “goals” mixed up with their “tactics”. But her mix-up is very informative. What she was alluding to is the left’s tactic to try to dry up ammunition country-wide, backdoor gun control, so to speak. With the new UN Anti-gun treaty, for example Tulammo, a Russian ammunition manufacturer, that is the ONLY thing available right now for the popular calibers, won’t be able to supply the US anymore. Anyone not aware of the situation in the USA right now let me tell you that there is virtually no ammunition in the most popular calibers to be found in the whole country. Oh yeah, small boxes of twenty or so shells at three times the normal prices some places. But bulk? Forgedaboudit! Same thing with reloading components. Nada. Zip, country-wide. Or reloading presses. Or dies. Well, you get what I mean. Also everyone must know by now that this administration’s DHS has been ordering up basically all the American ammunition manufacturers capacity for the last couple of years, now up to over 2 BILLION rounds. The left has come up with the new plan of “let them have their damned guns, what good will it do them if they have no bullets.” Thats what DeGette was getting confused with her “we need to ban high capacity magazines, for the children” talking point.

Is this a cost passed on from the Manufacturer or Retailers wearing black masks?

The lobbyist for the national ammunition manufacturers association has publicly stated that the manufacturers were caught short-handed because of the rush to buy guns and ammo after the Newtown massacre. The shortage has NOTHING TO DO with the DHS or any other federal government agency “buying up” ammunition. Go check out Snopes.com, which is independent.

Perhaps the Congresswoman needs clip to automatically feed the correct information to brain so when she loads the magazine into her mouth and shoots mouth the proper information will spewed out.
But the reality is that she opens her mouth and inserts her foot she does not have clue as to what she is talking about. The the best response to tell a concerned elderly citizen the police will be there in minutes is good thing for you, but you will probably be dead any way so what does it matter what type magazine or clip you have if there are multiple intruders. Maybe just Maybe there are enough concerned citizens out there to vote idiots like this out of office.

After some thought I have come to the conclusion that the ignorance of any technical facts displayed by most of the Lefty Loons as concerns “Gun” Control (read “Citizen Control”)is actually a good thing. When discussing the situation with any person of reason that just does not know much about firearms we can easily educate them thereby pointing out the ignorance and just plain hysterical goofiness of most of the LL’s arguments. Now, point out that if the LL in question is so ignorant or purposely misleading on the subject at hand think about the veracity of everything else they say.

    RATIONAL ARGUMENTS
Would someone please explain how politicians can tell us in one breath that we shouldn’t judge all muslims by the actions of a few extremists or “crazies,”and then in their next breath tell us that we need to have drastic new gun control laws for all gun owners, based on the actions of a few “crazies”?
If they can explain that,I would ask why they don’t pursue new laws to control lightning, since more Americans are killed each year by lightning than in mass shooting.
We Americans need to distinguish between emotional arguments and rational arguments, and we should demand that politicians stick to rational arguments.

Most of these people are about as sharp as a bag full of hammers. Carolyn McCarthy doesn’t know what a barrel shroud is but “barrel shrouds are bad, m’kay”. Assemblywoman Patricia Eddington thinks an incendiary bullet is “heat seeking”.

Carolyn McCarthy also claimed that the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban was based on what guns were most used to fire at police when even Dianne Feinstein’s aides recount going through the Gun Digest and other gun magazines (the paper variety) and cataloging the nasty looking features they decided made the guns more dangerous. That’s why DiFi went ballistic when gun makers responded to the ban on cosmetics by removing the cosmetics.

It really disturbs me when people speak with great authority on subjects where they have no knowledge. The truly sad thing is we are being ruled by idiots and nobody seems the least bit concerned. CBS thinks Joe Biden’s dangerous idiocy is “endearing” to the public.

How do we maintain respect for the people who represent us on the national or local level when they make decisions based on utter ignorance? It’s said that ignorance is treatable but you can’t fix stupid.

On the issue of gun control, they cannot afford to call in experts in the field because the experts in the field would not support the allegations they make about guns and gun control.

So….they move out of CO because of that, move to TX or OK (or some other red state)…and start up voting Democrat again, effectively contaminating and ruining their new home state. It happens. Many Democrats who don’t like their state as it has become, don’t have a clue that it was THEM who made it that way.

The statistics regarding guns and crime do no matter to me nor should they to you, even though they are on our side; guns are used an estimated 2.5 million times per year in America to thwart a crime – just the sight and/or presence of a gun stops most attacks. The important thing to remember is the 2nd Amendment is our constitutional right, rights inherited by our creator, not government. The founders rightly knew the evil ways of man and wrote the 2nd Amendment to be clear to all future generations that Americans have the right to keep and bear arms and that right shall not be infringed. The Supreme Court ruled in 1939 in the case of Miller vs. the U.S. that the people have the right to bear the same arms that are in use by the military, since the people are the militia, and as the founders had said, the people shall retain the balance of power over the government.

There is nothing to argue here, the people have the right to high capacity magazines, so called assault weapons, etc… and any change or restriction made to that is unconstitutional as well as being treason on the part of the people who propose such treasonous laws. If you don’t like the 2nd Amendment then work to repeal it, but you have no right to restrict or erode our rights on a majority vote. We will begin with civil disobedience and we will not comply with unconstitutional laws, and if push comes to shove, you know where it will end – and the people will win!

Bye the way, I don’t care what the current black robes vote, we know what the 2nd Amendment says, what it means, what it is for, so if some pro government justices rule otherwise against common sense and against all of the founding fathers writings that clearly prove the meaning of the 2nd Amendment, it is meaningless.

America once had a Secretary of the Navy, in the late 1800s, who did not know that the wooden ships of the day were hollow and had compartments below the deck. (I bet he was amazed that the ones made of steel could float.)

Apparently Democrat Rep. Diana DeGette is one of those who doesn’t respect the average voter and thinks that the average person doesn’t know which end of the gun is dangerous. Gun owner respect the capabilities of their weapons. Legislators like DeGette may not like guns and probably want to eventually disarm the police as well. Why is it that we elect people like this to support the criminal element who doesn’t have to pay (bribe) Congress in order to support their personal theft and murder industry. Collusion with the criminal element should be reason enough to remove these clown from office. Then maybe we can reduce the bloat of and in government and restore this nation!

It is neither unconstitutional nor treasonous to propose such a change to the Constitution … it just needs to be done through the Constitutional Amendment process … which fortunately, will never happen, because, it will never pass.

So, instead they try to pass laws to bypass that which they know will not happen … that is what is improper to enact laws that are unconstitutional. If they want to try and change the Constitution, they should go ahead & try. I think we all know how far that will go toward a ratification. The voice of the people would be a very clear and resounding “NO”.

Yes, I would believe that it is unconstitutional. But then one must take the Supreme Court into account. They do not always follow either the letter or the spirit of the US Constitution. They even go so far as throwing their own precedents into the trashbin. And do not forget those justices who spit on the Constitution.

Colorado legalizes marijuana … hmmm, wondering how much she and her staff have been smoking. Or maybe how much she thinks her constituents have been smoking. Either way, this is pretty whack stuff.

Do you really believe that any law (I don’t mean a constitutional amendment) that limits the 2nd Amendment is unconstitutional?

Darn, even a teleprompter wouldn’t have helped her out of this mess! Maybe she and her spokesperson should just go take a gun safety course and gain a little knowledge before stepping into the UNKNOWN.
