Ryan, Biden Clash in -- Interruption -- Debate

By Bobby Eberle

For those of you who watched the 90-minute vice presidential debate on Thursday night, it's hard to come away with a good analysis of the policy issues facing America. Why? Were they omitted? No. Both foreign and domestic topics were covered, but the two things that stood out from this debate were the Joe Biden interruptions and the headache I had from watching it.

I always find it difficult to provide a wrap-up of one of these debates. So much gets said, and it's usually just a few themes or sound bites that stick out. That was the case with this one as well.

Click here for the transcript of the debate.

At the very beginning, the moderator Martha Raddatz asked about the murders and ensuing controversy in Benghazi, Libya. At this point, I was glued to the television set, because I knew this is an issue that is resonating with the American people. Not only does it show the complete misunderstanding that Barack Obama has for the threat of terrorism against Americans, but it also shows the extremes Obama will go to in order to cover it up.

If any political sound bite stood out from Thursday night, it's when Joe Biden said this regarding requests for additional security at the Benghazi consulate: "Well, we weren't told they wanted more security there. We did not know they wanted more security again."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23UTHLn2WO4

This one clip not only contains the sound bite of the night, but it also DIRECTLY contradicts everything that actually went on in the days and weeks following the murders of the four Americans in Libya.

Biden states that as more intelligence was gathered, they updated their story. Wrong. For close to two weeks, the Obama administration put out the SAME story. According to them, the uprising was spontaneous, and it was due to an anti-muslim Internet video.

However, if you think this was a win for Ryan and the Republicans, it wasn't. The issue of Benghazi quickly faded as Iran, Syria, and other topics both foreign and domestic were discussed. On the issue of taxes, Biden was given a free pass (as all Democrats are given) when talking about cutting and raising taxes.

Biden tried the class warfare tact by stating that Romney and Ryan want more tax cuts for the wealthy. This is where -- for some reason unknown to me -- Ryan and everyone else falls into the trap of not saying what's really going on. NO ONE is talking about more tax cuts for the so-called "wealthy." The Bush tax cuts have existed for a decade. They are the norm. The rates that exist now have existed for years. No one is talking about lowering the rate on the wealthy. Yet no Republican says that. We just want to keep the rates the same. (I actually want them lower, but that's a different story.)

Unfortunately, ideas of tax cuts, saving Social Security, or highlighting the Obama administration's complete failure in Libya all took a back seat to Biden and his smirks, laughs, and interruptions. Seriously... that was the highlight of the debate.

Charles Krauthammer had a great analysis of the debate and Biden's antics:

So that's the debate in a nutshell. It was hard to write a serious analysis, because it was not a serious debate. It was a clown show. Biden interrupted 82 times in the course of a 90-minute debate. It was unreal.

I doubt this one changed anyone's mind like the first Romney/Obama debate did, but that's the nature of vice presidential debates. Candidates want to emerge gaffe-free and turn things back over to their bosses. Biden, however, produced the biggest Libya gaffe to date, yet it will be overshadowed by his unprofessional and rude behavior. Such is politics in 2012.

What did you think?

What a classic retard! Couldn’t do anything but spout off the party line. Had no idea of truth but was a chronic interrupter. Bitme was the classic buffoon! This one session wth Biteme proves to me thay we DO NOT need Ozero under any circumstance and to have this hairbrain as VP is preposterous.

God grant us the Senility to forget foolish elected politicians we cannot change,
The ability to change the ones we did,

inluminatuo – best one yet. Watched the whole thing and 2 things stood out. 1st – except one blurb ridiculing Biden’s history of gaffes, I thought Ryan was being too “nice”. Then it dawned on me. He obviously was reared with the ideology that one must always respect old people – especially if they appear senile.

2nd – I used to wonder what Obummer selected Biden for running-mate. It dawned on me that Biden really IS the court jester on whom blames can be fastened when bho says or does stupid things. Biden can also follow ignorant instructions and distort serious situations by his foolish behavior. An example is when the discussion centered on abortion. Biden said, “As a Catholic, I (support the church’s teaching), but as a Democrat, I (totally support abortion)”. And to think that idiot is one heartbeat away from being prez!

Bidden confirmed what we already knew about him: He is an arrogant, obnoxious, overbearing 69 year old manchild who relentlessly spews the lies that the socialist party is built upon.

Quite frankly, Bidden should be ashamed of himself. His meltdown would be a neverending source of humiliation for a man of integrity, maturity and intellect – which is precisely why he will view his childish behavior as a victory.

Thursday’s debate should be forever referred to as “Tantrumgate.”

OK, it is one thing to stammer, look down at the podium and act incredibly bored and disinterested as obama did with his debate with Romney. It is another thing to act like a buffoon and a boor as Biden did. Obama acted as though he did NOT know the material unless his teleprompter had the information for him to read. Bite Me actually lied about the Libya terrorist attack which resulted in the murder of our ambassador and three others. He did the classic democrat/oblamo act and blamed it on faulty intelligence, and not having had any knowledge of the multiple requests for additional security at that embassy….all the while Valerie Jarrett has TWO Secret Service personnel to protect her……and from what or who does this woman need protection from?
The rude one was Bite Me. His boorish laughing and constant interruptions (87 times!). His inappropriate actions were not only rude, as I and many others have said, but down right creepy.

You guys are so right! Biden won……….. the contest for the most obnoxious, ridiculous and offensive VP debater ever!

Let the fact checkers begin, because Mr Biden certainly took some huge liberties with the truth. Mr Ryan might also have made some claims that are less than 100 % truth, but on substance, I would vote Ryan 100 times out of 100 over Joe Biden.

Maybe Biden can find a part time job as a circus clown somewhere after November 6. He certainly has the grin for it!

You were either dozing or a clueless liberal. Or was it, the liberal host Martha Raddatz was so one sided for Biden, it hurt for you to watch and listen.

The Presidential Debate- Romney was polite, respectful, and presidential giving rebuttals to the Obama/Biden policies while explaining the Romney/Ryan vision for the country.
The VP Debate- Biden was disrespectful and continually interrupted with a weird demeanor to Romney/Ryan vision for the country.

By the way what are Obama/Biden details on the country’s issues that Raddatz kept asking Ryan to provide even after explanations? Continuing more of the same loser policies that will lead us down the road to Greece and Europe failed governments!

There is a huge difference between being assertive and factual and debating with well timed interruptions and the way Biden was behaving last night!
He did not make legitimate attempts to stop Ryan on facts and get permission from a moderator to get his points in, instead he was basically yelling over Ryan when it was Paul Ryan’s turn for his 2 minutes of answering time.
It was embarrassing, hopefully not many kids watched this horrible example in how to be an uncivilized “debater”.

I totally agree with that view, but… we need to be very careful not to walk into the trap to do exactly the same what Obama’s team just did last week: to just call the opponent a lier! Before you know it, we have lost our moral advantage, and reduced the battle to a kindergarten sandbox debate, YES, NO, YES, NO, he did, not he did and so on. It doesn’t help us one bit that way.

So… let’s instead find the lies by Biden, and expose them, one by one, peel away the layers of the onion, and prove those Dems wrong.

First off Edward L. Buddy King, it is rude and disruptive for anyone to interrupt the opposition when they are making a point.

However, it completely appropriate to immediately stop the opposition when they are claiming you said some thing you did not say, or hold a position you do not hold.

To be free from interruption one can paint the oppositions position and arguments anyway they want, but they are not free to put words in the others mouth or make up positions and try to hang them on the opposition.

This is the interruption Romney made in the debate with Obama

Biden’s interruptions were for the purpose of disrupting so any debate could take place at all. It is what would be expected from any loud mouth who has nothing to say and wants to bring the whole thing down to his level

I don’t know what you were watching but, it wasn’t Obama and Romney. I had My stop watch out and Obama went over the 2 minutes several times. Every time he held his finger or pencil up but the last time, the Moderator stopped Romney so Obama could speak. The last time the Moderator didn’t stop Romney as Obama had just talked for over 3 minutes and Romney was barely at a minute. all that aside. The choice is; Do you want a president that is taking us down the path of Socialism? do you want a president that borrows money from China to give to Arab countries? Are you willing to give up the First and Second amendments? Take the blinders Off! Get more information before it is to late. This isn’t about black and white. It is about the United States of America what it was yesterday and what it will be tomorrow, if things go this way for another 4 years we are in trouble. Democrats are using the race word left and right. Obama was elected with a majority of white votes. People don’t see change happening after 4 years! Realize too, Obama is Muslim.

Paul Ryan is a perfect example the kind of men of ability that Romney will put into the right place, at the right time to make a difference for American success, and he cares not which party they belong to or who gets the credit. Finally America will get the best men put into the right place of leadership, based on ability to produce results rather than ability to produce votes for the party based on class warfare or minority status. This election is a no brainer.

Edward, You are obviously an obama sycophant, incapable of rational thought. Obama’s poor performance is legendary even among the leftist talking heads. Biden continually interrupted and was rude, and outright lied, not only about Benghaze but about his voting record on Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as using Obama’s ridiculously inaccurate talking points. Biden was aided by the self-disgracing Raddatz who also interrupted Ryan and seem to debate him as well.

      Representative Ryan looked presidential (it isn’t capitalized) because he was calm AS HE ANSWERED THE QUESTIONS POSED, and;
      last week the … POTUS looked weak AS HE UMMMed HIS WAY AROUND ADDRESSING THE QUESTIONS (’cause he had no answers) and;
Gov Romney was presidential because he was assertive in wanting to have sufficient time and keep the debate on poing WITHOUT BEING rude towards both the moderator and the President, as Biden was last night.

“All’s fair in love and war.”

Sadly … so it goes with politics as well.

As the article points out, even if 82 interruptions and other such issues suggest a logical evaluation has to look through them and realize their non-substantive value … the fickle American people are not always that discerning. Add in the kool-aid drinkers and while I am obviously not an Obama/Biden supporter, it is important to know your opponent if you want to achieve victory.

In that regard, Biden was a “sly fox” who undercut the “young stud” … and mildly effective in doing so … even if it doesn’t meet standards of propriety or fairness. Biden didn’t necessarily provide a better debate … but he did put on a show that garnered him some brownie points with some people. That’s the reality, and as conservatives who aspire to speak the truth … imo, that’s the truth.

Obama-Nation is an Abomination largely because they practice deception and believe/perpetuate their own falsehoods. My choice for Romney/Ryan as a conservative is that we squarely understand the truth, and move forward from it to improve.

Thus … we have to squarely acknowledge that Biden achieved what he set out to do … undermine Ryan … anyway he could. So, if the interruptions and smirks, etc. were how the “sly fox” got it done … well, that’s the reality of what happened. We can’t quibble about how unfair it was … we have to move forward from it and regain any ground that was lost (although it wasn’t that much).

Obama-Nation is an Abomination … yet they are proving to be a worthy adversary that we still need to defeat. No “Boo-Hooing” they didn’t play fair. We simply must go forward and secure the victory. At the end of the day, we must regain control, despite their unfair, illogical, or even unethical approach … or the likes of what Biden showed us in the debate are simply destined for us to endure even longer. I’m not even going to begin to go down the “ethics in politics” road … it is a road straight to Pandora’s Box … I’d rather stay on how to navigate the road to victory. We should not let Biden’s tactics set us down a “slight of hand” path such that we go focus on the wrong thing … THAT’S WHAT THEY WANT US TO DO !

    Obama-Nation is an Abomination.

BTW … When I use the phrase “sly fox” … it is simply to imply that deceptions imparted by “misdirection” efforts of a magician/clown can be more effective at capturing an audience than the one who can explain how/why the trick isn’t real.

People don’t go to Vegas to learn how they were fooled by a show … they go to be entertained/mesmerized by allowing themselves to be fooled. Fools will be fooled … and Biden played to that.

The innocent viewer of these debates just watches a debate, often without understanding the substance. They watch it like a boxing match, waiting for blood to flow.
In that sense Biden got more hits in, but the question is how many of those blows were below the belt!
The referee (moderator) was not helping by letting the excessive amount of illegal blows (interruptions) go unpunished!

rustypat – the most common critique (even from liberal cnn) talked about biden’s smiling and smirking. Most commentators compared it to the Nixon-JFK debates, and the most common comment was: People who listened on radio would give victory to Biden; those who watche it on TV were put-off by Biden’s behavior.

Closing comments were telling. Biden continued playing the court jester while Ryan presented a serious and intelligent account of what America truly faces in this election.

You know what: the scariest thing about last nights debate was the fact that Joe Biden is only a heart beat away from being President. That fact alone should stand as the biggest deterrent to an assassination of Obama.Joe Biden was chosen by Obama’s to be his shield. The man is the village idiot from Scranton.

I do not think Biden’s clown act will affect the election one way or the other, but if it created MORE doubt in the minds of undecided voters about the unholy pair of ODUMBER/BIDEN, then that can only be good news.

I hope people stop telling me the media is not biased! I am watching CNN right now, and they say according to their poll that it is 48% Ryan, and 44% Biden. And they note that their poll has a 5 point margin of error. So now there is Jessica Yelin saying that, well in this case we’ll call it a draw then, and in case of a draw the president wins, because he really needs it to uplift his campaign. I probably will not watch the replay!

I watched most of the debate, but unlike most others, I didn’t expect anyone to change their minds based on what was said. Biden is a Democrat whose job last night was to ridicule Ryan, distract from his message, and lie about his policies in order to deflect attention away from Obama’s failed policies. Biden is a liar and he continued to lie last night.

The moderator should have asked Biden to clarify what he meant by “We did not know they wanted more security AGAIN”.

I was surprised Ryan was unprepared to handling Biden’s interruptions and condescending gestures. A simple statement like — Please stop interrupting and being so condescending — and repeating this, and louder, until he does, would have stopped him in his tracks. It would have made Ryan look respectful and considerate… a trait still valued by American voters.

I hope Romney will be prepared to respond should Obama use this tactic.

I feel your pain, but ultimately this was not Ryan’s job, but a fair moderator should have stopped this behavior by Biden!

Ryan was raised to respect your elders, and respect he showed. Yes, it took him to half way into the debate to ask Biden to stop the interruptions, and I too wish he would have done so sooner. But I hold him in high regard for taking the high road for that long!

The moderator was reasonably fair in her questions, but unfair in letting this rude nonsense continue for that long. Also, she cut off Ryan several times when he deserved rebuttal time after obvious misrepresentations by Biden.

      Agent007,
I agree with this assessment 100%. Biden was obviously the seasoned vet in this debate, but because the substance of his arguement is so bad he had to relegate to this Rude and Boistorus behavior like a bully on the playground. His contempt for Ryan showed right from the start and the Moderator just let it continue all the way to the end. My hat is off to Ryan for his professional behavior and his outright respect for his elder, even if he is senile. The fact checkers will straighten out fact from fiction, but the one fact will remain the same, Biden has no record to run on, and is afraid that Romney/Ryan will expose this administrations deceptions. Biden could have pooped his pants and run around in clown make-up and the left would have said he was “spectacular” today. He HAD to be spectacular to make up for Obama’s dismal performance in the last debate. They did all they could, Ryan was debating two people and the moderator was clearly working as hard as she could to swing it their way. Despite all of that, Biden came off looking like the king of fools, and a rude king of fools at that. Martha disgraced herself in front of the world by being the worst moderator ever and showing her complete bias. So what does the left do today? They do what they always do, declare a victory where none is to be found.

(On as side note: What is it about women on the left? How can they fall for this **** over and over again? From the conventions to the debates they turn up salivating over these guys like eighth-grade dimwits drooling over the high-school quarterback. It makes them look so stupid. As a woman, I am embarrassed by this. I remember a rock star from the 80′s saying in an interview that they call their teeny-bopper camp followers tissues, because they use them once and throw them away. That’s what I of think every time I see the dems using a woman to dumb herself down and play the fool to make them look better. From Rachel Maddow to Wassermann-Schultz to poor Martha, who acted like she couldn’t do enough to please her masters, they throw themselves under the bus to get their “guy” elected. Do they have any idea how they look to the rest of us?)

I have watched more debates than I want to say and this was the worse. The rudness, desrepect and childish behavior of a grown man who has “served” 30 years in government. He had to behave that way because he knew Ryan could beat him. The left has nothing to run on except to put down their opponent with lies and laughter. I had to quit watching for a few minutes to calm myself down so I could watch the rest of Joe’s antics. It was hard to listen to Ryan trying to say something with the double screen showing Joe making fun of the information trying to rattle Ryan who kept very well composed. The moderator (friend of -0)also interrupted Ryan constantly and would not let him finish. I will say one thing about Ryan; he should have come on strong against their aggressiveness. This was all a set up — it is all the left has to offer — lies and laughter. I pray the general public sees through the fiasco of the left.

We can assume, since in another story I read that Ryan had no less than NINE full-length practice debates, that he was well prepared for ANYTHING Biden did.

I think he knew that if Biden acted the way he turned to be, it would no take long for everyone to capitalize on it. He stayed unruffled, didn’t whine to the moderator, chastised Biden only once (and not right away, as that would be too wimpy and over-reactive) and then didn’t revisit the rudeness issue because anybody watching would see he made his point and wasn’t going to waste more airtime arguing about politeness. Let Biden hang himself and just get the message out, as a strategy, I think will play well in the coming days.

I might add, I am so pleased Ryan stayed focused enough to deliver the best straight-to-you-at-home, perfectly memorized, sincere Ziglar-esque sales-pitch closing I’ve seen in quite a while. I’m impressed.

What a jackass! The Dims should be VERY proud of selecting this idiot to be Vice President! But then when the President of the United States describes the attack on our embassy and slaughter of our ambassador a ‘bump in the road”, I guess that is about what you’d expect of them. Biden told provable lies about Libya and in the case of Iraq dangerous ones. Perhaps he was telling the truth when he said he always says what he means. But the left loves this…lie, bully whatever it takes. Ryan is very good but wish he had zinged Biden back in his condescending face.

Am going to read the transcript, swear I heard her say “but” to an answer Ryan had just given, that is someone attempting to refute, argue.

Ryan should have addressed Biden’s and Raddatz’ behavior from the start. People can only snipe from a hidden position, call them out early and remove their cover

I would love to see a moderator have more of the power of a referee, for example, and be able to give out “fouls” or “yellow cards” where the penalty for going over time or interrupting results in the other debater getting more time. If you exceed the maximum number of fouls, the other party gets to use ALL of the last segment for a closing remark.

Or perhaps you could have a panel of three moderators, and they can buzz in an “X” for every time a debater in segment says something obviously outrageous. It would be quite entertaining, and perhaps they would stay on topic and we could actually learn what their positions are.

I actually taped the debate after watching 5 minutes of it. I could not even watch it due to Biden. His total disrespect for Paul Ryan, the moderator and the American people was so disgusting. He looked like a Cheshire Cat with all his smiling, laughing, smirking and interruptions. He blatantly lied about Libya and about so many other things. He was a buffoon and a bully who came out of over compensate for a weak Obama performance. All he did was look rude, childish and much like an ***. I kept wondering if he would have bullied a male moderator and would have gotten away with going off script like that. He had both fingers pointed in her face at one point. He needs to be put in his place. But the fact that this moderator was a friend of Obama also was unfair.

I hope all the independents who were unsure of who they wanted to vote for watched this and saw Biden and his party for who they really are. Obama is going to have to answer to Libya. The democrats are letting people vote twice for Obama in some places too. Journalists went undercover and posed as voters and said they were going to vote twice. The democrats actually gave then a mail in ballot from a different state knowing they had intentions of voting in an entirely different state. This is worse than acorn. Or is this acorn all over again? Hmmmmm what ever happened to that investigation anyway? We will never have a fair election with this corrupt administration.

Great assessment of the debate, found myself in the first 30 minutes having to put the TV on mute.

Biden must have read the request wrong, as he and Obama have the economy, and thought he was to be on the ‘Jerry Springer Show’ rather than participate in a debate.

Armchair quarterback here: Some tips for Ryan: Consciously slow down your rate of speech and lower your voice just a couple of registers. It will give you time to think and calm you down at the same time.

Tip for Gov. Romney: when the Lie comes back up, pose a question: “If lowering top tax rates would result in more tax revenue, would you sign the bill that lowers it?” This will put the opponent in the position of abandoning his tax raise position or betray him as the class-baiter he is.

It was a good debate. Ryan tried to make sense. Biden is a typical contemporary Democrat: laugh at everything that you can’t defend yourself from. My mother-in-law had this method perfected. Biden just doesn’t know when to stop. So what’s new?

I personally think that, although his actions were despicable, Biden won the debate, and probably by a bigger margin than many give him. Aside from the laughing and smirks, he won on both substance and style, owing largely to his experience, but more to his position as VP. He knew and could say things, as VP, that Ryan could not, particularly about Afghanistan and Syria. I agree with the pull-out from Afghanistan except I would not wait until 2014, and as for Syria, we need to stay the hell out. Let them kill each other. Romney is pandering to the wrong crowd there.

Ryan also missed the opportunity to put some numbers to their economic plan. He should have explained, with charts if necessary, how lowering taxes would boost economic output, create jobs, and therefore increase TAX RECEIPTS (the LAFFER Curve), and lower the deficit. By now they should be able to spell this out MUCH better. He did not, and he needs to. It is what their campaign is based on.

**Should not be hard to do the math. Lower taxes means more workers and therefore more taxpayers and more revenue. Quantify this extra revenue and show how large tax increases on the wealthy are not necessary to sustain our gov’t and economy.**

I am still for Romney/Ryan ALL the way, but mostly because Obama is a lying, lazy, socialist, .

and yes, I may be a TROLL, but I am really a Viet Nam vet (Pleiku 67-68), retired US Army, and lifelong Republican (gave Romney $500 last week), except there isn’t a day go by when I don’t ask myself, could we have done better than Boehner as speaker. Maybe we can change that next January.

“I think you know what it is like to mis-state things” Ryan teased Biden about the 47% remark, to which Biden fired back, “I always say what I mean, and so does Governor Romney”

Yes, I’m sure he actually does really mean all those stupid comments that pop out off of the top of his head. “They’re gonna put y’all back in chains”……”Yes, we do plan to raise taxes by a TRILLION dollars”…and, of course the most cogent of all, “The middle class has been BURIED the last four years.”

Then of course the shocking admission on Benghazi that “We didn’t know they wanted more security.” If true and he really means that (doubtful IMO) then this is a BIG problem. Why don’t they know what everybody else knows? This is a revelation of gross incompetence on the part of the Obama administration. Of course we know that they DID know the actual situation, but failed to act and then lied to cover their lame derrieres. There should be an immediate impeachment of Obama. But then that would leave us with a laughing hyena/braying jackass as president for the next couple of months.

From the very beginning I noticed Biden’s smiles, chuckles, smirks, sneers and they got on my nerves. Then I noticed the moderator kept asking Ryan for specifics but not Biden. Then as the debate progressed Biden got on my nerves when he kept interrupting Ryan. What really ticked me off was when Biden said, “No additional security was requested for the embassy.” That was an out and out lie. The day before on national TV the House was holding a hearing about Libya and we hear that several people had requested more security. You would think that Joe’s handlers would have at least told Joe so that he would not look like such an idiot in the debates. Who would vote for a proven out and out liar again?

The one and only reason this debate was important is this: This jack*** – otherwise known as biden – would become president if something happened to hussain. We, the American people, needed to see what we would be getting just in case something happened and he became president. Could this fool actually meet with leaders from other countries and represent MY country? Absolutely NOT. What an embarrassment to the American people. biden reminded me of a 1950s used-car salesman – trying to sell a pile of ****. A laughing hyena also came to mind. On the other hand, Ryan was a perfect gentleman. He was respectful to a sick, old, used-up bag of *******. I believe that there is something seriously wrong with biden.

How the administration could have some idiot sit there acting with such disregard about the 4 outstanding Americans that were slaughtered because this administration didn’t think their lives were worth the money for more security. He sit there laughing with his ugly teeth hanging out and lies through those teeth that they didn’t know there was a request for more security. Proves Obama has been out on the trail setting himself up for November and golfing instead of being where he paid to be therefore does not know of the daily problems this country faces. I knew that Biden would be a buffoon during this debate. After all, he IS a buffoon and can’t help being what he is. But Ryan could not get a coherent sentence out for Biden’s interruption, and if he did not interrupt, then Obama’s pet moderator did. She constantly interrupted Ryan and/or changed the subject on him in mid-sentence trying to throw him off balance.

And, oh, yeah, did you notice that when Biden spoke, a good part of the time he was the only one showing on the screen, but when RYAN was trying to talk, it was ALWAYS the split screen showing Biden smirking and mugging for the cameras. The blinding glare from his freaking TEETH made it hard to concentrate on ANYTHING that was being said.

And everything Ryan said–when Martha wasn’t interrupting him–she was asking “gotcha” questions that clearly implied she doubted the truth of what he was saying. Why didn’t Biden get that treatment when he told the blatant LIE about “they didn’t know the embassy needed more security because nobody told them.”

The diplomatic cables from the embassy received BEFORE the attack were pleading for more security, and the ambassador himself said he felt his life was in danger. So Biden gets a pass for trying to blame ROMNEY for “politicizing” the embassy debacle while he blatantly LIES about how Obama administration incompetence and indifference caused those people to die?

I said before the RNC had to be NUTS to allow the debates to be stacked with these damned biased, so-called “journalists” from the mainstream media. Jim Lehrer did a great job as moderator and we had a fair debate. I guess now it’s back to business as usual covering Obama’s sorry a$$ no matter WHAT by the mainstream media.

There is being aggressive in getting your points across and then there is being just plain rude and obnoxious.I think it is part of the Chicago thug style tactic to talk over and interrupt so that Cong Ryan cant get his message across to voters! I think the moderator was even in on the “game” She rudely interrupted Cong Ryan many times and at one point both she and Biden seem to be ganging up on Ryan!

In addition to being rude and obnoxious. He was also arrogrant. there was a point where he was jutting his jaw to Cong Ryan which to me looks very arrogrant (not sure if any of you caught this moment) So he thinks that it is amusing that we are in debt to our eyeballs and that AQ is on the rise and Iran closer to going 100% nuke.

Since Biden said that he has a habit of telling the truth when Cong Ryan said about the “wrong” thing coming out of one’s mouth, therefore my conclusion is all those “gaffes” that Biden made were not gaffes, eg he was telling the truth when he said the middle class has been buried during the past four yrs, under BO policies!

I was encouraged by Paul Ryan stating that the Romney/Ryan presidency is going to inherit a mess TOO, only they are prepared to take responsibility and get the job done – use their experience and know-how to do the hard work – instead of blowing it off, failing, and then blaming someone else.
Biden indicates the reason they failed is because they inherited a mess and it was not their responsibility. How pathetically inept. If any one of us did this in our jobs, we would be canned!

The ones who will really inherit a mess are the ones who follow Obama/Biden. If they get 4 more years will…….
After the Bush tax cuts we had prosperity for over 4 years. Then the Dems won control of both the Senate and House in the 2006 mid term elections. The cause of the recession wae housing brought on by Barney Frank and others. Bush warned of this. Obama, Biden and Hillary were in the Senate…..so Obama helped to create the so called mess he inherited. On purpose? You rarely hear this from Reps. They are afraid to say anything good about Bush. This was caused by the media constantly putting down and blaiming Bush.
Romney is a problem solver that rare person who goes towards problems not away. Reagan inherited a worse situation than Obama but by this time in office he had the country moving.

Is this really the person we want a heartbeat away from the President? Can you imagine what other world leaders would do if he started ridiculing them and laughing when they were giving a speech he didn’t agree with? That would go over big in the Middle East countries. To me Biden displayed the same level of contemptuous arrogance his boss did during his debate, Biden through his smirks and Obama through his unwillingness to engage or even look at his opponent. Neither one of them took their opponents seriously, probably because of their own narcissistic sense of self-importance and superiority. I think they are both still living in that moment from four years ago at that Denver stadium with the Greek columns and cheering crowds. They believe they are still held in the highest esteem by the majority of Americans and that no one should have the right to challenge their place at the top of the mountain we call the White House.

If ever there was someone in desperate need of a “Donald Trump moment” it would be the moderator last night – she deserved to hear the words “You’re fired” for her performance. Not only did she allow Biden to continually interrupt Ryan, and not only did she go after Ryan while deferring to Biden, but the final straw for me was that she carried on “side-bar” discussions with Biden while Ryan was speaking – that is beyond unprofessional! She was a complete joke. Biden reminded me of Carter against Reagan – he had nothing to go against the facts, so he just stood there and smirked. That’s really what Biden did last night. However, that said, I was disappointed in Paul Ryan’s performance. He presented all of the facts, in a calm and agreeable manner which supposedly is critical in attracting undecided and swing voters; however, he allowed Biden to get away with too many unanswered rebuttals, and he allowed the moderator to run over him again and again. I think it showed Ryan’s inexperience – he could have spoken up forcefully and still come across as respectful. I just hope that Mitt continues what he started and takes it all the way to the finish line. I fear that the next two moderators will really cross the line and exhibit their bias – even more so than Martha did last night – and Romney will need all of his skill to take it home. The facts and the truth are on our side, but people have to be able to hear the truth in order to recognize it. Last night Ryan did not make himself heard. Romney did and must continue to do so.

I have to give Ryan a great Job, by not pouching Biden out, Biden was so rude, Obama and Biden do not have a record to run on so they are trying every thing they can to distract, and altar what is important Jobs and the economy. AS Vice President if that is all we can get we are in deep trouble, for all you that voted for that ticket I pray that you have been paying attention for the last four years and see what a mess Obama has put us in, and it was not all Buch’s fault Clinton depleated the Military so bad that when we went to war a lot of money had to be spent to just protect our men and women fighting.

In Watching the Debate…the Leftist Martha Raddach let Biden Talk at will and consistently cut Paul Ryan off. This is Leftist **** in action. She should NOT be “moderating” this debate. She has an interest is seeing the Obama Socialist Ticket win. She is the most Irresponsible and Unfair Debate Moderator EVER! Her performance is reprehensible.

She needed to tell Joe “The Twit” Biden to shut the hell up at times. Instead she let the Idiot Biden get the last word in EVERY TIME! It was Biden AND Raddach Vs Paul Ryan!

She NEVER interrupted Biden or asked him a SPECIFIC question. She and Biden ganged up on Ryan.

Biden is a Jerk. She is worse.

This debate is undoubtedly going to make for one hilarious opening sketch on Saturday Night Live tomorrow night. Seth Myers couldn’t ask for better material than Joe Biden has given him! I just see Jason Sudeikis as Biden laughing compulsively and acting like the buffoon that he was.

I hope you are right. SNL have been doing some good sketches recently aimed at Obama. I saw a hilarious one where Obama was at a town hall trying to convince a bunch of unemployed people that they were better off than they were 4 years ago. After the shameless Palin stuff in 2008 I had written SNL off as shameless leftist hacks, but it looks as if they are beginning to see how ludicrous the current administration is.

I rarely watch SNL anymore (too many sketches that might’ve been funny had they been cut off MUCH sooner than they were), but they are definitely on top of their game during political season. will have to check it out tomorrow night.

This debate was a farce. The moderator let the interruptions go on and on and Ryan was too nice to allow it. Biden was condescending and acting like a smiling jerk throughout.

When Ryan was in the middle of making a point Biden would suddenly jump in with his comments. The lack of professionalism from the moderator to allow this during the debate is stunning. There was no winner in this debacle…only confusion.

Oh, I disagree with you about there not being a winner! Ryan won hands down, in that he was a total gentleman and didn’t ever lose his cool. He remained calm when a lesser man would have knocked those big, corn-row teeth down the throat of that sorry biden. I think that Paul Ryan was great. He could not win on every point, but he won on as many as biden did. AND, he is relatively new to the game, and this was his first debate. biden has been around the political world for longer than Ryan has been alive, and he SHOULD know how a debate is handled. Another thing is that Ryan was up against that sorry lying *****, and that sorry moderator. He had an up-hill battle from the first second – and he did well. Both biden and the sorry moderator continually interrupted Ryan and would not let him even finish many sentences. As I said, Paul Ryan won hands down, as far as I am concerned.

This debate has a clear message. Obama and Biden want to win at all costs to them lying and misinformation is exceptable and the new face of the Democratic Party. Biden mentioned that he and Obama did not know that the killings at the US Embassy in Libya was a act of terrorisim and they were not informed right away Bidens comments were an outright lie. This debate was a cesspool of lies and misinformation much like a debate that would be held in Russia or China. Marsha Raddatz was exposed for her position at ABC News and its left wing socialist agenda.I have never seen a more biased debate by a moderator in all my watching of Presidential debates. Paul Ryan was interrupted 82 times and Marsha allowed this to continue during the exchange between the candidates. How could anyone win a debate when a moderator has showed her favorism for Biden. If you wonder why we need to restore America to its pre Obama years this debate is clearly a wakeup call to remove Obama and Biden to stop the assult on the integrity of truth. Joe Biden performance was so disgusting and unpresidential. Any exceptance of this kind of behavior by a leader of this nation is most disturbing and the future of our children is in serious trouble if we have four more years of this assult on Americas values by Obama and Biden. Watching Joe Biden last night reminded me of my self. Like Joe. I laughed at everything he thought he was saying. Knowing how much he, and Mister Obama depend on LIES to Impress those Americans…possibly those 47 Percent, who are so educationally challenged, and unable to actually THINK for themselves.
Mister Biden did all of America a huge favor last night. He helped to prove. When you repeat a lie often enough. Even Joe believes them.

Bidden was the clear winner of the debate. His bounce to the string gestures, his constant laugh, even at serious moments, his disgusting smile, and ( that is so untrue stare) were on full display.
He is the comedian which is put in just after a terrible act, to try and soothe the audience, and clearly kept the stage, with his constant butting in, so that Ryan could not complete his points. His point was to try and keep Ryan off his game, with his jerky actions, and butting in strategy. He knew full well that he could not out wit, out play, nor out last Ryan in a heads up debate on the issues, so his main strategy, game plan, and objective, was to keep Ryan from being able to complete his points, and or answers. His jack-in-the-box antics, and his natural ability to make people laugh with him, as well as at him, clearly put his name in the winners circle.
Unfortunately for him, that meant to clown over the questions, and keep Ryan off his game, not to be straight forward with his own answers/comments.

You must have been too busy being entertained by the lying clown fool than to listen to what was being said. Biden lied about Medicare Advantage plans and the $716 Billion he said Obama put it back into Medicare; Biden lied about his voting record; he lied about AEI facts; he lied about Libya; GM is not doing well and the taxpayers are stuck with the bill, dealers who didn’t donate to Obama lost their dealerships, nonunion workers lost their retirement, GM has moved a plant to Mexico, and Romney DID propose guaranteed private loan to GM; Biden lied about taxes not being raised on anyone earning under $1 Million. Biden’s constant interruptions did not reflect well on Biden, nor did his laughing when Ryan was discussing the 4 Americans murdered in Libya and other serious issues.

Perhaps next debate you will listen to what is being said instead sitting back and being “entertained.”

Americans were the clear loser in that debate. Ryan passed the ultimate test of control and self-respect.

Biden won nothing. All he did was make Maddow squirm in her chair and Mathews wiz down his leg. He satisfied his base. Those votes were never going away. The independents saw something ugly, unstable and out of control. The opposite of “Presidential”. Last night Joe Biden lost way more than a debate.

Sorry, you apparently misunderstood my post. I did not mean Bidden literally won, I merely meant that he kept the stage through his tomfoolery. He won nothing, but the clown award. He did, however, keep Ryan from being able to put his points totally across. Had Ryan had the chance to complete his answers without interruption, he would certainly have stolen the show. I think there were no real winners, but I would most certainly have to give the nod to Ryan, and the fools award to, and played very well by, Bidden.
The media clearly believes Bidden was the winner of the evening. But of course, what else could they say. They are in Nobamas pocket.
Bidden is in the pocket of his boss, and was there to try, however unsuccessfully, to soothe over some of the blatant loss suffered by Nobama in his debate with Romney.
