Conservatives launch boycott of Mozilla after homosexuals force CEO out

By Washington Times (DC)

brendan_eichConservative activist Ben Shapiro is leading up an online charge of fellow political compadres to boycott the browser Firefox -- an outraged response to the Mozilla chief's departure from his CEO role due to gay rights' protests.

Former CEO Brendan Eich, who's been with Mozilla since its creation and actually helped found the company's charitable offshoot foundation in 1998, announced this week he's stepping down from the role over a flap generated by a $1,000 donation he made to a California campaign that sought to ban same-sex marriage in the state.

Mr. Eich made the donation five years ago, but his promotion to CEO brought the issue to the forefront once again. And the ensuing outcry from the gay rights crowd and certain Mozilla employees on social media ultimately pushed him to abandon the leadership post.

But now conservatives are striking back.

Mr. Shapiro has started a movement -- complete with petition -- to get as many Internet users as possible to "uninstall or cease using Mozilla," he wrote on his website, TruthRevolt.org, replacing his traditional news content with simply the call-to-arms, Raw Story reported.

"Pardon this interruption of your TruthRevolt experience," the message continued. "Mozilla recently forced its CEO, Brendan Eich, to resign over his personal support for traditional marriage. The firing followed a vicious smear campaign against Eich by dating website OKCupid, in which OKCupid blocked Mozilla users from visiting their website."

Mr. Shapiro was referencing how OKCupid last week, in attempt to sway public opinion against Mr. Eich, disallowed anybody using the Mozilla Firefox browser from accessing their online dating services.

Mr. Eich donated $1,000 to support Proposition 8 in California.

CEOs have the same rights to beliefs and opinions as any ordinary employee or citizen. No one should be forced to trade personal convictions for political or cultural correctness regardless of employment or position in the secular world. What? Is support for homosexuality now going to be a creed to which one must adhere? A statement of “faith?” How about political party affiliation? Diet preferences? Or, why not just write it in the business requirements for employment: “Those of traditional conservative persuasions, including followers of the biblical Jesus need not apply. Current employees found to be in violation of these statements will be required to either recant their position or resign immediately.”

Was a new law passed that I am unaware of?. There are two sides to every story. He has a opinion, and a right to support any organization he wishes to support. What if he had donated the money to the Gay rights movement?. Does anyone believe that the traditional marriage group would file suit against him, or pressure him into stepping down because he does not stand behind traditional marriage?.

What has happened to our Country?. What fringe rules are we now living by, and how has the power shifted from the many, to appease the few?. NObamas politically correct mentality is destroying our Country. It is time for him to loose his grip on America and Americans.
We must take the Senate, and hold the House in November. This will possibly not build the framework to get him out of office, but at the very least, it will severely clip his wings and cap his powers. He is simply too powerful, with all the blind Liberals, and Media pushing all of his agendas.
He literally broke the law, when he told everyone not to recognize, marriage as between 1 man, and one woman. This, however, should not be any surprise, as he has stomped all over our many of our laws, and Constitution. Much of it is our fault, as we let him get away with it one law at a time without opposition and demanding his impeachment.

He is black, so he has a get out of jail free card. We need to shred that card, and put him in his place. Vote Conservative in November, and at least give us a chance to stand up to this bully.

I first heard about this on the Rush Limbaugh radio show. I really wish Mr Eich had stood his ground and fired right back at them.. That’s what it is going to take if this nonsense is ever going to stop. The Left feels that they can intimidate and push around whomever they choose and force them into submission and silence.

This will only continue until they find out that we are not going to be bullied. People MUST start standing up to these tactics by the Left.

On your list is Google Chrome

Google celebrate homosexual marriage on their website

Do not know of the other companies browsers what is their view, but with Google it is jumping from the frying pan into the fire, not to mention they collect all your usage data

I believe this is a good reason for conservatives to drop Firefox and any other Mozilla product. Can you imagine the outrage if a CEO was harassed for donating money to a cause that supported gays? Gays are disgusting to me. Call me a homophobic and I will step up to the plate. I don’t care. They will always disgust me. I consider them all to be the sadist and most confused people on the planet, they don’t even know where what goes.

You are not alone in your thinking that they are disgusting. Now if they don’t flaunt it in your face or run around all swishy and stupid acting I would/could probably care less. Act like a normal human and I have no problem with what you do in your private life. Shove it down my throat and make me accept your nonsense and now we have a problem. Two guys or for that matter two women in public playing kissy face grosses one out. Even seeing two guys walking along holding hands, hugging or sitting on each other’s lap, etc., is sickening. Going to act like an idiot please do it where I don’t have to see it and am forbidden by law to whip some sense into you.

Are you sure the alternative browser companies are not worse?

The assumption being made in this boycott, there is a secure, reliable browser made by a company which has not bowed to the pressure from the Sodomites making demands at the door to send out the angels

John Stuart Mill said “‎Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing.”

However, we know that is not true, good people do want to do something

Which makes it more what Jesus said “how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man?”

That is what first must be undone, what is binding

      @ Jota -

Regarding your comment wondering whether or not the other browers are worse.

I don’t know if Opera and Maxthon are worse. I am hoping that someone will come up with a browser that allows us to use the Internet without collecting data. BUT, here’s why I dropped Google a couple of years ago and why I am working on deleting Firefox from my computer — Both companies became political mouthpieces.

When Google first came out, I loved it, but then one day when I typed in George Bush’s name, the top five sites claimed he was a war criminal. Then they completely ignored Veteran’s Day but celebrated May Day. I’ll pass, thank you very much.

With Firefox, I was happy using it. No problemo. Then they decided to start promoting homosexuality by forcing out the new CEO, who developed Java Script, because he had a political belief someone didn’t agree with. Sounds like Totalitarianism to me. And if that is how they want to run their company, fine by me. If Opera or Maxthon get into the political arena, I’ll dump them, too. These companies are here to provide a service, not to tell us how to think.

Epic Privacy Browser for Windows and Mac is based on personal privacy and Mozilla open source. This means that it has some of the traits of Firefox but protects the user, seemingly well. It imported Firefox data well and works to my liking so far. I’ve deleted FF from this machine but have 3 others to go still.

“because he had a political belief someone didn’t agree with. Sounds like Totalitarianism to me.” Taquoshi

What they fail to realize, totalitarianism is a game open to all but where only one wins and it is highly unlikely their view will be THE ONE to prevail because their view requires that water flow uphill, which means it can only exist in an open and tolerant society, the very thing they are working to destroy

It is the same lunacy shown by atheist attacking religion, so they (churches) are not free to practice their belief.

What they fail to understand, freedom of religion does not benefit religion, religion is perfectly capable of forcing its belief on to others, it benefits science, which requires a lot of learning to understand it, and is what they hold as true and does not need the existence of a supreme being

Have you heard what the LGB… fascists did to a family in Massachusetts who disagreed with the radical activism in government schools to indoctrinate young children in non-traditional family structures? I find it even more outrageous, though the headlined story is likewise disgusting and unacceptable.

Comment by Taquoshi: Your mistaken, in 2008 Brendan Eich, donated $1,000.00 in support of the banning of same sex marriage. But it was this month that he was forced to step down as CEO. Since tinkerbell obama has given his support and encouragement to sodomy, this abomination has exploded.

You are correct in that the donation in support of Proposition 8 was made by Mr. Eich in 2008.

The incident that I was referring to was the 2005 incident where a Massachusetts father, David Parker was not only escorted off school property but jailed after he told the principal that he did not want his then five year old son to be exposed to the curriculum on homosexuality.

      Both incidents were wrong.
