Obama just wants to watch the world burn

By Washington Times

"Some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn." - The Joker in "The Dark Knight"

No one can continue to assert that President Obama is simply incompetent. Yes, he is indeed that. Into his fifth year as president, America is worse off under his command: millions are still out of work - unemployment stands exactly where it was the day he took office; millions more are on food stamps; and, despite his claim otherwise, the U.S. is less respected in the world than ever before.

But that was all before the sequesters. The order trims every dollar spent by the federal government - read: your money - by a paltry 2 cents. To understand the enormity of the cut, consider this: the 2013 budget calls for 3,603 billion dollars in spending; now, with the across-the-board automatic cuts, the government can spend only 3,518 billion Or $3.518 trillion.

For perspective, the federal budget began its rocketlike ascent in 1976. The year before, spending was a scant $331 billion (with a B) in current dollars. During President Carter's first year in office, it soared to $409 billion. President Reagan, in the midst of the Cold War, continued the deficit spending. By 1987, expenditures topped $1 trillion for the first time. Under President George W. Bush, the budget soared above $2 trillion. And in 2009, the budget went from $2.9 trillion to $3.5 trillion. Estimates show cash outlays will top $4 trillion just two years from now.

But the annual deficit was not always commensurate with the growing budget. In 1987, the shortfall was just $149.7 billion. In Mr. Bush's next to last year, just $160.7 billion. But in 2009, the year a community organizer from Chicago took office, the deficit ballooned to $1,400 billion. With three $3 trillion-plus budgets under this president, the deficit has remained above $1 trillion each year - even as tax revenue has averaged about $2.2 trillion.

There is little merit in arguments against spending cuts, and not a speck of support for the theory that America can tax itself out of its growing sinkhole. The federal government simply has grown too large, spends too much. We're now borrowing 35 cents of every dollar we spend. Like any family faced with a shortfall of cash, the first - and, really, only - solution is to reduce spending. It's not rocket science. And Americans are doing just that every day.

So, with all the doom and gloom, what did the president do? Did he seek to sooth America, allay its citizens' fear of Armageddon? Say, "Hey, you are tightening your belt; the least your government can do is cut spending"? Quite the contrary. The president has spent the past few weeks needling up the horrors that will come from cutting a scant 2 cents from every federal dollar spent. America will be less safe, parks will shut down, food will go uninspected, illegal aliens will run free, the elderly will die unattended - the list went on and on.

Republicans offered the president a chance to make his own cuts. Democrats in the Senate, no doubt at his direction, rejected the bill. And it was the president himself who devised the automatic budget cuts, even though he claims the Republicans are solely to blame.

Rush Limbaugh has been saying for months that the president is not the least bit interested in the welfare of the country - instead, he wants to kill the Republican Party for good. And he's right. Last week's intransigence makes that clear. Republicans were ready to negotiate: Not on taxes, House Speaker John A. Boehner said, but on how - and who - the coming cuts hit. The president didn't budge.

But there's more. Like the Joker, Mr. Obama wants to see the world burn. The last thing he cares about is the plight of American families. No, the president wants to gut the Republican Party so he can win back a majority in Congress in 2014 - and secure his legacy. And he's fully prepared to spur chaos to get what he wants.

When lawmakers were engaged in fierce, partisan negotiations, the president could have said: "I see this as this huge opportunity, and it's being squandered by politics, by people who are more interested in a political victory than they are in doing what's right for the country."

But he didn't. Who did?

Mitt Romney.

Whatever his shortfalls, at least he doesn't want to see the world burn. "The hardest thing about losing is watching this, this critical moment, this golden moment, just slip away with politics," he said.

Makes you wonder where the country would be right now if Americans had elected him. But for those who thought him a fool, at least he wasn't The Joker.

Did we expect anything less than “getting worse”?

I certainly did not .. I knew exactly what would happen and guess what?

So far I’m not even semi-sorta-kinda-maybe wrong. (HINT: This is NOT a good thing!)

“The president wants to gut the Republican Party so he can win back a majority in Congress in 2014 – and secure his legacy”.

Obviously the Republican establishment isn’t intelligent enough to realize that, so when the Democrats take control of the House in 2014, they will be whining and complaining about how this could happen. Yet they refuse to do anything while they still have the opportunity, and they keep trying to negotiate with a tyrant who makes them look like fools on every issue.

After all the broken promises from this administration, the Republican Senators still keep falling for it. Obama promised to reveal more about Benghazi IF the Senate would confirm Hagel and Kerry, but that didn’t happen. Now he has promised to be more forthcoming IF they confirm Brennan, so they schedule a vote for one day this week. Hell, let’s see the information on Benghazi BEFORE we vote. But they don’t seem to be that intelligent.

Two numbers Bna–4 million GOP who didn’t vote and 1/2 of voting age Americans who didn’t vote. The greedy, the lazy and the willfully ignorant-the notorious Romney 47%-will be with us for the foreseeable future. But those numbers I cited represent the hopelessness this regime has spread. The “establishment GOP” are progressives who don’t want a change in direction, just a change in who is in control of it. The conservatives haven’t been able-yet-to overcome the hopelessness with their message. We can blame the parrot media for a large part of that but each of us bears some responsibility, too. Each of us has to talk with people, not just those we know but strangers. The conservative message is one of hope and hope is in short supply. If those 4 million GOP voters sit home in 2014, then hope may well be lost for good.

Wake up America! Up until the sequester Obama has gotten everything he asked for and more. Can any other president make such a claim? He is the most competent person I know of. The problem Americans have is they can’t seem to admit Obama wants the destruction of our country as we have known it. He and Michelle have told us often enough what they have in mind but we want to believe his lies and deny when he tells the truth.

Rove is now pushing RINO Jeb Bush and the Conservative myth Christie into running in 2016. How many times will we allow these ‘leaders’ to make the same mistake before recognizing that the drool of their insanity has soaked our clothes??

Great catch? Who gives a good rat’s rear? You do realize the quote was said by a character in a movie, don’t you? The topic here is very serious, but someone cares about the movie quote? No wonder this country is in the toilet.

This president does want to see the country burn or at least he wants people to think it’s burning. Most people won’t even notice and therefore won’t care. That’s why he has to try to pick high profile items to cut.

For example, airport personnel in an effort to alter flight schedules, releasing illegal aliens (which provides more Democrat voters) but may backfire when they get picked up for committing crimes.

Yesterday the White House announced they were grounding the Thunderbirds, so no flyovers for the Air Academy graduation.

Today they shut down White House tours. Both those items are high profile but actually affect only a handful of people.

I wish the American people had given Romney a chance. However, that didn’t happen. What gets me is Obama got his tax hikes the last day of December 2012 and what does he do, wants another tax hike in less than two months. This is all I have heard from him since the day he first took office.
I would think even he is smart enough to know by now, his policies aren’t working. How did he ever get a college degree? It sickens me that we will have to put up with this **** for another 4 years. And also what gets me is everyone knew this was coming for over a year. Did the president ever try and get them together in all that time and when time was running out, He was out declaring gloom and doom all over the country when he should have been leading in washington. Poor excuse for a President and I have seen a lot of them come and go.

I would like for obama and holder to take responsibility for Fast and Furious and the Benghazi incidents. They should both be forced to leave their respective offices.
Also, the democrats need to pay back the social security they borrowed in the 60′s. Part of that money was mine!

For those failing to comprehend the larger picture, keep in mind that Barack Obama is just the most recent in a long line of errand boys (Presidents)doing the lifting for the power elite, who continue to push for a One World Government (OWG). That cannot be achieved until the backbone and will of the American people are broken. Obama with his Socialist Utopian Model of government (Free lunches for everyone) has been more successful than many previous OWD partners. Seeing the country in flames with the Constitution and all it stands for in ruin, fits right into the game plan of these enemies of the people. What they are underestimating however,is the resolve and patriotism of some of the American people who will fight to the bitter end before giving them our country. Who are these behind the scenes traitors, a rational person might ask? Merely google the membership lists of the Council on Foreign Relations, Bilderberg Group and Tri-Lateral Commiission and you may be surprised to see just who it is who has been hard at work selling out our country. But WHEN will that happen? We have seen the Congress, the White House, and even the Courts chip away at our liberties until we are on the verge of becoming slaves, yet nothing has been done. We watch while Homeland Security purchases and stockpiles automatic weapons, ammunition, and now buys tanks while we stand on the sidelines. We can’t expect the media to inform us, and at some point very soon we are going to wake up and realize we have waited too long.

bna42, With the 52% of American fools who empowered Obama for four more years of the same and the conservatives sitting on the sidelines, the country still has not yet hit the bottom of the barrel. When that scenario arrives and let’s hope it never does, you will definitely know it. You will wake up one morning to learn that because of massive debt, the economy has collapsed, the dollar is worthless and can no longer be used to buy milk, bread or gasoline. Within 24 hours there will be chaos in the streets, rioting, looting and burning. Finally, the moment will have arrived for Obama to take ultimate and total control of the country and he will swiftly do so through the Executive Orders already in place. National Martial Law will be declared and with it comes draconian conditions. The Constitution will be suspended, Courts and the Justice System gone in the blink of an eye, travel and movement restricted and government control falls under FEMA. At first, all local state law enforcement will be federalized and serve under control of the military. High on the list of things to do will be seizure of all guns in the country. Then, the shooting will start as many Americans refuse to comply. Many from law enforcement and the military will refuse to fight their own people and jump ship. It will be just like the days of the Civil War, except this time with advanced weapons and more bloodshed. The picture will not be a pretty one, but in the end the enemies of America will loose the battle. For the most part, we may just see a new beginning. Let’s hope this scenario never plays out, but just in case, I would be learning the words to the old song, “Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition please.” Semper Fidelis.

What would anyone expect from one of them? Look at the condition Africa is in and has been in for hundreds and hundreds of years. Are they moving forward, no they are not. Africa looks like a giant trash heap. obama is incompetent, he has not a clue how to run a country. He will soon be gone. One more thing, we need to get rid of the jury duty thing that goes along with signing up to vote. It is the main thing that keeps people from voting. They do not want to lose any of their paycheck because of it. That or pay them what they make at work so they will not lose any of their pay.

I think the jury pool is decided by different methods in different states. I have been told the pool is taken from driver’s license records. In some states it is taken from property tax records and renters are seldom called because they don’t pay property taxes. (Renters are usually the ones who vote for every tax increase and every politician who promises them more wealth redistribution)
