The Stunning Contrast between Tea Party and 'Occupy' Protestors

By Bobby Eberle

The media love to portray members of the Tea Party movement as out-of-touch hicks who are racist and only care about themselves. News outlets tried so hard to find something bad to report at Tea Party rallies, but try as they might, they couldn't. Contrast this with the filth, crime, and vulgarities that often accompany 'Occupy' protests, and one wonders where all the news coverage is.

Check out this post from The Blaze in which they report on the hundreds of Occupy Oakland protestors who were arrested when they clashed with police officers.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qu_XFv9zDws

Police Sgt. Christopher Bolton said the arrests came after protesters marched through downtown Oakland a little before 8 p.m. Saturday, with some of them entering a YMCA building.

At different moments on the livestream video, protestors could be heard yelling "Kill the police" and "F**k the police."

The Christian Science Monitor reports that 300 protestors were arrested following incidents in which "Occupy Oakland demonstrators broke into the historic building and burned a U.S. flag."

Saturday's protests - the most turbulent since Oakland police forcefully dismantled an Occupy encampment in November - came just days after the group said it planned to use a vacant building as a social center and political hub and threatened to try to shut down the port, occupy the airport and take over City Hall.

An exasperated Mayor Jean Quan, who faced heavy criticism for the police action last fall, called on the Occupy movement to "stop using Oakland as its playground."

It's amazing how these protestors are portrayed and how the media tries to spin them as some kind of freedom fighters. Just look at the story at CNN.com. First, the opening paragraph has this line: "the culmination of protests Saturday that saw police and protesters trade allegations over who was responsible for clashes." By writing it in this way, the attempt is made to put the "Occupy" protestors on equal footing with law enforcement. There's a clash. There are allegations. Maybe the police are right; maybe the protestors are right. That's how they spin it.

Then, the very next paragraph reads: "Undeterred, the protesters -- who remained on the street early Sunday morning -- said they will forge ahead with a planned "Rise Up Festival" at an area park later in the day."

Undeterred? As if the police were somehow the ones in the way of progress??? Come on! And, of course, the protestors will "forge ahead" with even more protests. The bias is just so blatant.

At least the local video report on the CNN site appears more balanced:

The "Occupy" protestors need to go home and grow up. "People not profit" might be a good slogan, but without business making money, there are NO jobs! These people should take a good look at the Tea Party movement and see what can happen through the power of a strong message and peaceful demonstrations.

Let’s see, the Tea Party are a bunch of hicks and racists, and the ows or where ever they are protesting are the good folks, right?  Well the tea party people when they have rallies the polie are not called in to break up any disturbances when they march,  the city doesn’t have to send trash collectors out to pick up any garbage left behind , because there is any.  And also tea patry members do not defficate on police cars camp out onother peoples property and burn thr American Flag.  The liberal media should not be watched at all, for they dumb down the folks who watch them.

The Occupy Wallstreet crowd reminds of the 70′s hippies that did their best to NOT fit in with society, never wanting to grow up. The Tea Baggers are the generation of the 70′s, just grown up with jobs and families full of responsibilities. I personally do not know anybody related to the Occupy crowd but I do know some Democrats. I guess there isn’t much difference between them these days!…….TR

I have noticed that almost all of these OWS protestors, no matter what city they are in are inclined to cover their faces with masks, kerchiefs or whatever…..are they perhaps ashamed or embarrassed  of what they are doing???????????  I have always felt people who are proud of their thoughts and actions would have little reason to hide their faces.

I don’t remember any Tea Party folks covering their faces in fear or shame……hhmmmm

Today’s “journalists” believe that their role is to influence rather than to inform.  This belief forms the basis of bias in reporting. They become propagandists rather than reporters.  Most of the members of the so called main stream media have an agenda driven by their ideology.  When considering these things it should come as no surprise that their coverage of the “occupiers” would be very different than that afforded Tea Party gatherings.  One fits their model of a desired society and the other does not.  One of the most powerful tools of the propagandist is the corruption of vocabulary.  By taking words that everyone recognizes and twisting their meaning they are able to manipulate how people think.  The meaning of “fairness” is an example of this corruption.  In this post rational world “fair” now means what the government says it means.  This Orwellian concept destroys the individuals ability to think critically and replaces it with a collective thought model that suits the objectives of the state.

You hit the nail on the head with this one……….there are no true journalists left in the MSM.  Wherever there is news, you can count on exactly (sometimes word for word) regurgitation of content fed them by one of the news services, AP, UPI and Reuters come to mind. It is increasingly obvious that the Internet and some of the foreign newspapers are the best source of real news.

OWS protesters must not hold a job or pay bills or taxes if they are sleeping in tents for months on end. After the recent arrests and property damage in Oakland…i dare MSNBC to report any of that on their Opinion hrs at night. They will turn it around on the Police. Millions in damage from these tent cities and they defend them, yet condemn Tea Party protests as racists and so on. This isnt news reporting, it is propraganda and they should not hold a title as Media reporters. they are giving their own personal opinion and expect you to live and act as they say.

I remember the 500,000 Tea Party folks at the Washington Mall in 2010.  At the end, when all were gone, there wasn’t even any trash to pick up.  No one could even tell they had been there.  You can tell by my moniker where I stand and what action should be taken.  This country has a big enough problem residing in the White House and the halls of Congress right now.  Both parties.  We should just gather ‘em up and move ‘em out.  Somalia might be the correct place.

As a TP Patriot I am so proud of our movement.   I believe the biggest difference is the age factor. Most of us our in our 50+ and see the world thru wiser eyes.   Most of the Occupiers are young and obvisiously insecure and need to feel they belong.   It also has to do with the brainwashing they get from the schools, movies, music and raging hormones.  But the TP is a group of people who care about our country and is really grassroots vs the kids that are being used by another agenda.

Sour Grapes!  The Occupy movement has highlighted the Crimes of Wall Street bigger and better than any other movement so far. You’re welcome! I spent 63 days at Occupy LA and utilized the forum to educate many about the nature of Wall Street and their criminal partners in government threw dozens of mainstream interviews and daily large public gatherings.  We were grassroots, creative and bold…and the world is still talking about “wall street crimes”.

We daily met at the general assemblies to democratically decide our actions and declarations, and we included anyone who was concerned, interested or in need.  We were social services for a lot of people on skid row or the freshly homeless citizens as well as their spokesperson and advocate.

Now we were infiltrated and sabatoged in a myriad of ways…poisoned food was delivered, thugs and drug addicts were sent to troublemake, the media ignored, then riddiclued, then attacked and slandered us to an extreme…as I can see your well aware of their techniques by your “insights” into Occupy.

We had the invite of the LA city council and the word of the LAPD that we were ok there until  at least the end of Feburary, so the illegal eviction from the Mayor was the real crime, and the “30 tons of trash” was actually the valued posessions of invited guests that were thrown away.

But we bounced back quickly and Occupied the Rose Parade and in the course of arranging our action convinced the City Of Pasadena to draft a resolution to fine banks $1000 a day for each house left abandoned after forclosure, hopefully setting a powerful precident for other cities to follow and slow the Roll of banksters making America into a homeless nation while our homes rot unattended.  Plus, the City Of LA is now standing strong against Corporate Personhood via our interactions with them during our stay.  And were just getting started…

I spent a great deal of my time reminding young and older Occupiers that the Tea Party represented enough of our same agendas and goals as to recognize them as pioneers and allies in the war with the Elite banking interests…often on skeptical ears due to cultural divides (often created by corporate interests)…so now I implore to you the same: look beyond surface differences and recognize that we’re all on the same side of the new divide, allies are allies and we’re the same basic movement coming from different ends of this great diverse nation.

You gain nothing belittling the Occupy Movement that spans from coast to coast represented in over 3000 cities and campuses and that is valuable enough a movement to demand underhanded responses from Wall Street itself…yes they got caught hiring million dollar PR firms to professionally slander us on social media sites and they have paid millions to police departments directly to “handle” us…and now the backbiting from our senior allies…it’s enough to discourage a weaker patriot…luckly I am not that patriot.  I will prevail and the crimes of Wall Street, Downing Street, DC and all related Elite tools will be exposed and used to drag them to the ground and away from any source of power.

Then why aren’t you parked in front of the capitol in Washington D.C.?  Why are you all over the country at places that have no bearing on what you say you’re trying to do?  Where were you when Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and Barack Obama were scooping money out of Fannie & Freddie by the handsful and claiming they were in good shape when they were about ready to crash with all the toxic mortgages they were taking?  Why were your members ruining an awards ceremony for Special Olympics and scaring the kids half to death?

I’d like to point out that very few Tea Partiers have someone to send them around the country or feed them.  They do it all on their own dime  and on their own time.  And perhaps you haven’t noticed that, right from the beginning the Tea Partiers have been trashed by the Democrats, the president and the news media.  Only since your groups started running hogwild have you gotten a little bit of bad press and told to get the hell out of Dodge by city governments.  Everything you do is illegal, from taking over public and private places to burning the flag of this Republic, which stands for the people of this Republic.

Where were your permits?  You obviously have a lot more money than the Tea Parties ever thought of having but all your events were done illegally! Have you ever seen neo-NAZIs, the Communist Party of the United States, the Socialist Party of the United States, the Workers World Party or International A.N.S.W.E.R and other assorted leftwing groups at a Tea Party gathering?  They were at Occupiers’ parades.  Don’t tell me your groups are like Tea Party groups!

Absolutely correct. Fine the banks for having foreclosed properties unsold and unused. For the banks are abrogating their responsibility as a trustee for PUBLIC property.

The underlying cause is that PRIVATE property is a failed experiment.  A failed experiment that has manifested itself in flawed institutions like Wall Street, Downing Street, banks, insurance companies, and all those many other financial institutions. We MUST eliminate private property rights, all property MUST be PUBLIC property, managed by czars for the PUBLIC good.

I wonder if Karl Marx, or Engels, would have said it better.

Just for the record, the Tea Party also contains lots of highly intelligent young people who are very concerned about the direction our country is taking under the current White House usurper – especially since ultimately they are the ones who will pay for it in the years to come. My oldest daughter organized the first Tea Party chapter at her high school and is a proud member. Maybe it is just because the young people in the Tea Party, like the rest of the members, are respectful, responsible, and believe in our system of government; thus they focus on changing it through votes and through the system rather than public temper tantrums which is all the OWS boils down to. Also, they have jobs and/or are going to school, which precludes their ability to spend weeks and months “camping out” – can we say responsible adults? I personally liken OWS to a political Woodstock.

Radical leftist community action!  What a surprise when our left wing community-activist-in-chief is rabble rousing for re-election.  All lies need at least a grain of truth  to be effective, but the overall character and the Occupy activities tell us much about the character and goals of Obama and his plans for our country.  Envy and hatred are as old as dirt, but class warfare as a political tool were all but invented by the Communists and their French Revolution forefathers.  Just see how those movements turned out and you have a good idea of where Obama and company would like to take us.  Time to pray, America.

To bart1 – That’s funny that you or anyone else (i.s Sarah Palin) think you know about the tea party people.  I am a single woman in her LATE 50′s and support Tea Party Principals.  I am also quite Independant because Sarah Palin, Herman Cain and others assoicated with the tea party support Newt and I support Mitt.

I am a Tea Party card carrier, and financial supporter. Of course, nothing like a Soros.

I do not deign to speak in any ‘official’ capacity for the Tea Party. But I do believe that the TP is vehemently opposed to the likes of Obummer, Reid, Pelosi, Schumer, the majority of the Congressional Black Caucus. I could easily expand that list.

On a positive note, I believe that most TP’s would readily support Bachmann, Cain, Jindal, West, Scott, Parker, Rubio and Malkin. And, with mixed feelings, would support Romney, Gingrich, and possibly even Paul.

The difference between the two groups is far from racism, it is a perception of those who believe in America and the US Constitution. The TP lives in the hope that this country can be recovered using legal means, and will not have to resort to a policy of militia.

Mainstream newsmedia in the US are largely communist sympathisers.  The protesters are all communists. We now have the problem of communists in power at all levels of our government- not all of them, but enough to cause chaos.  Sooner that we understand this and do something about it the better off we will all be.

The Tea Party say they back the US constitution ? I see them talking out of both sides of there mouth. There’s only one candidate who stands for our constitution and our liberties and always have and they are NOT behind him?? WHY???
So I see them as a joke! Just like the OWS! One burns the flag and one waves it.
If they can’t back someone who wants to do what they want (small GOV and restore our librties) they are just blowing smoke.
As I see it the only different’s between obumer and Rommey is the color.
Gingrich has to much baggage and not in a good way.
And both (Rommey, Gingrich) will sign the UN Small Arms Treaty. You can you say Good by Second Amendment.   AMERICA NEEDS A DOCTOR.
     Need I say more!

Nope…not a communist, socialist or a pagen, most of us aren’t.  We are defenders of capitalism, the US system will not withstand unchecked criminal behavior.  We are trying to solve the problems within the system we have…get it?

What do we want?… End Corporate Personhood, Reinstate Glas-Steigle, Create and fund a Real Security and Exchange Commision (because what we have has been a pathetic joke),  Indite White Collar Crime…5% of the DEA budget and manpower sent to Wall Street…it would be OVER! (besides all the shady “business” their all cocaine junkies)

Basic demands…they evicted Occupy LA before we could offically release our Demands…but Occupy DC stated thier 8 specific demands quickly and in many ways speak for us all.  Many of the later issues arose in the face of police violance and dirty dealings from citys…has it become a huge list of demands and issues…YES, it’s a complex criminal cabal who has run amuck for decades.

We except the magnatude of the problem that needs fixing…we will do our best to address each aspect of the same core crimes comminted within Goldman Sachs, The Fed, The FDA and the White House.  We are too big to fail, not them!

Get off your ***** and join us, Occupy Something, Occupy Somewhere, don’t like what you’ve seen so far, do something bigger, do something better, but please quite attacking us…we have enough **** flying at us from Fox, Homeland Security and the Wall Street CounterAttack.

About 80 years ago, a charismatic leader, in a neo-democratic country that was experiencing economic woes, assembled a cadre of sycophants, the disgruntled, and opportunists, and an assortment of useful idiots. His tactics included fomenting civil disturbances, sloganeering, identifying scapegoats, and impeding all efforts of the established government. Once reaching a critical mass of power, he applied the culmination   the burning of the Reichstag   … to complete his takeover of the government.

Soon to follow was the Final Solution.

I am a Tea Party activist for Ron Paul. until a few weeks ago I supported Newt and had for years. However Newts (and Mitts) support of those provisions which violate the Bill of Rights have caused me to turn away.

It seems the Tea Party is being taken over by the Neocons and I am sadenned by that. The Tea Party stood for sound fiscal policy and Civil Rights as defined by the Constitution. The left accused us of being selfish and said it was all about the money. Well a vote for Mitt or Newt proves their point.

Ron Paul stands for limited gov, sound fiscal policy as well as civil liberties. That is America. You may not like what people choose to do but some level of tolerance is necessary in a free society. Please dont listen to Rush or Sean or the MSM. Investigate Ron Paul yourself.

There is no ‘perfect’ candidate on the scene.

With all due respect to Ron Paul, I have full agreement with almost all of his domestic policy ideas. Close enough that I would have no qualms about his presidency. The only real question is whether he has demonstrated the leadership quality to mak his agenda occur.

I look back at some of our presidents. HST was a nobody when he assumed the office. It would have been far-fetched to expect him to be an effective ‘leader’, but he rapidly became one. And, in the main, I respect his policies.

LBJ was an effective leader, he demonstrated that before he became president. However I consider that which he implemented has been disastrous for this country.

FDR was such an effective, charismatic, ‘leader’ that he became the first American dictator, giving birth to the Age of Entitlement on  steroids. It has taken years to remove some of the media gloss that was applied to him.

As for the present incumbent, Mickey, or even Minnie, Mouse would be a far superior candidate to lead our country. Any of the present candidates, despite their flaws, would be breath of fresh air.
