Wow! Just when Barack Obama and all the left-wing moonbats are trying to pivot away from their dismal record on the economy, jobs, and the debt by portraying themselves as "the party of women," the Democratic National Convention has announced that all children, including nursing babies, will be banned from the convention floor. Does this sound like a party looking out for moms around the country?
As reported by LifeSiteNews.com, the convention rule that the Democrats plan to implement will "bar children, including breastfeeding babies, from entering the event without being credentialed."
Critics say that officials for the event slated to begin Sept. 4 in Charlotte make it difficult for moms to credential their children, leaving delegate moms at a loss as to how to provide for their tots.
And if the ruling isn't ridiculous enough for Obama to have to defend (and hopefully the media will question him on it), he will also be taking heat from feminist groups blasting the DNC on its policy against moms with children.
The Charlotte Observer includes a statement by feminist Gloria Steinem in which she says: "Women are the key to a Democratic victory, and sometimes, children are the key to women. It's both right and smart for the Democratic Convention to behave as if children exist."
Lindsey Horvath, president of the Hollywood NOW chapter, said the convention policy "creates an insurmountable barrier for mothers ... to participate in the process of choosing a presidential candidate."
The rules for the Republican National Convention put no such limitation on moms who are attending as delegates.
So the Democrats are the party of women, eh? If even feminist groups like NOW are protesting, then Barack Obama and the Democrats really have it bad.
To tell moms that they need not apply to be a delegate, because their children will not be welcome, is a slap in the face to any mom out there. How about if these moms support a party that doesn't try to single them out for political gain, but rather look at them along with all other Americans as important?

The media will not question this because polls have shown that mothers tend to be pro Romney while young unmarried women tend to support Obama.

While I love the hypocrisy here — the party of women defenders turning up their noses at moms — I can’t help wondering what kind of a parent would drag kids and babies onto the convention floor! It’s chaotic enough without adding wailing infants and rowdy kids to the mix. I wonder what the GOP policy is … will have to check that out!

Isn’t this funny in light of the fact that the Republicans never thought for one minute to have this rule at their convention? This should go over great with the Democratic base. I can’t wait for this story to hit the media. The MSM will undoubtedly avoid covering it, but Fox News will have a field day.

Typical and common. However, I read that the GOP had planned to have the Director of Focus Adolescent Services, Focusas.com,( different from and seperate entirely from that Focus on the)speak in Tampa. That decision had been made two years ago, before the “war on women,” and all the W.H. jive on “families.” Focusas.com has been saving the lives of American children for decades and they know their stuff. I like it that they are also an NGO and refuse, as well, to register as any type of 501(c) a non-profit paid for by you and me, the lowly tax-payer. Any way the GOP canceled her speech on how to work to save the children in our country; cause and effect, waste of government spending, and how to better use our money and really get the job done. They were also going to “pass-the-plate,” in order to help FAS raise funds for their work. I do not know why it was canceled except perhaps the storm, no the hurricane storm.

The DNC must be planning to use the XXX rating material that is not suitable for children to hear grown-ups use, just like the liberal media uses from shows like Rachel Maddow and Ed Schultz and the DNC will not denounce that. A lot of fodder comes from their mouths but I guess that it is good for green environmentalists.

Christians unite! We have got to get this bunch out of power or our country is going down. I know we are all angry and talking a lot, but I also hope we are talking to everyone we can about voting and about Conservative values. The demorats will win again if we don’t all pull together and get our people voting and active. We have to out vote the dead people this time.

Couldn’t the Fathers stay with the children in the rooms? My wife and I shared responsibility for the children. If the child is breastfeeding, she could pump some milk, and he could feed the child. Democrats act like Mothers are not supposed to have husbands.
One the good side, protecting the child from the NOISE on the floor will definitely be better for the child’s hearing and general health.

The Republicans allow families to work it out if they have to, or want to, bring their kids along with them to Tampa. Because Tampa is close to Disneyworld, the trip to the Convention can be also a family vacation, and one or the other parents or Grandparents will work it out. Many may bring their children into the convention center if seating allows, etc. This position on women and children at the DNC taken by the Dems just highlights another example of the hypocrisy within the liberal mentality and the Democratic political party at large.

If I were attending the convention, I would not want children running around screaming anyway. Nor would I ever in my wildest dreams assume it would be an acceptable place to take my children. Older teens and young 20′s yes – but prior to that they are bored, and disruptive. Can you say Day Care?

I took my daughter who was six at the time to a local convention and also to the local caucus. We homeschool and it is an integral part of her civics education. She was attentive, asked me questions, enjoyed meeting candidates (especially hearing a presidential candidate speak), got a chance to hear her mom get up and speak at the caucus, and now has a much better understanding of how the political process works. If I were going to the Natl. Convention I’d take her along too. If they are learning they don’t have time to be bored. Perhaps one day she will be inspired to run for office herself.

This is something entirely new. I lived during and remember the 60′s very well. Even in those times of social upheaval such talk was rare. America is ready to fight back.

Talk is cheap. Their actions show what they really believe, and they really believe that children are a burden that have to be dealt with. Also, it’s evidently OK for the American taxpayer to pay for all kind of programs including free day-care for the masses, but it’s not OK for the Democratic National Convention to pay for free day-care for their delegates. Children do act childish at times (surprise) and it would be kind to them and also to the attendees if the little ones could have a place of their own where they could be comfortable and safe. If the little children could vote I think the policy might be reconsidered.

It’s a good thing children won’t be there, considering the OWS element will be there and we know how they behave! We don’t want children witnessing pooping on cop cars and in the streets, open drug use, public sex, all those things the OWS is uniquely known for.
