Biden says gay marriage 'inevitable'

By GOPUSA Staff

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Vice President Joe Biden says U.S. attitudes are evolving on the issue of gay marriage and he thinks it's inevitable there will be national consensus.

He said on ABC's "Good Morning America" Friday the same thing is happening with the issue of marriage that happened with gays' service in the military.

Changes in attitudes by military leaders, those in the service and the public allowed the repeal by Congress of the "don't ask, don't tell" policy that will eventually allow gays to serve openly in the military.

Gay marriage is still not legal in most states. President Barack Obama recently said his feelings on the gay marriage issue are evolving, but he still believes in allowing strong civil unions that provide certain protections and legal rights that married couples have.

Since Proposition 22 passed in California in 2000 – defining marriage as between one man and one woman – people have attacked the voters’ decision from all sides. They say that this definition of marriage is unconstitutional and backward thinking.
    Here’s what we know:
1-God ordained marriage is between one man and one woman.
2-The history of this country was built upon the foundation of marriage and Biblical principles.
3-The traditional institution of marriage is the best institution for raising children.

First, I think the physical act of gay sex is just plain wrong. Period. Its not the immorality of the act, but the physical impropriety that is my basis. I don’t think any law or doctrine will ever stop it, so I accept its inevitability. Even historical attempts to kill gays fail in the long term since most afflictions are chronic, or so science says. I don’t know how I would think if I were gay but I would hope to live a celibate life if I were.
As far as two people deciding to form a “marriage contract”, I can see ANY two people forming such a contract. While it is not the original concept why people marry, if it is viewed as a mutual agreement to live a life together and share in all things where there may or may not be love, I understand it from a legal point of view. (Love is missing from many marriages.) Again, I do not support homosexuals’ sexual relationship, but allow that such acts are going to occur whether or not they are married. So, I understand where Biden is coming from on this.
What is needed is stronger education about the medical dangers of homosexual sex. Trying to rely upon Biblical passages isn’t going to have any effect on couples that want to be together, since they are more likely to abandon their religious beliefs than leave the person they want to be with.

It is very interesting that a man like Joe Biden get very upset every time someone claims he is not a person of faith and says that the next person that says he is not a person of faith will get his rosery beads shoved up his *** and seems to support gay marriage. This is why we need a constitutional amnedment defining marriage as a holy union between man and women. Every society that has previously santioned gay marriages has
ceased to exist. This is what happens when the government takes the Bible out of the school system and progresives want to ignore the fact that it was by God’s divine providence that this nation was founded.

It doesn’t matter what you call it marrage doesn’t have anything to do with sexual relations.
Marrage is a joining of two people for the procreation of the species, this can’t happen in a gay union.
Now to get to don’t ask don’t tell, since it has been repealed does that mean do ask and must tell? I can just see the law suits when some gay is put into a combat company when they think they should only be in logistics or someother non-combantent unit because they are being picked on and put in danger.

Biden is simply WRONG. Marriage requires both sexes to be valid. any other interpretation is a redefinition of the word “marriage”.
The same legal rights and privileges can be assigned to a homosexual union, but the word used for the name of this homosexual union must be something other than marriage.
The only possible reason for insisting that queer marriages be allowed to exist is to destroy the institution of “Marriage”.

What we need is a “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy for ALL federal officials (BOTH elected AND appointed) that prohibits anyone who’s either openly or even secretly gay from serving in the Federal government in any capacity (including in the armed forces) and requires that ALL gays currently in the government be EXPELLED! That should go a long way in getting rid of the crazy anti-Americans there!

Question 1: Can you name these societies that sanctioned gay marriages and then ceased to exist?
Question 2: Since nearly every society that has ever existed has “ceased to exist” and most of them have NOT sanctioned gay marriages, does that lead to the conclusion that NOT sanctioning gay marriage leads to societies ceasing to exist?

Look up the word’STUPID’in the dictionary and you will see a picture of Joe The Joke Biden. Let’s face the fact that this is one dumb white man. He calls himself a catholic, but real Catholics refer to him as a ‘cafeteria catholic’, which means he picks which tenets of the Church he will follow and to hell with the rest. Real Catholics understand that God defined marriage as between one man and one woman, Joe is just another in a long line of Democratzi’s who lies about the Catholic Church and the teachings. He should have been excommunicated years ago, but his Bishop doesn’t have the courage to do what is right for the Catholic Church. Joe has diarrhea of the mouth and cannot be trusted with reality.

Joe “The Joke” Biden is another ‘cafeteria’ catholic, (small ‘c’) who like Nancy Pelosi needs a swinging door on the confessional since they are constantly commiting sins agains the Church for their actions in Washington. They both should have been excommunicated years ago, but neither one of their Bishops have the gonads to do the deed. I think if it were a public excommunication, it would send a message the the Real Catholic Church in America is serious about kicking these Liberals to the curb and let them go find another faith that they can pick and choose what they will honor and what they will not. They give the rest of us ‘practing Catholics’ a bad name.

Of COURSE marriage equality for Gay couples is inevitable. It may not happen soon, but it will eventually happen.
While it’s true that the Constitution doesn’t define “marriage,” the federal government has complicated the issue by taking a vested interest in married couples for the purposes of tax law and Social Security (among the 1,138 legal benefits, protections, and responsibilities that are automatically bestowed on couples once they marry). Therefore this is not an issue that can be left up to the states to decide individually, since it wouldn’t do for a Gay couple that is legally married in Iowa, for instance, to become automatically UN-married once they decide to move somewhere else.
Religious beliefs are irrelevant to this debate, because (1) the United States is not theocracy, and (2) churches will continue to be free to conduct or deny ceremonies to whomever they want.
Procreation and parenting are irrelevant, since (1) couples do not have to marry to have children, and (2) the ability or even desire to have children is not a prerequisite for getting a marriage license.
This is simply a matter of equal treatment under the law.
The quest for marriage equality by Gay couples has absolutely nothing to do with Straight (i.e. heterosexual) couples. Nothing is changing for them. Nothing is happening to “traditional marriage.” Most people are Straight, and they will continue to date, get engaged, marry and build lives and families together as they always have. None of that will change by allowing Gay couples to do the same. This is really not any sort of a “sea change” for marriage, since the only difference between Gay and Straight couples is the gender of the two persons in the relationship.
Often I hear it said, “Let Gay couples have their legal benefits, just don’t call it MARRIAGE.”
There is admittedly some disagreement within the Gay community over what’s more important, the word “marriage” or the benefits and responsibilities that are connected with it. As someone who prides himself as being nothing if not diplomatic, I would take simple legal equality under the law, even if the operative term is “civil unions.” If social conservatives simply wish to reserve the term “marriage” for heterosexual couples, they can have it, as long as Gay couples are treated fairly. I really would rather not quibble over terminology.
The reason some people object to the term “civil unions” is because they fear such a designation would not entail full legal equality, at all levels of government. They insist that “separate is not equal.” Unfortunately that phrase harkens back to the days of racial segregation, when separate was indeed NOT equal, because the public facilities that Blacks had to settle for were invariably substandard.
However, it is MY personal belief that if “civil unions” conferred ALL the same legal benefits, protections, and responsibilities of marriage, at ALL levels of government, that would be acceptable, and I think most other Gay people would agree.

The feds gave families special benefits because the traditional family is an asset to society and should be encouraged.
Obviously, financial breaks were not enough to keep the traditional family strong and they will not be enough to make a homosexual ‘family’ normal. Such an alliance is obviously not normal. It is deviant and no amount of political correctness, laws, federal enforcement or wishful thinking can ever make it normal.
The most you can accomplish by taking over the word “marriage” is to fool yourself into thinking you are normal and that your relationships are normal. Homosexuals think that a legal blessing by a socialist government will create genuine acceptance. It will not.
Political correctness has evolved to the point that most people are now polite to your faces but they still make fun of you behind your backs and they always will.
State legalized marriage will become less and less important as homosexuals succeed in changing laws.
Even more normal people will simply live together because state legalized marriage will come to mean nothing. Normal couples, who want a marriage that means what it has traditionally meant, will marry in the church and skip the legal farce.
You will soon see polygamists, people who want legalized sex with children and people who want to marry their goat or their goldfish fighting for the same ‘civil right’ that you have.
I hope you will enjoy the depraved society that you have helped to create.

One thing you should learn is that nothing is ever put to rest permanently.
Marriage has been between a man and a woman for all of human history but that doesn’t stop deviates from attempting to change it. It won’t stop polygamists from wanting that same ‘civil right’ you claim to have on exactly the same grounds you attempt to claim it.
Next will come the constitutional amendment to preserve marriage between a man and a woman.

A constitutional amendment to ban Gay couples from getting married? It might have been a possibility 20 years ago, but not now. Today most Americans are aware of friends, family members, and co-workers who are Gay, and with that awareness has come growing acceptance and support. I realize that there are still a lot of people who are uncomfortable with the idea of marriage equality for Gay couples, but not so much that they are willing to go through the monumental effort of amending the Constitution to prohibit it.

    DEAR LUCY LU:
If the constitutional amendment you envision preserves “marriage” for Straight couples but also allows “civil unions” for Gay couples, it might actually stand a chance of passage. But if it eliminates any and all possibility of legal protection for Gay couples, it won’t stand a snowball’s chance in Hell. PROMISE.

I am sad to see Joe Biden is no longer Catholic (in the true sense).
As long as Christians (in the true sense) are in the majority, how can there be a national consensus that gay marriage will be inevitable?
It is the CINO (catholics/christians in name only) and the non-religious non-God-fearing people that are accepting if sin that will accept gay marriage, if nothing else than to rub it in the face of those that think those actions and lifestyle are sinful. If only they were as respectful and accepting of those of us who wish to live and practice our faith in God.
