Will the Obama administration get away with it?

By Augusta Chronicle (GA)

Even after explosive congressional testimony on the Benghazi scandal by heroic whistleblowers on Wednesday, the nation is left with a growing list of unanswered questions.

Who in the Obama administration decided to deceive Congress and the American public on what caused the Sept. 11 attack last year on our embassy, which led to four deaths and many injuries?

Why did they bald-faced lie to us, repeatedly -- even as they secretly admitted to Libyan authorities as early as Sept. 12 that they knew it was a terrorist attack? Why tell us a different story -- which turned out to be a fairy tale?

As for that fairy tale, who in the administration concocted a wholly false narrative that the attack was the result of a street protest outside our embassy over an anti-Muhammad Internet video? U.S. ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice told that lie most prominently on all the Sunday talk shows. Who told her to tell that lie?

This government carried its lie so far that it had the video's producer arrested -- apparently hoping they could scapegoat him for all time.

What are they hiding, and whom are they protecting?

They're sure protecting someone in the administration -- a whole lot better than they protected our diplomats in Benghazi.

Who decided in the weeks and months before the attack to decline urgent requests from the embassy there for more security? How could they have left it so vulnerable on the anniversary of 9/11?

Is it true that a rapid response force in Tripoli was mobilizing to respond to the attack when they were told by someone in our government to "stand down" and let our embassy burn? If so, who and why?

Was the lying and cover-up an attempt to pave the way for Obama's re-election -- to avoid a huge embarrassment on the cusp of the election, that his administration completely miscalculated the threat from terrorists and left our embassy personnel in the lion's cage?

If so, how is that any nobler than Watergate? Isn't it even more despicable?

Why have the whistleblowers felt coerced, if not threatened, into silence until now?

How is it that those responsible for this scandal still have their jobs?

As much as the major news media want to change the subject -- they decided the tabloid story of the kidnapped women in Cleveland was somehow more impactful on all our lives -- Benghazi isn't going away.

Let's hope not, anyway.

That brings us to perhaps the most important of all the questions surrounding this scandal: What if the government gets away with this?

What if there is no accountability for all of this? What if there are no repercussions for leaving the embassy open to attack; not lifting a finger to save our murdered embassy personnel; lying about it all for days on end, at the highest levels of government; trying to cover it up for months on end; trying to intimidate witnesses into silence, and more?

What kind of precedent will that set? Will this or future administrations be above anything? If they can throw these courageous,

hazardous-duty public servants under the bus, what won't they be capable of?

What will Americans be saying about ourselves if we meekly acquiesce to

substantive and brazen lying by our government about life-and-death matters? Won't we be graciously requesting more lies and abuse?

And, after our government has thrown these good and decent folks under the bus, won't we then be throwing them to the wolves with our indifference?

Our brave Americans serving us in the treacherous forward-area of post-Gadhafi Libya in no way deserved their fate.

If we remain unmoved, surely we will deserve ours.

Just an off the cuff observation. Every time the SEALS (some of the finest, most qualified, secretive and patriotic warriors in our military ) are mentioned, it’s always SEAL team 6. They must be the busiest group or the largest in the entire armed forces.

They live constantly in harm’s way and to sit in the comfort of the white house and watch them die trying to defend our ambassador and his staff stuns me to the core. A drone operator has testified that Bengasi was under observation all of the time.

Another off the cuff: The men in “Act of Valor” were identified as SEALS by this administration. Unbelievable if true.

Obozo has gotten away with everything that he has wanted to get away with. We will see if GOP has any balls or not. Prophet bashing was their version of it and they continue to lie about it. Got away with Fast and Furious, not enforcing DOMA, funding abortions, illegal invasions, you name the evil and they will like it. Don’t see it changing anytime soon.

I agree that he will get away with it because he has now announced that he will hold a “secret” closed door press conference with reporters. FOX reported on Benghazi for months, but only after ABC got into the frey did Obama decide to speak out. Why behind closed doors? Is it to threaten reporters if they don’t report the Obama mantra? Why were only certain reporters invited to the “press conference”?

He is still trying to control the conversation and keep himself insulated from the fallout. Congress MUST continue to keep this fiasco alive until all the truth is exposed.

I’m beginning to think that the members of congress and many of the “news” media are being threatened by someone (who could it be). Each of our founding fathers risked life and limb to separate this nation from England. Most of these suede shoe congressional members and so called reporters we have now won’t even risk their jobs to do what we pay them to do.

Assuming this country survives this nightmare (and it won’t be because congress stands up against obama or the media quits protecting him if it does), I hope that people will remember when, what, where, how and who didn’t protect us from tyranny. But it’s a lot to ask of half of the people to remember much of anything except when their freebees are due.

Things have gotten so out of hand because someone decided that it just wasn’t fair to expect people to do all they can to pay for what they have and get. Now people that have worked and saved are being demonized because they have more than those who didn’t do anything in school or to better themselves in their lives.

Lying to the American people is nothing new to Obama. On January 21, 2009, Obama, as the new president, uttered his first lie. That lie came when he placed his hand on, ostensibly, the bible and swore he will uphold the United States Constitution.

Will O get away with it ?…. Not even a question!
A corrupt press, complicit with everything Obama and a ” democratically” dumbed down electorate equals no problem for Obama.

As far as Obamas “First Lie” : that was when he spoke his very first words … he was born to LIE.

Somehow I believe it won’t work this time. There are many issues to pursue that will result in his being removed from office; this is only one of them.

A fool wants to get his way … a wise man wants to know the truth.

There are too many fools and too few wise men and women serving in our government. There are too many fools and too few wise men and women voting them into office.

The main difference between the foolish voters and the foolish “leaders” they elect is that the voters do so in good faith, hoping the those they elect will actually do well for our country. However, when they elect fools, the elect people who are more interested in getting their way than the truth.

From Obama down through the ranks of those who oppose or aspire to hide the truth, they are fools and distrustful, not honorable enough to serve those whom they have sworn to do so.

I can’t help but wonder just how few of those who are striving to protect this administrations follies, lies, deceptions, manipulations, treasonous, distrustful, dishonorable and other maligned abominate ways have actually put their lives on the line, in harms way to serve and protect our country such as those WHO WERE ACTUALLY THERE have done.

Shame on those who have sought to discredit those who have served with their life on the line and/or willing to do so for God and Country. Our President is an abominate deception through and through, deceiving all those who are foolish enough to follow his folly.

The world is watching how we are handling this. They will judge our country’s trustworthiness accordingly. They can already tell that Obama is not trustworthy … now they will find out if the rest of our leadership and government are or not. If they come to realize that we are a farce in the face of such corruption … the repercussions will follow in the way they deal with us.

There have been great leaders throughout the history of man. There have been great practitioners of corruption as well. Few have been remembered as both.

    Obama-Nation is an Abomination.

The main thing each and every voter, each and every media person must or should learn from the Benghazi happening is the national democrats boldly lie and even lie about lying…its simply a
tactic (along with demons/smears/promises) to get their way or power over people.
Its not just this obvious foreign policy/security set of bold national democrat lies…
its the Obamacare lies, the debt lies, the job-creating lies, the green jobs lies, the Keystone lies and regular insults to our intelligence or reality itself.
These are the arrogant apostles of utopian secular socialism, its how they roll, its what they do, its what they must do to impose absurd expensive toxic policies…the pawn diaper-changing media has not challenged them for years but eventually the reality train arrives in town.
What will the media do now? Will real journalism emerge?

We have allowed the uninformed and ignorant voter fostered by this administration to control the votes and elections. If we don’t reverse this trend we will become the country Obama wants us to be. Not the America we built and fought for in many wars to proclaim our freedoms. This is what the world hates about us the fact that as a free people we determine our destiny not the gov’t.

He will get away with it unless “We the People” hold the media responsible for their complicit behavior. It is up to us to determine if Democracy is crushed and Socialism reigns until the money runs out (and that won’t be long!), or if this Democratic Republic returns us to prosperity. We certainly can’t do that with Obama, Clinton, Reid, Pelosi and a lot more Democrats and many Republican RINOS.

We would be better off if we could change them out today, but must endure the damage they will cause until them. A Weak Impeachment case won’t do it either!

Of course, Obama will get away with this Libya mess. He has gotten way with everything else – ineligibility, voter fraud, and innumerable violations of the Constitution; so, of course he will get away because Republicans are cowardly and because Democrats want to protect him at all costs.

Considering that Ambassador Stevens’ repeated requests for increased security at the Benghazi consulate were ignored, I feel it is fitting for the following question to be put to President Obama and Hillary Clinton, “Why did you want Ambassador Stevens dead? Did he Know something that you were afraid would be revealed?”
