Feinstein's Gun Ban Exempts... Her

By Bobby Eberle

The Democrats are clamoring for a gun ban. It doesn't matter that the federal government has no business tracking us or telling us what firearm we can or can't own, but now liberals like Dianne Feinstein are throwing in a hefty dose of hypocrisy. It turns out that Feinstein's bill would exempt her from the restrictions placed on everyone else.

As reported in the Washington Times, "the measure is by far the most ambitious of the number of gun-control bills introduced in the wake of the school shootings in Newtown, Conn., last month."

Her bill seeks to reinstate and expand the ban on assault weapons that was first enacted in 1994, but which lapsed in 2004.

It would prohibit semiautomatic pistols that can accept a detachable magazine and have at least one military feature, such as a pistol grip or telescoping. Purchasing the AR-15 Bushmaster rifle, which was used by the shooter in Newtown, would be illegal under the ban.

Mrs. Feinstein's measure would exempt more than 2,200 types of hunting and sporting rifles; guns manually operated by bolt, pump, lever or slide action; and weapons used by government officials, law enforcement and retired law enforcement personnel.

It would also ban ammunition magazines that hold more than 10 rounds.

The Weekly Standard confirms other reports by stating, "if the proposed legislation becomes law, government officials and others will be exempt."

So what is going on here? People in houses... facing intruders... will be restricted on what they can use to defend themselves, but Feinstein and others won't?

This entire debate is just a ploy by the government to gain more control... and firearms are the vehicle. If Feinstein can defend herself with whatever means she deems appropriate, shouldn't you be able to do the same?

We absolutely must find a way to prohibit Congress from passing laws that they themselves are unwilling to follow. I don’t know if we can do it by an amendment, because neither house would introduce a bill that is going to take away their special rights. But what they are doing goes against every intent of our Founding Fathers. It was never meant for us to have a ruling class with a different set of rules than the common man. How arrogant of her to propose a bill which basically is telling ordinary Americans that her life is worth more than ours.

Natch her bill makes all of them in DC politics exempt. They’re important, we’re not. The only time we count for anything is when it’s their turn to be elected or re-elected. That’s the time when they go into lying overdrive. They exempt themselves from most of the laws that we are subjected to. Like the recent stock purchasing flap. They had to pass a special law saying that they couldn’t buy stocks if they had any pre offering or early information. Who would have thought that they were breaking the law with their insider trading information? Strange they only passed the law when they were caught with their pants down (that’s a sickening image. My apologies).

Aren’t they all just unappreciated regular salt of the earth, ethical, honorable folks working their buns off for the people and the country? BS, all we mean to them is a piggy bank and a vote. She’s said that MOST Americans are for this legislation; that’s a bald face lie (their stock in trade). Just like they say that most Americans are for amnesty which is another fat lie. Parenthetically, Boner (misspelling intended) just sold us down the river again today on the immigration and legal citizen issue. What a great leader … for the Democrats and the Mexicans.

Feinstein is like that other *** from California, Barbara Boxer who chastised a General publically for calling her Ma’am rather than Senator. I believe she said she’d “worked so hard for the title”. Actually I know she said it because I watched her say it to him. I blew several blood vessels when she did. I wonder how many years it took her to be elected Senator? I wonder how many times her life was at risk during her career? I wonder how many years she’s had to spend away from her family? I wonder how underpaid she has ever been? I doubt that she’s ever even had to do a pushup. The stupid mother of dogs didn’t realize that the General was paying her the proper respect as he had been taught and was used in the military. Much like Allahbama who is so dumb that he thought it was the Marine Corpse instead of core, she didn’t have a clue.

It’s getting to the point that rarely does a day go by that I don’t find another reason to despise all politicians, and it’s already a very long list.

Lets be very clear. The moron in Newtown did NOT use a so-called assualt rifle. He used two handguns. It was widely reported the day of the tragedy that the so-called assualt rifle was in his car and NOT used. we must continually point these issues out as this is just another distraction being used by the MSM to push their ban agenda. No assault weapon was used, people !

As always, mainstream media reported a stream of rumors and rumors of rumors in the hours following the shooting. We provide the following for our reader’s information.

From the Department of Emergency Services & Public Protection, Connecticut State Police, State of Connecticut website comes the official report on the firearms used at Newtown:

      http://www.ct.gov/despp/cwp/view.asp?Q=517284

      Seized inside the school:

#1. Bushmaster .223 caliber– model XM15-E2S rifle with high capacity 30 round magazine

      #2. Glock 10 mm handgun

      #3. Sig-Sauer P226 9mm handgun

Seized from suspect’s car in parking lot:

#4. Izhmash Canta-12 12 gauge Shotgun (seized from car in parking lot)

Yes, the first reports were no AR-15 in Sandy Hook, and as GOPUSA reports, they later corrected the reports to the above. I think the confusion is with the Newton Colo. weirdo who dressed up as The Joker and entered the Batman showing theater. His assault rifle either jammed or he didn’t know how to operate it, and he proceeded with his carnage using an 870 pump shotgun (which Feinstein exempts….this time around).

BTW, watch that last Batman movie with the glorification of senseless violence, and THEN try and make the case Hollywood has no role in inciting the deranged to act out what they saw….but I digress. I expect most any reader here “gets” what is really going on and the complex dynamic of the truth, from the obvious to the less so. Visceral responses from citizens appalled by a government that says we the people can’t be trusted is SO OFFENSIVE to any normal adult; those cold-dead-hand comments are to be expected. And to use such responses against us as proof gun owners are one small step from mayhem is an inevitable result.

Most people remain open minded, but absent an understanding of how guns work and how they are being misled by politicos with an agenda (and not ALL of the antis are any better informed either), how can they respond any way but in favor of a safer world?

So we must not further their misconceptions with Elmer Fudd responses. Talk to EVERYBODY you can. Explain how wonderful America has been to most of us in terms of growing up with Mr. Rogers and Sesame Street world views. But explain also that a whole lot of kids DON’T grow up that way. Evil, danger and violence build a different set of survival skills that frequently create violent criminals and a street culture worth being afraid of my the rest of us.

Tell them that despite biased/ignorant and blatant lies by those like Feinstein, gun owners, the NRA, everybody else AND even the anti’s want the same thing. Safety and security for ourselves and family. Explain that the vast majority of gun owners would happily not own self defense guns and such IF the bad guys were not armed. Make them realize restriction/confiscation only impacts the law abiding. Show them the statistics how crime ALWAYS rises when the good guys can’t step up and fight back. The Rule of Unintended Consequences applies here. And if they don’t quite comprehend unintended consequences, use HIPPA. Feinstein voted for privacy in the sharing of medical records which includes the provision that no citizen may be institutionalized without their consent unless they have ALREADY done harm/violence to others.

Reports are that the murdered mother of the Sandy Hook shooter was trying to get her son help, but the law Feinstein and others passed no longer allows it, and as a result, children died. Let the person hearing the truth come to the conclusion to look deeper for a solution than having Feinstein decide what guns are good guns and which are bad guns.

Then back it up with what has happened in Canada and Australia where people technically remain subjects of the Crown, not citizens and most private guns (of all types) were recently banned. The various chat rooms are increasingly filled by pleadings from the Aussies and Canadians to stand firm because they now live in fear, and America is their last hope to convince politicos to restore their ability to protect themselves from the bad guys. One Aussie currently pointed out that the increase in murders (40% increase in Victoria in the first year) has tapered off some because the criminals are running out of victims.

Good luck and God help us all save ourselves from Idiots, no matter how well meaning. We can only do so by calm “we’re on the same side” conversations.

Half of them get away with corruption and actions that any average folk would be arrested for or fired for. If we ran our households like these idiots run washington everyone would be broke, defenseless and overrun by the nearest country who would conquer us at their leisure. Very few of them have any idea what the average person goes through on a daily basis. Look at that hypocrite Gore who sold out his sole for money to a terrorist network for money. Is he driving around in a prius or electric car to protect our environment. Maybe it’s about time americans WAKE UP to the double standard that washington pushes. Elect new people who stand up for real values and not based on the politicians popularity, wallet, talking points or their connections. Throw those out even the republicans who don’t realistically stand up for our values.

Rule by the majority, unrestrained by the law, (Constitution) is mob rule and easily manipulated by those in power.

RE the GOP STAFF COMMENT: I read two reports by police officers that verified the statements made by Fed-up and contradicted the GOP STAFF statement. BOTH reports said that ONLY HANDGUNS WERE USED IN THE MURDERS UNDER COMMENT. A rifle is not easily used in close quarters to shoot people when every shot requires a trigger pull. A Semi-automatic hand gun, which also requires a trigger pull for ever shot, is much easier used inside a building or classroom.

This confusion would certainly be cleared up by releasing the video gathered by all those security cameras at the school….or are you going to tell me the shooter (or shooters) disabled the entire system before, during or after the event…

BTW, does anyone really buy that twenty children were all shot IN THE FACE multiple times? In the certain chaos of the event, I cannot conceive of a way that children could be held still long enough in a position to be repeatedly shot, then one by one move to the next child and do it over. Doesn’t it make more sense that all the children shot would have multiple random wounds, some fatal, some not, instead of EVERY child shot ONLY in the face? ***?

The feds have no business tracking legal law abiding citizens or the guns we choose to own. Any attempt to do so is invalid and is based on a desire to seize those weapons at a future date.

Congress has been exempting themselves from laws for years. The political class always takes steps to protect themselves at the peril of the population whom the politicians believe are their subjects.

Write your Congressman/women and Senators and tell them they better vote against this constitutional violation or expect to be voted out!

We should still try and vote them out, but so far that approach has had very limited success. The government itself has grown to tyrannical proportions.

One of the most effective tactics these tyrants use in incrementalism. They do this in stages, so the each stage will not provoke a rebellion or a revolution.

It would be better for us if they would just go ahead and declare the Constitution invalid, and to confiscate all the guns, and all the property of the American people.

If they did that, we would be in a revolution. But instead they just keep grinding us down. We have to wake up to this. If we continue to fall for this tactic, we will be lost.

“. . .guns manually operated by bolt, pump, lever or slide action”

I think the thing that a lot of people are overlooking here is that this gun ban will also prohibit semi-automatic pistols because they use a detachable magazine. My semi-automatic shotgun would also be prohibited because it is not operated manually by bolt, pump, lever action, or slide action.

Therefore I would be required if this law passes to surrender my 20-guage shotgun and my 1911 .45 caliber pistol OR I would become a criminal if I refuse. As long as we have gangs such as MS-13 operating in our cities, I refuse to resort to a single-shot or bolt action weapon to try to defend myself and my property.

I have Obama talked about the “youth” who are killed by firearms in cities like Chicago, but I have never heard him address the fact that those “youths” are hard-core gang members carrying every type of illegal weapon include fully automatic rifles. obama has no plan to disarm the thugs and gangs. He plans on using them to his advantage. Once he provides amnesty to the Mexican gangs, he’ll probably use them instead of the Secret Service and claim he is saving money. Then it’s on to the Bloods and Crips and so on. obama does have a plan but it does not include anyone who is able to think for themselves or doesn’t have their hand out or on the government tit.

There seems to be some conjecture about whether an “assault rifle” was used in the Newtown shootings. I know for a fact that an “assault rifle” was not used in this tragedy. An assault rifle such as the M-16 or any of the derivatives thereof occurring prior to(M-1) or after the inception of the M-16 was definitely NOT used in Newtown. An assault rifle by definition is one that has the capability of being used as a Full Automatic weapon. If, in fact an AR-15 Bushmaster was used in Newtown, other than the fact that it looks similar to an M-16, that is where the resemblance ends. These “legislators” and the Progressive Liberal agenda know this. This is simple a way to get to the goal of an unarmed population that is at the mercy of a government that will be able to pacify rebellion and control every aspect of their lives. Say what you want about the 2nd Amendment, but the Founding Fathers included it in the Constitution as a means of allowing the citizens of the United States to defend themselves from the very government they were forming, should the time come. Their foresight should be commended because that time folks is getting closer to fruition when the need to protect ourselves from the very people we elect to serve us is rapidly approaching.
Not to change the subject, but since when is a pistol grip or telescoping a “military” feature? I don’t believe I have ever seen a pistol semi-auto or not without a pistol grip. Feinstein is nothing more than a Socialist cheerleader and obama hand puppet.

      iceman47,

They used to be called automatic rifles like the BAR and then the M-14 which is a very formidable weapon. The normal M-14 with selector switch, was just referred to as a “rifle”, but when fitted out with the E-2 stock which had a rear pistol grip and a fold down, hard rubber fore pistol grip was referred to as an “automatic rifle”. Same receiver, same rifle, just with a pug ugly kludge of a stock. I trained on both, but never saw the E-2 stock in close to two years incountry. Interesting that the M1A semi-auto civilian version are not on the list.

I believe the telescoping stock on AR-15′s are a derivation of the CAR-15/M-4 evolution of the original M-16. The collapsible feature makes them easier to conceal so that after playing 18 holes of golf, picking the kids up from soccer and then taking the wife out to dinner, you can pull it out from under the jacket of your Armani suit and with a couple of 30 round magazines that, “nobody needs to go hunting” take out 50 or 60 people at the Four Seasons restaurant and commit suicide because your portfolio dropped 40% and your secretary turned out to be pregnant and threatened to tell your gay lover. (Sorry, I was just down a path of absurdity due to the current state of the Republic.)

It really doesn’t matter in terms of their agenda. If you’ve seen Carolyn McCarthy describing the ultra-dangerous “barrel shroud”, you realize that none of the words matter, just the sound, inflection and presentation to their lemming, sycophantic constituents who want more free stuff and are willing to give up everything, including their freedom, money, our money, property, wives and daughters for the promised security.

This is nothing new. Those who “rule” in WDC are exempt from every law of the land. They should have to use the same medical care as the rest of us. They are our servants; we are not their servants. Apparently, they don’t understand and nothing is going to change until we get rid of all the elected officials and start fresh. So it won’t happen, right?
We all need to be prepared with our guns but we also need to be prepared to be able to depend on God through the knowledge of His Word to get us through the rough times ahead.

If Congress is idiotic enough to pass the legislation, Congress will be responsible for the ramifications of it being ‘nullified’ by The People.

Those ramifications may get serious enough to make ‘debt limit talks’ a moot point for a decade or two.

I am more than sure, that if and when they are able to get anti gun legislation passed, and our guns removed, that ALL
Senators, Congressmen, judges, and all other governmental personnel will be exempt. They will all still be permitted to keep their weapons, and wear them if they so desire.
They only want to ban guns to all Citizens, as a armed Citizenry can never be enslaved, controlled, or in any manner lorded over by those who claim the power.
If the Government can get us to give up our arms, they then hold the position of a animal which has taken over and won the fight over another, causing the other to go belly up to them in surrender.
Gun control is the very first step in a takeover. Once one is disarmed, they have no way to keep from becoming property of those who are armed.
Can you imagine the glee of the thief’s, robbers, muggers, gangs, and all of those who wish to do harm, once they hear that their prey of choice have been disarmed, and wait with no defense against their deeds?.
Sometimes the mere sign that a home is armed is enough to cause many would be robbers, rapists, etc, to go to another house. I imagine if they had no such fears, and are completely aware that no matter which home they wish to invade is completely unprotected courtesy of our Government, we would be completely at their mercy.
Of course, even if guns are taken away from the Citizenry, those innovative ones will find ways to protect themselves, but the odds are most certainly put in favor of the perpetrator wanna b, if they know they will not be shot.

The very ones which we need protection against, will be carrying, be it Government or any other which does not have our best interests at heart.
This is where RULERS are made, and subjects raised.
“Those who hammer their guns into plows will plow for those who do not.”~Thomas Jefferson.

Would government officials include Social Security personnel? Who else will be identified as government officials? We, the American citizens, are in grave danger if those who hold power in the government are allowed to be armed and those of us who are not are forced to be disarmed in clear and direct violation of the 2nd Amendment. We will find ourselves at their mercy and I suspect they will have little if any.

Sounds to me like they don’t want the citizens to have any way to defend themselves against whatever and whomever wishes to exert power.

You have it in a nutshell, praireliving. It is about making Americans submissive, obedient, and forced to do what we are told.
They may be able to take away our guns, but they cannot ever ever disarm us. We are Americans, and we have fought with pitchforks, rakes, and shovels to protect our freedoms. I think when and if they try to enslave us as a whole, they will find out that we do not give in quite so easily. As a Nation of freedom loving Americans, I know when the Nazi’s come callin, we will answer the call, and retaliate with whatever we must. I hope it never comes to this, I hope we are strong enough to keep them from end running our Constitution, and taking away our 2nd Amendment rights. If they win this one, there will be no stopping them by legal means, as at that point our Constitution will have been declared null and void. I believe this is the ultimate goal of the man who sits in the Presidents chair, and all those blindly, obediently follow him, and help him achieve his agendas. If one Amendment can be tossed out, who knows where it can go from there.
This man seems to have power somehow to kick the Constitution as if it were a dirty rag, commit treasonous acts, and get away with impeachable offenses as if he is completely untouchable.
None of what he has done against our Country is even questioned, up to and including destroying Christmas, and seeing that all references to God, Jesus Christ, and Christianity are removed from us. This, while he OK’s Muslim Holidays, and quotes from the Koran.
We are truly in deep #2, and if he is not taken from power soon, by impeachment, or proving that he is ineligible to be President, America as we know it will not survive this next 4 years.
Prepare for the worst, and hope and pray for the best.

The reason that government keeps violating the constitution and living a double standard is because the people keep buying it.

If your neighborhood grocery store carried rotten, spoiled, stinky food and the people kept buying it, do you think the store would switch to fresh and healthy produce? Why should they? The products they currently carry costs them a hell of a lot less money and maintenance, and their bottom line isn’t impacted.

If you don’t want your store to carry stinky fish, then stop buying stinky fish.

There is this nearly universal belief among the American people that without government our civilization will fail. If that’s the case, then I guess we are all doomed because with government our civilization is pre-determined to fail. Despite the fact that government prints its own fiat money, government still relies on the labor value of people to prop it up. Part of that is public support and participation in governmental process and authority. Another part is the innumerable taxes paid at nearly every level of monetary exchange. A final part is the continual excuses and apologies for a political process that has no conservative division, has no constitutional division, and has no moral and ethical base. Government is not going to switch to organic when we the people keep paying in spades for putrid.

They have the populace by the shorthairs because some of the deepest programming they instilled in their schools, churches and families is that the nation is the flag, the song, the pledge and the vote. In reality, the nation is people with natural rights and an ethical obligation to abandon that which sickens it in favor of that which cherishes it. If that means a complete dumping of everything Federal then it does. But until the people can get over the necessity of what has been a gigantic lie for centuries, we will still eat the poison they feed us…

A lot of US citizens are becoming more and more illiterate – makes them more and more dependent on the government and hence at the mercy of the politicians.

Friends, nothing we do or say in here will have any effect worth squat except to make us feel good and act tough unless we follow up with it. Right now, TOMORROW we must call, email and write our Senators and Representatives and let them know in no uncertain terms that you expect them to kill this and if they don’t the least they can expect is to not get re-elected. That’s not a threat, just a fact if we don’t vote for them and let everyone we know to not vote for them. Any members of the NRA or The National Association for Gun Rights should call and have an up close and personal conversation and see what they are doing or planning on doing. Sure they’re going to ask for a donation so send them $10 that they can use to bribe Congress for their votes. That’s the way it works. If someone knows where we can easily find out who votes what, I for one would appreciate having the web way to find out listed here. I’m no hotrod with the magic machine or the ether.

Communicating won’t have any immediate effect on them being in office, but if they vote for this we should do everything we can to let our towns, cities or counties know who voted for it and who didn’t. I have had several letters to the editor printed on the editorial page of the local mullet wrapper by doing this. And yes, some readers will find out who you are and threaten you. That’s a good place to see if you really do have a set. Tell even your best friend and all the liberals you know they must do it. Be direct and firm up to and including calling them traitors, cowards, stupid, destroying our country etc. If they get mad and won’t have anything to do with us anymore, that’s a minor cost. I’ve already split the blanket with a few long time friends and even some of my family.

All of you already know all that I have said. I’m just trying to put a bee under your saddle. I’m pretty sure I know how the majority of us Texan rednecks feels and I truly don’t think that our military will take up arms against us. If they do, are you really ready for the consequences?

Every one of us is known to the government by name address and phone number already and they know more about us than our mom’s did. If they get their hands on our guns we’re toast. Remember the rat Rahm Emanuel’s favorite saying “Never let a crisis go to waste”. That’s exactly what is happening to us right now. If this bill is passed we’re going to have to find out who walks the walk, make no mistake about it.

To Arms! To Arms! The government is coming.

Yes, if they are conservative let them know they can count on you. You have their back

I do wish people would stop the wringing of hands. Just because someone slipped the lock on the asylum and now the liberals are roaming the streets, wild and crazy eyed doesn’t mean we need to jump in the loony bin with them.

About all the liberals have going for them is their ability to pump out BS.

Sure Obama won the Electoral vote, sure he won a few percent more of the popular vote but if Congressional districts were counted Obama would have lost

      So what does that mean?

There are a lot more Congressman out their sharing your views and your values and who are at the mercy of your vote than are at the mercy of liberals

So call, and write and tell them if they continue to represent you they can continue to count on you

If it’s a travesty, and it ends, how can that be anything but happy following that?

The problem that exists is that the people are mentally tied to the source of their harm and dis-ease. This abusive relationship, wherein we always forgive and they always come back around to the circle of fear and abuse, is deep seeded and has been programmed since birth by family, church, school and any other institution in this nation. It is a macrocosm of a beaten wife and drunken, abusive husband.

The ending you mention can only be one thing: the dissolved Federal government. Because this government has its tentacles into the lives of all living men in nearly every way imaginable, the pain of it all will be great for many. When all of your gratifications are based on an economic system of profit, that economic system destroyed forevermore just might mean many people are destroyed forevermore.

Government is a corporation of human control. In the process of control it charges its herd for that system. There are always new reasons for government to increase control, and therefore new burdens to be applied, most economically and all based in present and future fears.

If one can break away, and deny that government is real, that it is a fiction construct of strangers with insidious intent, the travesty you mention becomes a blessing waiting to be played out once and for all. We are no more the slaves of a governmental system than the founding fathers and peoples were in 1776, or any other time people have had the bells to opt out and resist their oppressors. Government is pushing this issue to the limit. Government is destroying itself, and if you let it, it will destroy you too…
