Truckload of Romney Signs Stolen Using Union Vehicle

By GOPUSA Staff

Four men were arrested in Ohio for stealing Mitt Romney signs. The men were arrested early in the morning on Friday after the F-150 truck they were driving was filled with the campaign signs. The truck is registered to the Sheet Metal Workers International, Union Local 33 in Parma, Ohio.

As reported by the Ohio Liberty Coalition, many of the signs that were stolen were put up by members of the Northwest Ohio Conservative Coalition. Their president commented on the incident:

This morning 4 men driving a pickup truck registered to the Sheet Metal Union, Local 33 were arrested and charged with receiving stolen property – in the form of a bed full of Romney/Ryan yard signs, some measuring as large as 4′x8′. Also in the truck were tools such as drills, which were possibly used to take the large signs down. The signs were allegedly removed from several private property and business locations across Lucas and Wood County.

At least an arrest was made this time. People should be on the lookout in these closing days for anything suspicious regarding illegal voting activities... or in this case... flat out theft.

      To true usa4ever… to true.

I get the distinct feeling that democrats (not all, but most) are of the “do as we say and not as we do” mentality. If a dem does it, way left fringe or not..it is excused by the media. If a repub does it (conservative or fringe right wing) it gets blown out into a full story that carries on every media outlet for days on end. *roll eyes* It’s hypocrisy to the enth degree!

I’m for full two sided (or three sided) robust debate. Usually a common goal can be sited and worked towards when we find said common ground. The fight is usually (or used to be) on how best to achieve said common middle ground goal.

Present day? It’s all about do as we say so we can be happy and gloat and tout ourselves educated and edified and doing the best for America by fundamentally transforming the majority under educated, under enlightened, unwashed masses. Ivory Tower Academics should stay in their towers…. dreaming of a Utopia that will never exist.

Thoughts are one thing…. Doing is the reality we all live with.

This is becoming a moronic end to a desperate campaign.
I would be surprised (more like devastated) if I am wrong, however, I see hope & American Patriotic spirit coming alive again.
God bless America, Mitt Romney & Paul Ryan!

Glad they got these guys – I hope the police make them line the streets and highways with them – That would be FAIR PUNISHMENT FOR THE UNION.

If Right to Work was effective in that State at least the union bosses would not be stealing from the workers as many of them will just drop off the union, and they may have a problem sending workers to steal signs or bully voters as some of the unions have been known to do in some States.

From their own website: found here:
    http://www.smwia.org/About-SMWIA.aspx

The Sheet Metal Workers’ International Association (SMWIA) serves to protect and raise the living standards of over 150,000 skilled men and women employed throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. We work in the construction, manufacturing, service, railroad and shipyard industries.
The SMWIA strives to establish and maintain desirable working conditions for its members through their employers. Doing so provides them that measure of comfort, happiness, and security to which every member is entitled to in return for his or her highly trained and skilled labor.

The SMWIA is affiliated with the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) and the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC).

And there it is folks… AFL/CIO… I knew it! These thugs are terrified that their free reign is over… they know they are on their last legs and are willing to do anything to maintain their political thuggerie and power.

    Wish I could say I was surprised… but I can’t.

Side note: Electrical workers who came from southern states to assist in New Jersey in the aftermath of the storm, were sent away because they were not union. Stupid is as stupid does.

The east coast unions have cut a deal with the federal government (Obama administration) that any project funded by the federal government must use union labor. This agreement forces those licensed trade skilled workers to join a union to be eligible to work on any government funded infrastructure project or a massive reconstruction effort like the recovery from Hurricane Sandy. Non-union private companies are not even allowed to bid on the projects. This agreement means that all of these projects are costing the taxpayers much more then they should. The Obama administration has an incestuous relationship with big labor and has had such from when his original campaign in 2008.

This is nothing new as all state and local governments that are primarily dominated by Democrats owe the unions who helped fund their election campaigns. Every state where this is happening (like California) have given the major public service unions considerable say as to policies within their governments. The CTA, for example in California, has offices in the state capital and typically will provide their opinion on anything that may remotely affect them or their constituents. These unions, with their lavish salary and pension agreements negotiated with Democrat politicians, are responsible for the trillion dollar financial liability in California.

Sometime soon, maybe if Romney is elected President, this incestuous relationship between government and big labor has to be brought back down to reality. Big union is one of the main root causes of the loss of millions of jobs to offshore based factories and service industries.

Breaking the law is breaking the law. The truck should have been impounded, the registered owners should be charged as well as those that had the stolen signs.Fines and costs should be paid by the individuals. The union should be barred from being involved in any political issues until such time as a decent probationary sentence is ordered. I would say… at least 4 years probation. This is a serious crime. And yes, I am a union person saying this. I also believe that if they choose to clear land of political signs, they should be ordered to do so after the election, 80 hours of walking the streets and clearing the roadway is is all they wanted to do anyway… At their cost, not the states.

I like your fairness, and sense of justice, and I agree fully.
If all who committed these types of acts, illegal acts, were punished in a fitting, and like manner, I think we would be able to keep our foot on the neck of criminals. Too often in today’s society, slaps on the wrist or suspended jail time rule the day, and if the punishment is not at least commensurate with the deed, then the idea of issuing it looses it’s incentive value. Our justice system is fair, all too often, to a fault.

As with a child, when the parent says I am going to count to three, the child is smart enough to test the waters, until they can get you to count to 3 1/4. At some point the child figures out that the count is pretty much all the punishment they will receive, so it is just a matter of how far past three they can make the parent go, and then so what?.
By the time their deeds are way past the stealing of a cookie, and are now stealing of jewelry, etc, it is too late, as the child has by this time figured out that they can have the Parents arrested if they lay a hand on them. So at a point where they should be spanked, they know you have your hands tied as to what you can do. They also have figured out that the court system also is more than lenient in passing out punishment.
It is this leniency both as a child, and as a young adult, which takes them to the big time. Many times a life could be turned, if they had been caught the first time they did a crime, and were punished accordingly instead of being handled with kid gloves.
Our society has created many criminals, simply by not allowing kids to be punished by their parents. I am not talking about beatings, or such, but a good spanking is a really good deterrent when they are young, to let them see that crime does not go unpunished, nor does it pay.
Yes, I am from the old school, and I had my share of spankings when I acted up, but earned each and every one of them. I was never punished unjustly, and by learning early that I cannot get away with bad deeds, I have lived a fairly descent life with no criminal activities. I learned respect, good manners, and to work for what I want in life. Nothing would be handed to me, and life owed me nothing at all. I always knew I would be dealt with when I was bad/disobedient, but always was told, and shown that I was loved, and rewarded when I was good, to a point.

The kids of today know nothing of being made to follow rules, and respect those older and wiser than they. I have literally seen kids spit at their parents, and simply tell them no if they are told to do something. This is the parents fault, as when they are young, they think it is cute. It does in time, though, bite them in the butt. A time comes when all need to know that there is a boss over them, and that the boss has a big stick.
You can always pick out the Psychiatrists kids, as they are the most unruly of all.
