Obamacare, a deliberate scam to introduce single payer

By Washington Times (DC)

Obamacare may have crashed sooner than the White House wanted, but it was always intended to end in failure. The Affordable Care Act could not simply provide coverage for the uninsured while letting the rest of Americans keep their own health care at the same price. President Obama made a lot of promises to get the law passed and enacted in order to push toward his ultimate goal: the whole country on a single-payer, government-run health care system.

On Wednesday, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius attempted to persuade Congress that the colossal failure of the website was evidence that "millions of Americans are clearly eager to learn about their options and to finally achieve health security." At the end of the lengthy hearing of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rogers pointed to a video screen and showed Mrs. Sebelius that the Obamacare website had been down for the entire hearing. "This is more than a broken website. This is a broken law," said the Washington Republican. "Millions of Americans are getting notices their plans are being canceled."

Asked about the NBC report that up to 80 percent of the 14 million Americans with individual policies will be canceled, the secretary countered, "They can get health insurance. They must be offered new plans, new options, either inside the marketplace, or if they don't qualify for a financial subsidy, they can shop inside or outside of the marketplace."

In other words, Obamacare's mandated standards - like maternity care, mental health coverage, mammograms and prescriptions - means Americans are forced into either spending up to double their previous premiums or going through the government. That has been borne out by thousands of American families who wanted to keep their health plans but have received letters from their insurers saying they could not.

The Obama administration has known since at least July 2010 that individual markets would see this drastic turnover, according to the NBC report, yet the president continued to say that Americans could keep their insurance plans. It was a deliberate scam. Sen. Michael B. Enzi told me Wednesday, "Obamacare, both by design and by effect, undermines the private insurance market through new taxes, mandates, red tape and regulation." The Wyoming Republican added that the higher costs would force people "out of the free market and into the federal and state health insurance exchanges."

The other way that the health care law is designed to force people into government programs is by expanding the Medicaid system, which is a budget-buster and a risk for worse health care. Sen. Marco Rubio, Florida Republican, said on Fox News on Tuesday, "The design was to push a growing number of people onto Medicaid programs across the country, moving more and more people into like a single- payer-type environment."

Obamacare proponents secretly wanted a system of universal health care. The rollout of the law was carefully orchestrated so that the voters got goodies like coverage for pre-existing conditions before Mr. Obama's re-election in 2012, but only found out afterward that they can't keep their insurance and that prices would increase.

Harry Reid, the Senate majority leader, said on Aug. 9 that Obamacare is just the first step to "work our way past" employer- provided health insurance to a government-run health care system. "What we've done with Obamacare is have a step in the right direction, but we're far from having something that's going to work forever," the Nevada Democrat said on Vegas PBS. When Mr. Reid was asked whether the country would eventually move beyond the private company insurance delivery for health care, he replied, "Yes, absolutely."

Ten years ago, Mr. Obama openly called himself a "proponent of a single-payer, universal health care program." He moderated his stance when running for national office, but only owing to the logistical difficulty in moving everyone away from private coverage to government insurance plans. This reveals that he doesn't put his faith in the private sector, market economics or individual choice.

Mr. Obama's worldview is one in which the government knows better than we do what we need. American is a nation based on individualism, self-reliance and free enterprise, and should never have a government-run health care system.

I wrote this in another category, but it also applies to this post.

Equality of result is always appealing to those who are less successful and it is the reason the French philosopher Alexis de Tocqueville wrote in 1835 that the US as a democracy would not last more than a few years. He visualized it as rule by a Mob being rewarded with the wealth of others, but in today’s world it is more subtle than that simple model. As an example, I’d like to describe a meeting between the head of the royal commission to investigate the failing fruit-growing industry in BC, Canada, a university administrator, and the president of the fruit grower’s group who was himself a grower and former partner in a private packing plant. At that time in the 1960s private packing plants had been outlawed and the grower was required by law to sell to “Central Selling”, a government monopoly. The orchardist was being paid $0.50 a bushel at the government packing plant and two days later the bushel was being sold for $5.00 per bushel in Vancouver. Those who drove the trucks and those workers who sold the apples consumed 90% of the potential profit, but the risk was being carried by the orchardist and the store owner with the unionized truckers and store employees having no risk and quite naturally the orchardist was prohibited by law from carrying his own apples to market. At another time, I listened to a Continental Can executive complaining that they were having to throw away half the peaches from some orchards and the president of the growers association saying the grower got the same money for a box of rotten peaches that they did for a box of select fruit. The canning company executive wanted to pay more for useable peaches than for rotten ones, but “Central Selling” prohibited such unfair practices.

As one drove up the Okanogan Valley from the prosperous orchards on the American side to small, un-pruned orchards on the Canadian side, one could in the 1960s and 1970s easily see the effect of “Central Selling” and the lack of money to care for orchards. Today many of those soft-fruit orchards raise grapes for wine and I presume much of the soft fruit is imported.

In the Obamacare centralized healthcare law, I see the BC fruit industry model on a grand scale with no one getting good medical care and some having rotten fruit and others select fruit, but with ever increasing federal effort to equalize result.

      Excellent analogy,
We have a runaway Government, which decries anything one accomplishes without their interference, input, law, or permission.. It is obvious they want to make America fully Compliant, and Governmentally dependent, so that Marxism, and Muslimism can be ushered in.
The big problem I have with that is, all of it. Americans were born in the bosom of freedom. We have fought, bled, and died for it for near 300 years, and it is our legacy, and well established depth of what, and who we are.
The Slaves were freed from tyranny, but it appears to me that the Plantation owner living in the Whitehouse wants to re-instate Slavery, but a Slavery to Government Control, on a National basis. This mind set with Nobama is alive and well. Read his books, listen to his defense, he is the worst Racist we have ever seen in America. Anyone who stands up, or speaks out, against him is a Racist. He uses his color as a sword and shield, to gain compliance and or submission from his opposition.

He has our Military personnel risking their lives fighting against Dictatorships/Tyranny in other Countries, only to replace them with those which he backs, such as the Muslim Brotherhood leaders. This, while he does the same on our own soil, by taking up the whips to become the Dictator here. He began his tirade with small steps, simply so that he could ascertain just how far we were willing to let him go. He now takes Giant steps, and leaps, because he knows that he will not be heavily apposed, as in the beginning. He is slowly but surely turning the Americas into caged, Governmentally trodden, and totally obedient, compliant little slaves.
What he fails to realize, is that any animal or human, even the meekest, when pushed into a corner, will turn and fight hard for it’s freedom. This is the scenario being forced upon the loyal American Citizens, and I believe, as always, when we are backed into that corner, our adrenalin begins pumping, and our fight or flight takes over, that he will find out that we will not cower there, nor let any bullies of any dress, take us down without a severe fight for our own freedoms.
We are Americans, Let us never forget that, nor let it be taken from us by anyone, or anything. Loyalty to God, Country, and Constitution. God Bless America.

** “When Mr. Reid was asked whether the country would eventually move beyond the private company insurance delivery for health care, he replied, “Yes, absolutely.”" **

So the long range plan is to shut down the health insurance companies? Force them to close shop and put millions of people out of a job?

Oh, No-No-No—Nr Obama is working hard to create jobs and strengthen the economy—you don’t suppose he lied about that, too??

Mr Genius and his Liberal brainlesstrust—who know nothing about the healthcare industry, private insurance, and creating jobs—have now gone and mucked up all three segments of our economy. There was absoultely no need to take away heaolth insurance from people who already had it and were happy with it.

Doctors are closing their practices—a lot of those who are holding on along with a number of hospitals are staying away from Obamacareless—employees are having their hours cut back—the list of senseless tragedies keeps growing.

Now, here’s a question—if Obamacareless and single-payer are rejected by the American people—which they should be—are the insurance companies going to regroup and reissue the policies they previously had in force to the people who previously had them? Are the doctors who left their practices going to return?

Obama has created a total mess on the front end and the back end—whether he succeeded or failed, he intended to continue to perpetrate hardship on the Anerican people.
