Patrick DiCanio
New Jersey Editor
Patrick Joseph DiCanio was born in Queens, New York in 1979 to Linda and Norman of Italian and Irish descent. In 1985, he moved to New Jersey and has been in love with The Garden State ever since. After attending public grade school and Jesuit High School at Saint Peter's Prep, he entered college at Creighton University. There he was elected the Vice President of College Republicans for one year.
When Patrick returned home after that one year in Nebraska, he entered the work force and continues to pay his own way through college. He is currently employed with Broadview Networks. He is in Sales Development and networks socially and business to business throughout the Tri-State area. He remains a student. He is married to Nicole, a wonderful first generation American born to LEGAL immigrants from the Philippines. He has a daughter, Rosary, and one more on the way.
Volunteering and public activity are very big parts of life to Patrick. He volunteers during the spring and summer at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and other organizations around NY and NJ. He is a faithful and prayerful man for others.
His political activities have included working with the Giuliani Senate Campaign, also the Lazio Campaign. He also worked on telephones and pamphleteering for Doug Forrester's Gubernatorial and Senator McCain's first presidential bid. He is slowly getting involved in the local politics of Bergen County and statewide affairs in NJ. When he feels there is an issue he wants to be heard on, he will write appropriate letters to officials. Often he will attempt to speak out on Talk Radio with Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, or John Gambling -- with some success. He is a Notary Public.
One of the goals in Patrick's life is to get into a position in his own life to be able to run for and be elected to a legislative position in New Jersey. He feels it is one way he can give back where he has received so much and try to effect change in the political system in New Jersey.
One turning point in the life of this New Jerseyan was September the Eleventh, 2001. The entire nation rallied behind our President, our Troops and then Mayor Giuliani as we faced America's greatest challenge. One of his strongest beliefs is a need to help, even at the local level, to keep the Conservative message alive and growing. He intends to help keep America strong against her enemies foreign and domestic. That is why he is proud to hold the position of New Jersey State Editor for GOPUSA.com.
