Olympic Arms refuses to sell to NY cops

By Washington Times

A Washington-state-based firearms manufacturer has announced that it no longer will be doing business with New York law enforcement, in response to the state's sweeping new gun laws on private citizens.

Olympic Arms, a manufacturer of AR-15s and other semi-automatic rifles, made the announcement Tuesday as New York will begin imposing an assault weapons ban on its residents.

"Legislation recently passed in the State of New York outlaws the AR15 and many other firearms, and will make it illegal for the good and free citizens of New York to own a large selection of legal and safe firearms and magazines," the company wrote on its official Facebook page. "We feel as though the passage of this legislation exceeds the authority granted to the government of New York by its citizens, and violates the Constitution of the United States."

New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo's assault-weapons ban allows law enforcement agencies to purchase assault-style weapons, but Olympic says it no longer will serve the state's first responders, Fox News writes.

"It didn't make sense that citizens can't have what police departments have," Brian Schuetz, Olympic's president and co-owner, told the Times Union newspaper.

Hopefully, the first responders will start putting pressure on Cuomo to repeal his “stupid” anti-gun law. As it is, they can only have 7 rounds in their gun’s magazine and that won’t be enough to stop the criminals. It is so stupid, stupid,

If the media and this administration can modify or alter the 2nd Amendment, it then becomes possible to do the same with every provision and Amendment in the Constitution and Bill of Rights. One of Obama’s students in his Constitution course, wrote he spent the entire class on the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments, which would make sense for someone unhappy with America and its history, but it is just that — history, not reality.

The liberal politicians who have taken control of many levels of government across the country are methodically undermining the fabric of America in favor of political correctness and socialist policies and will finish the job if allowed to continue as Cuomo, Brown, and others, with encouragement from Obama, are doing.

It is totally mind boggling to me to watch this happening across the country. This obsession with gun control, immigration, abortion, what you eat and drink, global warming and social justice has taken control of the priorities of government while what should be our highest priorities are being ignored. It is like the Captain of the Titanic up rearranging deck chairs while the ship is sinking.

I have never seen such an irresponsible group of government leaders in control of both state and national policy and priorities as I now see starting with our President and Congress. Since when does global warming and gun control deserve more attention then the economy and the massive financial problems we are facing? Since when does ever expanding and unaffordable government subsidies get priority over the ability of the government to pay for them?

At least we have one company willing to give up potential sales to make a point of the hypocrisy in government gun control policies that are politically motivated and will do nothing to curb gun violence in our country.

“It didn’t make sense that citizens can’t have what police departments have,” Brian Schuetz, Olympic’s president and co-owner, told the Times Union newspaper.

If more of the arms manufacturers follow Olympic’s lead and stop selling to New York law enforcement or start moving their facilities out of New York, some of the liberal gun grabbers might wake up.

Barret firearms did the same thing when california banned their guns in that area, I wish more manufacturers would follow, if citizens can’t own it then in that state we won’t sell to that states police force, The real test will come when the federal goverment strips these rights from it’s citizens, Again the Federal Goverment holds the money these firms will need, we the citizens must be active in contacting our representatives, often and loudly, evening when you know they don’t represent your views.

God Bless Olympic Arms and the Constitution of the United States of America!

Next please apply the same moral fortitude to California and only sell CA Police and CA state government agencies the same arms and ammo that good US citizens are allowed to buy.

Then lets all of us good citizens agree to buy from Olympic and write to ask other United States firearms and ammunition manufacturers to take the same stand!

Our founding fathers esp Mr. Washington and Mr. Jefferson would be proud of your strength of character as a company and in support of United States Citizens.

When we reach the point where only Government and Criminals have guns, we’ll clearly see there is NO difference between the two groups.
