Netanyahu makes case on Iran directly to US citizens

By GOPUSA Staff

WASHINGTON (AP) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took his case on Iran directly to U.S. voters Sunday, telling the American public in televised interviews that the White House must be willing to draw a "red line" on Tehran's nuclear program, comparing Tehran's nuclear program to Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh and reminding Americans of the devastating repercussions of failed intelligence.

His remarks were an impassioned election-season plea from a world leader who insists he doesn't want to insert himself into U.S. politics and hasn't endorsed either candidate. But visibly frustrated by U.S. policy under President Barack Obama, the hawkish Israeli leader took advantage of the week's focus on unrest across the Muslim world and America's time-honored tradition of the Sunday television talk shows to appeal to Americans headed to the polls in less than two months.

Tehran claims its nuclear program is peaceful. Netanyahu said the U.S. would be foolish to believe that, using football metaphors and citing example of past terrorist attacks on U.S. soil to appeal to his American audience.

"It's like Timothy McVeigh walking into a shop in Oklahoma City and saying, `I'd like to tend my garden. I'd like to buy some fertilizer.' ... Come on. We know that they're working on a weapon," Netanyahu said.

The past week, Netanyahu has called on Obama and other world leaders to state clearly at what point Iran would face a military attack. But Obama and his top aides, who repeatedly say all options remain on the table, have pointed to shared U.S.-Israeli intelligence that suggests Iran hasn't decided yet whether to build a bomb despite pursing the technology and that there would be time for action beyond toughened sanctions already in place.

Netanyahu disagrees, estimating that Iran is about six months away from having most of the enriched uranium it needs and warning that letting them reach the "goal line" would have disastrous consequences.

Obama's Republican opponent, Mitt Romney, has said he is willing to take a tougher stance than Obama against Iran, although his campaign has declined to provide specifics. He has also aligned himself personally with Netanyahu, casting the Israeli leader as a longtime friend.

Meanwhile, Obama is reported to have a strained relationship with Netanyahu, chastising Israel for continuing to build housing settlements in areas disputed with the Palestinians.

America's ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Rice, responded Sunday by saying there is "no daylight" between the U.S. and Israel and saying Obama "will do what it takes" to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon. But, she said, "we are not at that stage yet."

"Our bottom line - if you want to call it a red line - the president's bottom line has been that Iran will not acquire a nuclear weapon, and we will take no option off the table to ensure that it does not acquire a nuclear weapon, including military," Rice later said.

But Netanyahu has said that's not enough and employed historical examples known to most Americans to make his case: President John F. Kennedy's demand that the Soviets remove its missiles sites in Cuba "maybe purchased decades of peace," Netanyahu said. And absent a similar "red line," then-Iraqi President Saddam Hussein faced a U.S. attack in 1991 after invading Kuwait.

"Maybe that war could have been avoided," Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu also pointed to America's inability to prevent the 9/11 hijackings as proof that intelligence can fail.

He insisted that his motivations were not political but reflected a key sense of urgency. Israeli officials point to Iranian enrichment of uranium, a key ingredient in building a bomb, the movement of Iranian nuclear research facilities to fortified underground bunkers impervious to attack and Iran's refusal to open its facilities to U.N. inspectors.

"I think that there's a common interest of all Americans, of all political persuasions, to stop Iran," he said. "This is a regime that is giving vent to the worst impulses that you see right now in the Middle East."

Rice said the window to act "is not infinite" but that the sanctions "reached their high point in July." Rice says that for the first time the Iranian economy is shrinking at a rate of negative 1 percent, Iranian oil production has dropped 40 percent over the last several months and their currency has plummeted 40 percent in that time as well.

"This pressure, even to use the Iranians own words, is crippling," Rice said, adding, "What is clear is that Iran does not have a nuclear weapon."

Netanyahu and Rice spoke on CNN's "State of the Union" and NBC's "Meet the Press." Rice also spoke on "Fox News Sunday" and appeared on CBS' "Face the Nation."

From the point of diplomacy the U.S. and Israel have no stance with Tehran and the slippery slope leading to Israel’s destruction is evident. We know that Bush sided with Israel and [if elected] Romney will side completely with Israel; but the Muslim Ozero has as much hatred for Israel as does the Arab nations. The hope of Israel is that Romney / Ryan are in place and elected in November. I realize that the Almighty always comes down on the side of Israel, yet He uses earth’s nations to do His work.

It is a simple matter of fulfilling the promise to the legitimate line of Abraham through Isaac who became Israel and our own Christian American rejected cornerstone who became the new foundation of prophetic fulfillment, with the illegitimate Islamic son Ishmael getting the leftover scraps,,,,,,. Like our own promise to ourselves to fulfill the promise of America with our own legitimate sons of Romney/Ryan with the illegitimate foreign minded son Obama getting only the scraps and the electoral scrap heap himself to inherit his own well earned poverty of ideas and lack of political Capital and the very destruction to himself he intended for us.

The Prime Minister, may have helped convince the most curious thinkers that support Obama, who are Israel compatriots, to stop supporting Obama. Might is the key word.

Watched the Sunday talking heads. Not a single one, mentioned that Israel is a Nuclear Armed Power. It is estimated that Israel has some 200 nuclear weapons. IF, delivery is a problem for them, sell them 4 or so Lancers B 1′s. They are not cutting edge tech anymore that can be parsed out, and tech sold. Lancers however, can surely reach out, and deliver mushrooms!

The “Red Line” that Netanyaho speaks of, is a poor choice of color. More American Blood spilled in the crazed rat outhouse Middle East? Women, whose sons and daughters will be first in line for casualties, are likely to favor the more nebulous Obama. Insane.

Romney should make clear, that we will not be shocked in the least, if Israel, makes a first strike to knock out the nuclear program of a stupid country who says that they are going to wipe out Israel… . If Israel wants our advanced Bunker Buster Bombs, sell them… . If Israel wishes to Nuke the facilities, then God’s Speed. Hundreds of nuclear weapons have been detonated on Earth for the sake of levity vs hysterics. It is not as if Israel is nuking cities, like we did.

Further, Romney should say straight up to Iran, if they want to say bug eyed crazy things, play in the Nuclear Sandbox, then they should come to realize that there are dire bloody consequences for them.

My relatives who have served in The Sand Box, not a one has said a kind, complimentary word about The Middle East. My comment that, “It is a very bad neighborhood, with some awful people for neighbors…” was well received with laughter. Fortunately, so far, none have been injured or killed.

That said, I watched in horror that there were thousands of Muslim rioters, in, well, Sidney, Australia! Not Baghdad, not in some Muslim country, but Sidney! Oh, and of course in what passes as Europe these sad days. This is insanity, this is suicide. What fiendish criminal minds made this happen? Death of the West, indeed.

It is the sad state of current US foreign policy, that the head of our only ally has to come to America and state the reality his country is facing now with a nuclear iran and a host of other hostile mid-east countries.
we have a pro-islamist extreamist as our president, a cadre of communist/socialist/anti-constituoinalist running every agency in the govt. Isreal will not get any backing from this administration and Prime Minister Netanyahu knows it. Right now his country is really alone.

Muslim Obama has no Foreign Policy and depends strictly on his “unqualified” CZAR Apointees to make his decisions. My vote goes to Prime Minister Netanyahu. You have waited long enough Sir, maybe too long. Now is the time for you take action and save your Country and its people. May God Bless and Care for you and your Country. Thank you for your time. First Romney is criticized by the Main Stream media propaganda arm of the Democrat party for not commenting on Afghanistan, which he did in deference to a sitting Commander-in-Chief,,,,,Obama’s attack response showed our Commander-in-Chief to be just another sitting Bull full of Bull. Where’s the beef in his Middle East strategy that edifies Muslim feelings over American Rights to free speech. Does Obama actually believe when he took his oath it was to protect and defend the faith of Islam or the Constitution of the American People?

Mr. Netanyahu should not listen to our President because he has a proven record of lying and he has also shown that he and his fellow workers are unable to handle running a country and making sound decisions. It is time that Israel listen to their gut feeling, trust in the Almighty and do what they know they should do which is to gather the evidence, stand their ground and not take any guff off of those who seek to take for themselves an inheritance which was promised only to God’s people, not the Wicked. Trouble will never end until Jesus makes them His footstool and a thousands of years-old enemy should not be trusted. And, if anyone ever tries to come as an Angel of Light, as a representative of David for he is the Moon and appointed as the Sun, they should not necessarily be trusted. God is with His chosen.

China and Russa are on the “intelligence” front lines as this story unfolds, their political reputation on the line in front of the whole world. Let us wish them success that all is OK.

However, if Iran explodes so much as one(1) little atomic explosion, China and Russa are disgraced forever and USA vaporizes the entire Iran land mass (actually more like another Annihilation like when the dinosaures were annihilated by that astroid). Or, the “Viking Age” spanned the 8th to 11th centures starting at Northumbria, this devistation will be a lot quicker (and much more efficient). After the dust settles, Isralies decend on the ex-Iran land mass just like it’s another Canaan to be occupied. With the Isralites move-en out, the Palestinian’s move-in and occupy all the houses that US taxpayers built. All this might even qualify to be called “the new world order”. Do I see another Marshall Plan opportunity? Have a nice day :-D

It’s certainly no secret where that sorry excuse living in the White House stands; he stated where he stands in his book and his actions toward Israel have been disgraceful as have been his policy of apologizing and appeasement toward Islam. What amazes me is that American Jews seem to be too ignorant to realize that all obama wants is their money and votes.

When the clock strikes twelve the bombs should drop. They should drop continuously until there is no Iranian nuclear sites, no Iranian missile sites, no Iranian air bases, no Iranian ground bases, tanks etc. Their main electrical grids should be knocked out and their oil refineries, and supply tanks, destroyed. All munition plants, and storage facilities, should be destroyed. The Iranian HQ’s should be leveled. Allcomunication systems shoud be destroyed leavcing them isolated from one another. Then notes should be dropped stating; we warned you not to pursue missile, and nuclear technology, but you kept threatening us, and now your land is a wasteland thanks to your stupid, arrogant, leaders who refused to be peaceful. If you are going to fault someone fault your leaders, they are the ones who betrayed you.
