It appears that this country is clearly going downhill fast. More and more people want the government to take care of them while they sit around and do nothing. More and more people won’t take the time to see the media’s negative influence in matters of race (such as the Zimmerman trial). And more and more people are becoming numb to the liberal agenda that human life, if in the form of an infant or unborn child, is not precious at all.
There has been much debate over the abortion issue over the years. Every time I write about it or my web site posts a column about it, we get tons of response. Some will write in saying the abortion issue is a “loser” for Republicans. They write that we should all just stay out of the lives of women. This type of comment continues to amaze me, because these people act as if there is only one person involved: the woman. What about the unborn child?
To be clear, a sperm cell is alive. An egg is alive. When they come together, the human being is alive. Those are simply the facts, and no one can argue otherwise. So, the abortion debate really becomes this: At what point in the development of a human being is it still ok to kill the child and not feel that it is morally wrong?
Apparently, to some on the left, there is NO point at which it is morally wrong. As pointed out in an article last year in the Journal of Medical Ethics, the authors argue that it should be legal to murder the child AFTER birth, because the child does not “possess a moral right to life.” The authors claim the newborn child is not actually a “person” yet.
“Abortion is largely accepted even for reasons that do not have anything to do with the fetus’ health,” write the authors in their abstract. “[T]he authors argue that what we call ‘after-birth abortion’ (killing a newborn) should be permissible in all the cases where abortion is, including cases where the newborn is not disabled.”
The latest left-wing wacko to adopt this philosophy is MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry. During the debate over Texas’ new abortion law, Harris-Perry went on air with tampons as earrings as if this were somehow a show of solidarity to those who feel that it’s still ok to kill an unborn child even after 20 weeks of development in the womb. Now, as reported by NaturalNews.com, Harris-Perry is taking her pro-abortion stance even further.
Getting back to Harris-Perry, according to her radical brand of death culture ideology, a parent can “decide” that a baby born alive isn’t really alive yet. That parent can wait to see whether the baby is well-behaved, or cute, or has the right skin color, or whatever, before deciding whether to keep it or kill it. If such an ideology were fronted by someone like George Bush, it would be wildly derided as barbaric and anti-human, but because the idea of murdering newborn babies is being pushed by liberals, it is met with silence instead of outrage.
Harris-Perry went crazy during the George Zimmerman trial, proclaiming his guilt even as the jury said otherwise. Apparently it’s wrong in her eyes to defend yourself against a vicious attack, but it’s quite acceptable to kill a defenseless child even after the child has been born. It’s just sick.
And the real problem here is NOT with people like Harris-Perry. It’s with all the people in this country who simply don’t pay attention to what’s going on and fall for the left wing agenda promoted by the likes of Barack Obama and the media.
Just look at the video below. In it, the host goes to a college campus for one hour to see how many students would actually sign his petition in support of “4th trimester” abortions. That’s right… 4th trimester.
If I heard correctly, only one person realized that “4th trimester” means after the baby is born. And this is our future?
When people will actually get up in arms because Texas wants to protect unborn children who are already halfway through the pregnancy, then something is wrong with this country. As it turns out, with people like Harris-Perry, there is A LOT wrong with this country.
