BAGHDAD (UPI) -- More than 100 Iraqi insurgents were killed or arrested and four car bombs were diffused in separate military operations in Baghdad over the weekend.

The Kuwait News Agency KUNA reported that the military operations were part of a new Iraqi security plan announced recently by Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.

A press release said that in addition to the operations this weekend, 937 displaced families were able to return to their homes.

The new Iraqi security plan has resulted in the killing or arresting of more than 800 Iraqi insurgents, officials said.
