Obama Defends Biden's 'Chains' Remark, Silent on Left-wing Shooter

Wednesday was a very revealing day if you want to know what Barack Obama is all about. There were two incidents, both deserving of comment. In one, Obama revealed so much about his true character with the words he said. In the other, Obama possibly revealed even more by what he didn't say.

First, let's talk about the shooting at the offices of the Family Research Council. It was the breaking news story of Wednesday, and it certainly garnered the attention of politicians and the public alike. Check out the details of the shooting from the AP story on GOPUSA.

Shortly after the shooting, GOP presidential candidate issued a statement expressing his sorrow for what happened:

"There is no place for such violence in our society," he said. "My prayers go out to the wounded security guard and his family, as well as all the people at the Family Research Council whose sense of security has been shattered by today's horrific events."

What did Barack Obama say in his statement? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Why? Because he issued no statement.

Later in the day, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney was asked about Obama's reaction and said that Obama was notificed and "expressed his concern for the individual injured." That's it. If the security guard hadn't acted, this left-wing wacko could have wounded or killed many people.

Next we have the incident which I reported yesterday where Joe Biden told a largely black audience that Mitt Romney and the Republicans were "going to put y'all back in chains."

I didn't realize they say "y'all" in Delaware.

So... what does Obama say about this one? He defends it! That's right... as reported by the Associated Press, in an interview with People Magazine, Obama said "Biden's remarks meant consumers would be worse off if Republicans succeeded in doing away with new restraints on financial institutions."

"In no sense was he trying to connote something other than that," Obama said.

"The truth is that during the course of these campaigns, folks like to get obsessed with how something was phrased even if everybody personally understands that's not how it was meant," Obama told the magazine. "That's sort of the nature of modern campaigns and modern coverage of campaigns. But I tell you, when I'm traveling around Iowa, that's not what's on people's minds."

Ah right... what's on people's minds are things like the economy, jobs, the debt, maybe even these rising gas prices. Talking about those issues, Mr. President? Or perhaps you're still harping on tax returns and Bain Capital. That sure is a solid campaign platform!

Paul Ryan didn't dismiss the remarks as easily as Obama did. As Fox News reports, Ryan told Sean Hannity that Biden's remark were a sign of a "desperate campaign."

"You know, these are the kinds of things you say when you're desperate in a campaign," Ryan said of Biden's comments. "I think you're going to hear more of these things as we go on because they have a terrible record and can't run on it so they're going to kind of sink this campaign to these low levels to distract people.

"To try and you know, stoke the emotions of fear and envy, and it's just not going to work. People are going to see through this. We've gone from hope and change to anger and division and blame and attack and I think people are going to see through this," he said.

So there you have it. Obama jumps to the defense of Biden, but silent about a shooting that grabbed national attention. Two events and two of the most revealing responses from Obama.

    I heard Biteme when he made the hair-brained remark on C-span and he was not referring to anything else than ‘puttin y’all back into chains’ to his mostly black audience. He made his voice to sound like Southern drawl to accentuate his point. Now we hear what ‘he really meant.’ People need to remember and take into account that it was a REPUBLICAN president that signed the Emancipation Proclamation; not the Dems. If Dems had have had their way slaves would still be slaves. And when you stop to consider: The Dems have made ‘slaves’ out of free people with their ‘handouts’ and obligatory offerings. O what a price many are paying for the pitiful pittance that is given to ‘buy’ them.
    Wake up and vote in the Nov. election for Romney / Ryan.

      Many a true word is spoken is jest, and many a true meaning is spoken by a Biden slip of the tongue, or an Obama ignoring of an issue important to the people that his failure in office has failed to address and might just cost him an election. When you get into bed with these Liberals sexually and they impregnate you with an a baby, followed by becoming a parent of an aborted dead baby,,,,,so also when you climb into bed politically and they impregnate your brain and you become a slave of their ideology, you soon become the parent of a dead county, and a slave of a dead ideology that entraps your soul in dependency, an ideology foreign to all that represents the concept of being a free American.

      That does not impress southerners to use the word “y’all”. Actually, they consider that a slap in the face. Biden said exactly what he mean and meant what he said. INgteresting, Obama couldn’t even commment ont he shooting incident just as he said nothing about the shooting at Fort Hood and referred to that as “a workplace incident.” right, is that another name for a terrorist attack? I don’t think so. ehat an empty, shallow man he is.

      inluminatuo, please correct me if I’ve gotten the wrong impression about the poking of fun at Michelle Obama’s name. I’ve always taken it as calling her a cow because certain people have made fun of her looks, which I believe were based on racism. Are saying it’s more based on the fact as you stated that she’s a moocher and enabler of moochers?

      By the way, I’m a conservative Constitutionalist who wants to see Obama and company impeached or voted out of office. Thus I don’t want to us give an excuse for sympathy for the Obamas and their fabian socialism.

      I don’t know about anybody else, but I make fun of her because she’s a spoiled, entitlement minded, hate filled, divisive, self-absorbed racist pig who thinks it’s all about her and the world owes her a living due to her being melanin privileged. If there’s any doubt about my accusations, take a look at her master’s thesis from Princeton. She is fashion challenged as to choice of apparel and appropriateness of those choices to the occasion. Putting expensive clothes on her redefines the expression, “Lipstick on a pig”. Making fun of her looks is not based on racism other than slamming hominids who, with so much potential, allow themselves to write off mirrors as liars and believe their inflated self image is reality. Black, white, yellow, tan, red, whatever. No matter the color the chassis shouts, “Blivet!”

      Personally, my pet name for her is “Me-me-mechelle”. Is that better as not referring to the bovine? Incidentally, I always thought Moochelle was a take on “moocher” as referenced by Ayn Rand, along with “looter”, both of which describe the soon to be former First Lady who needs a staff of 53, whose salaries we pay, to make her presentable for public appearances and keep her from speaking whenever she refuses to take her meds.

      Whoops! I was wrong and I’m big enough to admit it. I just saw a show on TV about the Little Black Dress and…wait for it…Me-me-mechelle is the most elegant First Lady since Jackie O. Yep, you heard me right. She’s such an elegant trend setter that she had her official White House portrait done with her wearing a “Little Black Dress”, or maybe a Plus Size Black Dress. Michelle O is not elegant, and she made a statement after BHO was in office, that “For the first time I am proud of America”. Oh man, that sent me into orbit!       I remember that statement of hers, but being originally from Chicago, I know all about the Cook County Democratic Machine and was all over these clowns from day one and knew about Bill and Bernardine and the Weather Underground.       Every time I think I have a handle on human stupidity, I find that I’ve been overly optimistic and the ’08 election caused me to drop my estimation several magnitudes.

      Being the first baby boomer, I had the luxury of spending my youth in America’s Second Golden Age (’45-’63) and have to admit that I took it for granted. It wasn’t until the SE Asian War Games that I found that most of the world wasn’t like the US. Living and working in Germany as a civilian in the early ’70s and seeing other parts of Europe reinforced that impression. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t give thanks for having been born here.

      I’m not counting my chickens on the outcome of the election, but I am visualizing an American Renaissance. We really must have gotten on the wrong side of the Chinese to have had them lay the old, “May you live in interesting times,” curse on us.

      nhpollack: I am visualizing a Renaissance with you! Regarding the Chinese curse…we owe them a LOT of money and that makes me very unsettled.       dana64, not only have the Democrats dissed Mrs. Romney, but they’ve also called Romney and Ryan murderers, liars, felons, tax cheats, and racists wanting to enslave blacks. They accused a reporter of heckling Obama yet they’ve done far worse to Romney and Ryan. Furthermore, they’ve already tried to rush a stage when Ryan was addressing a rally and I for one believe it was orchestrated by Axelrod although I have no proof. They’ve used the “C” word against Republican women and even have said some should be raped. We also already know that the ACORN and SEIU types will resort to violence and destruction of property to disrupt their opponents.

      Likely the campaign will get far worse. But does that justify us conservatives responding in kind as gbmagnus asked? There’re more than enough provable reasons to not vote for Mr. (intentional) Obama. Heck, there’re dozens of reasons to justify impeaching him. So let’s not sink to the level of the Mayor Daley Chicago Mob style of politics.

      Biden was referring to Paul Ryan’s and Romney’s statement about unshackling the Power of American Capital and industry. I suppose if Romney tells Republican he is going to unleash the power of their brains and earning ability to the recapture American Economy and our Freedoms, he is calling them all dogs who have needed to be put on a leash?????,,,,,no it is the Democrats who have leashed the productive Americans in their mindless regulation that kills businesses and handcuffs our production capabilities by pulling managers off the production lines to push paperwork that produces nothing productive, but only provides the government with intimate company secrets and new venues for their wealth theft schemes that they can tax and appropriate in more shackling liberal assaults.

    Please dont find an excuse for the gaffe machine. I listened to his remarks several times. I looked at the facts, ie the way he said it, his audience, the location and the history. Biden meant everyone he said and he meant to frighten blacks to thinkn and believe that the GOP candidates, Gov Romney and Cong Ryan want to enslave blacks! This is disgusting and not a chirp from NAACP nor Al Sharpton or Jessie Jackson.

    I doubt that we will get to know much about Mister Corkins, the shooter. Already the media is cleaning up the crime scene. That kind, gentle Floyd Corkins was involved in GAY anything, well that helps. A witness said of the shooter, that he appears to be a light skinned Black man, well… nothing to see here, move along, move on dot com. Oh, I forgot, The New Yorker said that guns were the problem… . They know better than us.

    The 1860′s, are tossed around so casually, because little is shared of the hard crystal facts, save for smoke & mirrors. I am not so sure that any unchained perusal of Lincoln, will get the desired Poster Boy that I see forever being paraded about. August 14th marks the day that the first group of Blacks held audience with Lincoln in the White House, after the Emancipation, in Delaware, STILL a slave holding State, late in a total war, that extinguished the lives of some 750,000+ lives. (latest stats from a group in New York). The meeting was not a happy one. I wonder why?

    And both Political Parties have played the hand out game to minorities. If I recall, Nixon was the instigator in Affirmative Action & Reagan expanded it. The largess of government has come from both parties, though, The LEFT –socialists…, take over of the Democrat Party, has lifted pandering, expansion of government, of power, to an orbital like elevation.

    Hopefully, Romney & Ryan can avoid entanglements with the Hydra Headed PAST, and march neatly forward with a clean slate. With idiots like Biden, and a no nothing FRAUD like Obama, they can rely on their own accomplishments, their own sharp intelligence and wit, and seize the day in November.

      Thanks for a good history lesson. Let’s also not forget that when Wilson became president he re-segregated the military and introduced Jim Crowe to the government right down to requiring separate bathrooms for whites and blacks in government buildings.

      In addition, We should remember it was the Democrat Party who led the South out of the Union over the issue of slavery. It was the Democrat Party which started the Klu Klux Klan to terrorize blacks and abolitionists after the ?Civl War.

      It was a Democrat governor who stood in the door way of a high school and said segregation for ever. It was a Republican president who sent troops to open schools to blacks. It was another Democrat governor who stood in the doorway of a college trying to keep black students out. That time it Democrat Pres. JFK who stopped him.

      It was the Democrat Party that resisted Pres. Johnson on civil rights and tried to filibuster the Civil Rights Bill, but it was the Republicans who voted by a far wider margin for the Civil Rights Act which allowed it to pass. Under JFK, the Democrats had stopped the bill.

      It was the Democrat House that allowed a Democrat Klu Klux Klan Grand Kleagle to sit in Congress longer than any other senator. It was a Democrat who was the only senator to vote against Marshall and Thomas nomination to the supreme Court.

      So we must ask, is the Democrat Party the party of racial equality or is it the party of a racial and economic plantation?

      Well, the DEVIL is in the details per history, recce1. The Democrat Party is vastly different from that of the 19th Century, and so too, the Republican Party. Lincoln’s opinions on racial equality are, shall we say to be polite, interesting.

      The South leaving, in an election that Lincoln got 39% of the vote… has been ground down to the cleanly moral, Godly superior neatness of slavery. End of discussion, none needed nor desired. Move along or else. At the beginning of the war, it was about, revenue, a House divided bla bla bla. England, separated from it’s Colonies, was greatly amused at the wonton carnage by the North on the South… Karl Marx, someone that Lincoln corresponded with, was all for the war, as it was a start to something far and away, bigger… .

      As your can surmise, NOT a simple subject… and we could whirlwind debate… politely, I would hope.

      It is just my suggestion that Romney & Ryan, not get overly moribund in stating history this, or history that, lest they have their posteriors handed to them. Here, I guess, simple quick, POLITE, platitudes would be best.

      Most politicos that I have met, are not well versed in history, and sadly, The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, or The Bill of Rights. Hopefully R & R are fluent in the constructs of what makes for our Representative Republic, at least. My guess is that they are. But history is another bag of worms all together.

      (Have met Rep. Shelia Jackson Lee, curious name, you know the one that wondered if the Mars Rover photographed Neal Armstrong’s flag that he left there? Yes, she said that. Getting dizzy again…)

      Obama & Biden are such blowhards, lots of smoke, no fire. R & R should have a field day clearing the clouds away and pointing out the FRAUD the Zeros that constitute the unloyal opposition. It is my hope that R & R can, as much as Reagan did, as the Tea Party has, redefine, reshape the Republican Party.

    They used to say that when Nixon talked about “law & order” he was using code words that only whites would understand. I’m not sure what message we were supposed to be getting because I was not given a decoder ring. Truth is, Democrats held up civil rights legislation for decades (yes, even St. Lyndon stopped civil rights legislation). And Nixon started affirmative action, EEOC and integrated the vast majority of southern schools. Yet they accuse him of using racist code words.

    But we’re not supposed to read any race baiting into Biden’s words. Who exactly were held in chains in our society? Black slaves, that’s who. So who would be ostensibly going back in chains? Why, consumers of course, right? Obama makes me very angry.

When obama spoke up in defense, they were BOTH sugar-coating the true intent of the comment to make you believe what they are ‘saying’ is true.     Hello good people, new member here. I have such a heavy heart today, I am grief stricken that we live in a nation whose leader allows Christians and conservatives to be persecuted and shot without saying a word. Obama has used Executive Order to implement his DREAMact and put illegals over the Americans that are here struggling with unemployment, over-burdened social systems, and we just have to sit and take it. I am writing this with tears streaming down my cheeks. My daughter, a college sophomore has dreams, too. My husband and I are watching our dreams burn. I am a brokenhearted Mom for Mitt. I love this nation, with every fiber of my being. She has been so, so good to me. I wanted her to be there for my child, but we are a part of society that the Democrats hate. Just a family with good, traditional values, God loving, hard-working family-oriented people…and now we feel persecuted and unwanted. Sorry for my rant, it’s not really a rant, just me putting my feelings and heart out there for anyone, just anyone to see. I feel very alone.

Your views are are shared by a majority of Americans and that fact is what the dumbocrats are working hand over fist to obfuscate. (And, sadly, they are doing quite a good job of it.)       There is true hope come Nov. It is not too late for all of us to right the direction of a ship heading towards the deadly whirlpool. For those who voted BO, it is not too late but hear this, November is our last call. If BO wins, this country and all of our lives would be fundamentally changed forever. So the choice cannot be clear enough.

      Bill, Sister, pypy and The Dove: Thank you so very much, your kindness to me means a lot, and you reassurance does as well. I’m still very tearful, seeing my beautiful daughter’s young hopeful face both brightens my day and tears at my heart. I know I’m not alone, I know all of you are likely experiencing a lot of emotion as we head to November. I live in Alabama, a historically “red” state, but with a LOT of anger directed at white people in Birmingham. I was born in ’64, and in my life, have never been a racist, but I pay for the sins of others daily. It’s hard to be here, let me say that much, and there are rumors of dangerous riots, PROMISES of such from certain groups, and it’s all a bit much. I have a Romney/Ryan sticker on my car, and it was vandalized with me in it last week. I tried to talk to the newspaper about it, no luck…they are very biased as I am finding most media is. I am committed to standing up for what I believe is right and I am glad I found you guys, I may have a weak moment now and then, but I’m not giving up! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for the much-needed encouragement. I plan to enjoy sharing with you all in the upcoming months and years!

You’ve got heart and enough strength of character to share your feelings with people who were formerly strangers, but are now your extended family.

I was reading some online newspapers this morning, and the weak arguments about tax returns, and other non-issues the democrats keep harping on are so small compared to the destruction of our nation that is taking place, and they are so blind! They use the tiniest things to deflect the real problems with their precious “leader” and I am both shocked and sickened at how uneducated and misguided much of the public is.

      I think in November, TRUTH and DIGNITY will prevail at the polls. Most Americans are very unhappy right now, with the state our nation is in. Common sense must prevail, for those that are undecided. The tired rhetoric of the Democrats is getting boring, even to some of them…I see it. I have personally repented for not being more of a stand-up person against the moral decline of our nation. All that is changing, however, for there are many things about Barack Hussein Obama that have awakened and enlightened me, and I see things more clearly than ever before.       The Founders in their experiment in self representative government were clear that a MORAL–Religious People were at the heart of successful self governance. They constantly talked about this. They saw the decline and demise of Nations, such as Rome… and concluded that a Moral People had to exist if the The Republic was to exist and not decline into tyranny… .

      And I cannot recall that anything has been said per race, by Romney. Ever since Obama popped into existence, race this and that, has been thrown about, used, by Executive Decree pandered to, and by The Department of “Justice” freely discriminated for, on one group, and attacked for another group. I could use some simple words here, but that would be frowned upon.

      Doing what is right for The Republic is the important goal. If that is racist, so be it. The whole race word is a control word for the LEFT to beat into submission, opposition.     Establishing a rapport by identifying with the group to which one is speaking is an effective tactic. As ridiculous as Hillary Clinton sounded during the campaign of 2008, attempting some ethnic identification, and the VEEP did in doing the same thing, you would think that it would not be a repeated tactic, especially in the age in which we live with the sensitivity that is usually displayed regarding it. What people of the same ethnicity do in their own company is done on the basis of mutual understanding and can not be assumed by outsiders of other ethnicities or racial identifications. It is interesting how inclusive liberal democracy is.

      I’d just love to see La Clinton in Florida addressing a group of elderly Jews and swapping kreplach and cholent recipes while telling them how much she’s kvelling over the nachas her daughter’s marriage is giving her. I went to high school with her where she was two years behind me and a Young Republican. While the years haven’t been very kind to her, she wasn’t much better then. As one of about half a dozen Jews, in a school of about 3500 WASPs from Park Ridge, IL, high school wasn’t a whole hell of a lot of fun and I encountered less anti-semitism when living and working in Germany in the early ’70s than I did at her alma mater, Maine Township High School.

    The whole campaign thing is a loss of dignity from the crats.
    They cannot talk about failed plans, policies, and promises, so they do the only thing they have left. They make a Race issue of it.
    The reality is, in my opinion, that in 2008 the people of this great Country put hatred, and racism behind them and showed how far from that garbage we have come, and elected a black man as President of our great nation. Does that seem like a racist act to you?. It certainly doesn’t to me.

    Here it is in a nutshell. America proved without a doubt that the racism issues had been left far behind, and in so doing, elected a racist to run our Country.
    Very well witnessed, as any comment made about Nobamas running of the Country, or bad policies, makes us racists.       I am from Illinois. Born in Chicago. The people of this country did anything but take the race out of politics when Obama got elected. That was why most people voted for him. To show they weren’t racist. These same people forgot to treat him like he wasn’t half black and look at him like he was just another man. Because one look at his record would have shown you that he had done nothing for his constituency while in the Illinois legislature. I never even heard of him before the US Senatorial election. What did he do for Illinois in the US Senate? Nothing. He was in office only 6 months when he decided to run for president. Lmao. Based on what I’m not sure. But the only reason he kept winning is because of his race. Because this man is by and far the most inept, incompetent, laziest human being I have ever seen gain public office. And when he became president, they wanted to assign his US Senate seat to a black person because they deserved it. Those things are based solely on race. It’s just that people are missing what this was supposed to be all about. Martin Luther King, Jr. wanted to see a country based on the character and talents of a man, not on the color of his skin. People still base it on the color of ones skin and not on the quality of their character or the talents that they have. It’s just now they all want to show that they arent racist and they have no idea how to balance that need with actually judging people on their true character or talents. Cause let’s face it, there aren’t a lotof famous people out there on tv or in the movies who have character, talent and intelligence. And there is even less of that shown in the political spectrum. I didn’t like George Bush, but i like Obama a whole lot less.

    Well, guys and gals, I am from Delaware and will tell you y’all is a familiar and frequently used phrase in Southern Delaware, so forget the fact it is a Deep South term.
    Remember the fact that Biden is an absolute idiot. His connections with the Dupont family got him elected and has kept him in office. How this ignoramus got to be VP is pretty obvious. Obama does not have to be afraid of an assassination attempt because even the most uninformed among us does not want to see Joe Biden elevated to the highest office in the land.

    The part that most people miss is that it’s not the conservatives that are racist. The conservatives and the Republican party believe in the ability of black men and women to make something of themselves. The Democrats do not believe in the black men and womens abilities. That is why they give them food stamps, dependent care, etc. They believe in their own superiority over these ‘people of lesser quality’. They are like the condescending relative who has money. But instead of teaching you what it takes to be successful, they’ll give you a handout, but not a hand up. Because in their eyes you aren’t worth the effort to teach you a thing . Like the book says, give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime. They’d rather the black men and women eat for a day. They stay dependent on the Democrats that way and the Democrats stay in office.

    Speaking of racial tension, I have read that a possible tactic of Camp Obama might be a phony assassination attempt to garner sympathy votes and further divide the nation..possibly even causing the election to be postponed. Anyone else hear this? He wants there to be riots, and he will fuel them, I feel. And, we all know that he will do ANYTHING to remain in power. He proves that daily.

    The core issue of current affairs remains the LOSS of our STATES RIGHTS (1865). Reference Declaration of Independence which gives us a clear DUTY (and not suggestion) to ABOLISH the govt when it becomes tyrannical. Thus, the only solution left us SECESSION SECESSION SECESSION SECESSION and NOW NOW NOW. In 1866-77 we went through the period of REDESTRUCTION. The South were divided in 5 MILITARY DISTRICTS and lived under martial law (which is coming to a state near you).
    Obama was reelected on the 1st of May 2011. The LORD has always used pagans to achieve his goals. So take the plank out of your own eye; we the people are the problem because we refuse to embrace SECESSION.

Kicking them does not mean that Mitt & Ryan are in the election… . Bizarre per withdraw if they don’t. Humm? Something is amiss here per your intentions.

      Mitt & Ryan have plenty on their plate as it is. For months I have written to support Ryan, here and elsewhere with those who might have someone’s ear. Why? Ryan, besides being quick on his feet smart…, has a keen understanding of the train wreck of the Federal budget… . Someone like this as VP means that Romney is serious about the budget. If the economy finally turns belly up, if the Fed. finally runs out of phoney money, then, game over. If Romney does well, in 8 years, Ryan is a shoo in. We need this stability.

      4 more years of Obama, might do the trick in taking out The Republic. The remains of The Republic have proven more difficult, more resilient than Obama thought or any other agencies out there that want The Republic, gone.

      As it is, I don’t think you understand the relationship between fascism and socialism, which are two sides of the same coin. The best way to get to socialism is through fascism. Unfortunately, most people associate fascism with Naziism. While Nazis are fascists, fascists aren’t necessarily Nazis.

      Here’s a good definition of fascism. “Fascism is an economic model in which the state dictates the utilization of privately held assets to achieve public policy goals.” Is this not what’s happening under our Federal government, especially under Obama? By the way, it has been going on since FDR, maybe since Wilson.

      Under fascism, the government forces companies to do its bidding through unfunded mandates, regulations, rules, political and legal blackmail, and laws. Of course big business tries to start an incestuous relationship to control the government and is lured into a trap. But usually the government goes from controlling the means of production thru coercion to slowly buying up or confiscating the means of production. Again, is that not what’s happening in the USA? Isn’t it what Pelosi, Waters, Hinchey, and Obama have advocated?

      So I suggest you hit the history books to learn about the relationship between fascism and socialism and the English books to learn how to write more cogently.

      By the way, by hook or crook I believe Obama will be reelected and those who believe in a democratic Republic under the rule of constitutional law with a free market capitalist economic system will have to dust off the Declaration of Independence and take it to heart with a vengeance keeping in mind why Jefferson and Madison said the Second Amendment was written to save it. It’s either that or we admit the Great American Experiment has failed. I hope and pray I’m wrong.
