Graham urges holding up Obama nominations

By United Press International

A senior Republican senator said President Obama's Cabinet nominations should be shelved pending more detailed information about the Libyan consulate attack.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said on CBS's "Face the Nation" he did not believe the confirmations of Chuck Hagel as defense secretary and John Brennan as head of the CIA should proceed until the Obama administration comes clean as to what took place in the White House while the compound in Benghazi was under attack.

"What did he (Obama) do that night?" said Graham, "That's not unfair. The families need to know. The American people need to know."

Graham told CBS one of his priority questions was how aggressive Obama was in sending U.S. personnel to relieve the consulate. He said a squad of State Department agents tried to get to Benghazi from Tripoli but was held up for hours at the airport by Libyan officials. Obama, he said, failed to personally intercede with the new Libyan government to allow the agents to take off.

"This is a complete system failure, and I'm going to get to the bottom of it," Graham vowed.

Sen. Jack Reed, D-R.I., countered the White House had its hands full with anti-American demonstrations in Egypt, and that U.S. military leaders were too far away to mount a timely rescue mission. "The idea that the president was not engaged is, I think, completely wrong," he said. "He directed the secretary of defense ... to begin moving assets into the region to provide any response."

Reed called the idea of blocking the Hagel and Brenner nominations "unprecedented and unwarranted," but Graham said the Democrats had used similar tactics when President George W. Bush nominated the outspoken John Bolton to be ambassador to the United Nations.

"I'm going to ask my colleagues, just like they did with John Bolton," Graham said. "(Sen.) Joe Biden said no confirmation without information. No confirmation without information."

    Good for Graham!

The silence on this from the lame stream media is deafening

Can understand why, it showed Hillary was right about Obama taking the 3 am call. He was not up to the job.

Obama will not come clean but it will cause questions

The first question, why cannot those crazy Republicans just give it up

And the answer can only show Obama is a liar and incompetent

Video? You mean there is not a shred of evidence to support it?

Nine hours? You mean those people were under attack for that long and Obama did nothing? What kind of a man is he, let alone a president

Don’t give this guy a pass anymore…get him out. He is dangerous.

Kudos to Senator Graham! By all means the votes should be held up and even scuttled if the liars will not come clean. Enough of this imperialistic a** in the WH acting like he is God!

Thank you, Senator Graham! It is so good to learn that some Congressmen have common sense and abide by The Constitution of The United States! It doesn’t matter that Egypt was in an Uprising about hating Americans – it’s no wonder! Look who helped Muslim Brotherhood Morsi become President! More American tax dollars were donated to rich dictator Morsi along with gifted F-16′s and tanks. Is it any wonder Islamist population hates America? We give to the rich dictators and nothing goes to the people who could benefit from those gifts (our American tax dollars!) Yet, America’s government keeps donating to rich Iranian dictators – for what…keeping the people under the thumb and equipment for more wars. Obama’s selection/nomination of known Muslim Brenner and questionable Hagel should be put on hold, forever. It appears that they do not represent the U.S.A. in a favorable fashion. Their backgrounds are very dubious and not at all concomitant with American Values. There are a few more presidential nominations that should be scrutinized. Perhaps that will happen as well in the days ahead.

The gutless wonder Graham is finally standing up? This is after he kowtows to the Dems on their appointments like the Supreme Court. Will he back down again under pressure from the RINO group he belongs to? Ah the ‘wait and see’ game!

NO, I do not trust him!

Please stick by your moral code Sen. Graham and do not let, especially the Brennan appointment go through without extreme scrutiny. He is not all he seems to be up front and I am not posting any specifics on the internet, but you know what they are even though no one is talking about them. Thank you.

Experience is showing that virtually ALL of Obama’s choices for his cabinet, as well as his “Czars”, has been exceptionally bad for the country. Attorney General Holder, DHS head Napolitano, most of his Muslim advisors, and even Hillary Clinton’s top advisor Huma Abedin, have been very bad choices.

USDA head Tom Vilsack might be doing okay, except he is constantly publicizing his own name as well as pimping for the Obama Administration in most news releases that comes from USDA.
