WASHINGTON (AP) - A U.S. Army brigade will begin sending small teams into as many as 35 African nations early next year, part of an intensifying Pentagon effort to train countries to battle extremists.
The teams will be limited to training and equipping efforts, and won't be permitted to conduct military operations without specific, additional approval from the secretary of defense.
The sharper focus on Africa by the U.S. comes against a backdrop of widespread insurgent violence across North Africa, and as the African Union and other nations discuss military intervention in northern Mali.
The terror threat from al-Qaida-linked groups in Africa has been growing steadily. Officials believe the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi may have been carried out by insurgents with ties to al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb.

Always someplace else but not here right at home. “Our” Government gets an F- for maintaining the National Border.
So great the incompetence, in the REAL WORLD, individuals responsible would have been fired, perhaps arrested… and jailed.
But NO, we have to now dig deeper into Africa. We have to be drawing red lines about Syria, helping Muslim Terrorists. We cannot even keep a little embassy, in a known dangerous region, secure, much less use our expensive military to rescue the people stuck there. Some in command, could at least even sit and watch the mayhem. Did they have yummy popcorn?
And finally, our American held in the stink hole prison in the same, Mexico, is released. Were US Marines sent in? NO. Did the so called President do anything? Who knows, but not likely. Mexican Businessmen, seeing this as a damper for business, got in, a TV Journalist and US Rep. got in. Such is the sorry sad state of “our” Government.

Obama is finally learning that the Muslim fundamentalist threat exists, it is growing, and it threatens us.
It’s too bad he has already thrown away so many chances to reduce it significantly.

Some of the U.S. Military Sevice people who were supposed to come home from Iraq were transferred to Africa some time ago and now more troops shipped to Africa to “train” what?! Meanwhile Syria gets a U.S. weapons boost and Egypt gets twenty more F16′s from U.S. plus how many billion dollars. Israel is getting fired upon from Gaza Mosques, schools, hospitals with Iran’s weaponry help. Egypt’s Morsi has decided that Israel is not worth having as an ally. Americans could paint a picture of all the mandates put on their own country to bring it to it’s knees and further destroy morals of We The People but it would take more pages than the ObamaCare rag to define each sordid detail. I thought Charity began at home but guess not. Foreign aide is much more important than putting Americans back to work and giving powers back to the States to regulate and achieve some kind of normalcy? There has been nothing but constant turmoil within the U.S. since 2008. The ‘change’ that was offered has been to commit the United States to Socialism>Communism and Americans want no part of it. Now, the Federal Government is messing with the 2nd Amendment and that’s not going to fly! in different parts of the United States, there have been mass murders committed due to lack of morals which have been coming since the 1960′s and even more disasterous these past three years by assigned agencies who divide the country, put Family Values on the brink of over the cliff, reduced U.S. Military power and cause complete mayhem in what few industries remain. So, should American Troops go into Africa? NO! Let’s get our s**t together here within the U.S. borders then we can talk about helping some other country!

I have a different take
when Obams was elected I wrote that he will seek revenge for the black soldiers who fought to liberate white Europe by getting us involved in Africa
its coming true
but also of GREAT NOTE
the same way the Dems got us into Vietnam ( stop with the IKE stuff, Vietnam is all on the Dems) with the Chinese behind the scenes
the chinese are heavily into Africa
if Obamamama the “strategist” thinks taking on the Chinese ESPECIALLY with their economy actually in better shape than ours is wise, it only adds to the misery this self hating racist is putting us through
