Environmental groups challenge Shell's offshore drilling plan

By AP Staff

ATLANTA (AP) - Environmental groups are asking a federal appeals court to throw out a U.S. government decision to approve a Shell oil exploration plan that involves five proposed wells under more than 7,000 feet of water in the Gulf of Mexico.

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management Regulation and Enforcement approved the plan in May. The plan also includes three previously approved wells 72 miles off Louisiana.

Defenders of Wildlife, the Center for Biological Diversity and the Natural Resources Defense Council claim in a petition filed Thursday in the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals in Atlanta that the decision violates the law and that the environment would be harmed if it stands.

New regulations for deepwater drilling were imposed following last year's deadly rig explosion and Gulf oil spill.

More of Gores gaggle of goons.    The only thing wrong with the enviornment is the goon squad.     Restrictions, fish, lizards, spotted owls, is there no end to people especially Obama (the Destroyer) who is trying to stiffle everything – mainly us.   We all want a clean evironment, there is the logical way and the goon way.    They need to get a life — in another country!

Has anyone challenged their STANDING in filing the suits?  I recall multiple suits challenging Obama’s eligibility being thrown out because the challengers lacked standing to sue.  What standing do a bunch of Marxist oriented advocacy groups have?

No one of us should be surprised at this. The Left own the environmental movement and have succeeded in influencing a gullible, ignorant and weak Congress to pass the laws they now use in empathetic courts to allow a relatively small, fringe group of environmental ideologues to effectively impede the production of America’s vast energy resources. It is a frustrating story that will continue until the Congress cuts these people off at the knees; figuratively of course. I see no hope for this happening anytime soon. The “environment” rules.

Do a little digging and you will discover Maurice Strong and George Soros have financed this lawsuit! They are doing their utmost to destroy any American Oil Industry development, mean while sinking large sums of money into Brazilian Oilfield development! Soros had Obama extend the moratorium on drilling in the gulf to help with that agenda! Then, we see our Marxist Pseudo-president give $2,000,000,000 of our hard earned tax dollars to Brazil to help in that endeavor!
Soros has declared his intention to destroy the American economy! He is truly the most dangerous man on the planet!

It’s about time that we dismantle the EPA and the ACLU as a waste of time and the waste of good money going down the drain. Just think of the savings we will get from just those two.

MACONDO/DeepWater was an abberation and not The Normal in Oil Exploration.  B P had an outragous safety record in The Gulf, racking up Hundreds more violations than all others (drilling) Combined. But THE WEDGE WAS inserted, and Manipulation in Government is now under way BIGTIME. Given the permit slowdown , the Brazil “INVESTMENT”, EPA  Rules revisions regarding Co2 output from increased use of  added domestic Petroleum,it is patently obvious BHO and Associates view this country, and it’s Citizens, as some thing to be Beaten On for supposed wrongs of all imagined sorts. Think back to BHO’s statement of where HE wanted energy costs to be and look at our reality. He effectively GOT what He wanted, and no tax raise was needed.  But Few in this country even remember last week unless it concerns THE Voice, Or American Idol, and  Varied  Bread and Circus examples so numerous ,that we  so dearly seem to enjoy. Richie  has a couple good ideas, but ACLU is Privately funded. No savings there, you don’t give them anything. NOW, The Dept of Education, THERES A TARGET!
