NLRB to force private employers to post union info

WASHINGTON (AP) — The National Labor Relations Board has approved a new rule that requires private employers to notify workers about their right to form a union.

The rule requires businesses to prominently display posters that explain the right to bargain collectively, distribute union literature and engage in other union activities without reprisal.

Union advocates say the rule gives workers information they should know about their legal rights. But business groups say they fear the posters will make it appear the government is encouraging workers to join unions.

The board under the Obama administration has taken a number of steps favorable to unions, which are trying to reverse years of membership declines.

The new rule exempts some small businesses. It takes effect Nov. 14.

      I put nothing past the NLRB. They are attacking the Boeing Airplane company for wanting to build a plant in South Carolina because it is a right to work state.

      Just another example of an Obama agency going after small businesses.

      This is so hard to believe!  When I worked in human resources in several Silicon Valley companies, we absolutely forbade any postings on employee bulletin boards of union info or union contact info of any kind.  In fact, the reason all HR depts required employees to get approval for ANY posting was for this very reason – to be able to catch union info and prevent its posting.  That the gubment is requiring this is astounding!  The new GOP president in Jan 2013 is gonna have a heck of a lot of legislation reversals to attend to.

    Talk about getting desperate!  Posting these notices IS a way to try and convince people to join the Union – there’s just no other explanation for this “rule.”  Wonder what the “right to engage in other Union activities without reprisal” involves?

    it’s the PRO-UNION board..
    quit calling it anything else…
    than again…Obama like to refer to pedo’s & other perv’s…
    as youth challenged…
    after 10 yrs our Company has decided..
    cheaper to pay the fine..
    so yes..
    I lost my healthcare…
    it’s a great company..
    but these posters…
    I may as well start looking now..
    cause ..
    we will just close..

      ….but they won’t let the employer quote this part of the law…

      …some time back I represented companies who were being attacked to have employees join the union…I usualy spoke with employees and quoted the”Act” that stated they were allowed to join…but I also stated it in the same breath they could choose NOT to join, without reprisal regardless of their decision…

      The union usually tried to find me at fault and the NLRB never ruled against me…but that was before unions were OBAMA’s BROWN SHIRTS and composed of thugs who intimidate emplpoyees…

      OBAMA is ruled by the unions and he is equally frightened of these thugs because they pay for his upkeep, and force him to do as they say…

      Some President…afraid of his own shadow…and completely unable to protect American citizens from his own BROWN SHIRTS…

      ITS TIME, AMERICA. ITS TIME!

      The Germans paid no attention to Der Fuehrer as he rose to power, and as he  unleashed his BROWN SHIRTS on them…thugs, misfits, deranged, thieves, crooks, filthy specimens…all have OBAMA under their control…and will soon be goose stepping for Der Fuehrer from Chicago…a dunce!

      Workers…you MUST FILE COMPLAINTS WITH YOUR CONGRESS persons…YOU MUST…or before you know it you will be visited by them at your home, or your children will be targeted by children of the BROWN SHIRTS at school and roughed up…girls and boys…

    The Unions have been complaining that Obama has not done enough for the unions. This action is nothing than pandering and payback. Our government is being run by thugs and criminals.

    And do the posters also say they do NOT have to have a union and do NOT pay dues if they do not join?  Probably not.  Can hardly wait for 2012 to get rid of prez and czars and Soros (who should be deported and passport canceled for the USA!
    Union are hurting so they are looking for ways to make money for themselves and their insurance coverage after Wisconsin made a big hole in their budget, but Wisconsin is now in the black without the big part of union collective bargaining (like unions today are non-partisan, right?). 
    Which is why after being in 3 public unions, I say stop them all, and if someone wants to join a union, give them ALL the facts and let them see where their dues are being used or spent and not just for the high life of the union leaders!

    I say put a poster up next to it with all the thing the business can do for you WITHOUT the union and another list of what you will not receive as a union member. Black and white pros and cons. keeps it simple.
