Boehner: Health ruling shows need to repeal law

By AP Staff

WASHINGTON (AP) - House Speaker John Boehner says the Supreme Court ruling upholding the individual insurance requirement at the heart of President Barack Obama's health care overhaul shows the need to repeal the law.

The Ohio Republican says in a statement that the law is hurting the economy by increasing health care costs and making it difficult for small businesses to hire.

He says the court's ruling demands repeal of the entire law.

Boehner say Americans want a common-sense approach to health care. He says Republicans are ready to work with a president who's willing to listen to the people and "will not repeat the mistakes that gave our country `Obamacare.'

GOPUSA Editor's Note:  Boehner's complete statement follows:

“The president’s health care law is hurting our economy by driving up health costs and making it harder for small businesses to hire.  Today’s ruling underscores the urgency of repealing this harmful law in its entirety.  What Americans want is a common-sense, step-by-step approach to health care reform that will protect Americans’ access to the care they need, from the doctor they choose, at a lower cost.  Republicans stand ready to work with a president who will listen to the people and will not repeat the mistakes that gave our country ObamaCare.”

What America wants may be a common sense,step-by-step approach to health care reform but what they are going to get is a socialistic, expensive, restrictive, unfeeling (including to people’s moral and religious beliefs), and forced health care system.

I never thought I would see this country become the sort of country my father walked away from with the shirt on his back to find one with freedom…guess I was terribly wrong.

The court didn’t take into account the backhanded backdoor deal way this bill was passed in the first place. It was a neglectfull action on their part. They are well aware that the majority of the people do not want this so they threw it baxk into our hands to defeat in the ballot box where it belongs ! “We the people” vote the representatives that present and pass these laws. it is up to us to be more mindfull of who and what kind of people we are putting in office !

But remember that Chief Justice Roberts put the ball in our court when he said it was up to the people rather than the court to deal with their elected officials. I think Roberts just told us that “we asked for it, so live with it”. Now we can allow the lies, deception, and distortion from the Democrats to continue or we can remember this on November 6.

We have to start thinking more like a Nation again instead of going for whatever we can get from Washington. We need to vote for representatives that truely represent our interests not those that bribe us with “Gifts from uncle sam”
