JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Winning the White House is a package deal, so the Republican presidential candidates are eager to talk up their spouses as ideal first ladies.
Each of the four contenders was asked during Thursday night's debate why his wife would be strong in the role.
Ron Paul, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum highlight their decades-long marriages and describe their spouses as wonderful mothers.
Romney says wife Ann's past battles with multiple sclerosis and breast cancer would make her an ambassador on health causes.
Gingrich, the only candidate married more than once, says his third wife, Callista, is a patron of the arts who has film production and children's books to her credit.

Who cares. The first lady has gotten way too much influence in recent years anyway. Since we don’t get to vote for them we shouldn’t have to put up with them. I am sick of hearing Michelle tell my kids how to eat when she and her kids seem to eat just as much junk food as my family.

Since Michelle is so interested in forcing her socialist tainted political food down the throats of our children, my guess is that following the money back to just who is manufacturing all this food that the government buys and gets thrown into the trash by the kids in socialist waste, would reveal just one more Agri-business Solyndra type scandel of Tax payer money being wasted on one more failed social experiment gone awry where some Democrat pary operative is enriching himself and the Democrat party in agri-food kickbacks. Just follow the money as there is always a hidden agenda behind their false charity that enriches themselves in the skimming.
I’ll bet Pelosi and Michelle made millions in crony companies selling her health food to the unsuspecting public. Just follow the money.

The real question should have been, When you are elected, will America get the agenda proposed by the actual candidate, or another Clintonian two-for-one package that is dumped on our American doorstep where the unelected confused hidden agendas of the Candidate’s wives and mother in-laws, like Hillary and Michelle get foisted upon an unsuspecting American electorate who has to swallow them down harder than another Lewinsky.
Americans did not vote for Hillary nor did they vote for Michelle, so why did we the people have to pay the price of their socialist pandering?
When a Liberal offers to show you his marital package, do not be surprised or shocked at the hidden thing he whips out to reveal which is the double edge sword this circus sideshow act wants you to swallow. Can the fire eater and bearded lady be far behind the sword swallower.

A better question to me would have been who these candidates might consider as their running mate in the national elections. To me, the choice for President is critical and that is the first priority, but I also feel that the VP running mate can make a difference to the voters because that would give the voters a better picture of the team at the top and who would pick up the gauntlet if something were to happen to the President.
In the past, the VP choice was not announced until after the primary elections, but I would like to hear the candidates at least offer some potential choices prior to the primary elections just to get a feel of where their mind is about the VP. Probably never happen…but it would be interesting.
