Sign Burning and More Left-Wing Intimidation

By GOPUSA Staff

There is certainly no doubt that the election between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama is one of the more contentious ever. Just look at Obama's demeanor and the things he said during the last presidential debate. He has taken that classless rhetoric to the campaign trail as well. But his supporters are even worse, now stooping to burning signs on private property and leaving Obama graffiti behind.

First, there is the report by WKMG Local 6 in Orlando, Florida which describes what happened to the signs displayed in the yard of a Vietnam veteran.

Police are searching for the vandals who apparently torched more than a dozen campaign signs and American flags in a Howey-in-the-Hills veteran's yard.

William Overbay said someone ignited the flags and signs, which supported Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, that he had lined along his yard. The vandals also painted a sign on his driveway reading "Obama for life," at his DuPont Circle home, Overbay said.

"This is the first thing I saw was this sign painted on my driveway," Overbay said.

But this isn't the only incident. In Louden County, Virginia, the race between Romney and Obama is also very close, and the sign burning continues. As The Washington Post reports, a 4 x 8 yard Romney sign was set ablaze in the yard of Jack and Libby Stevens.

About 2 a.m. Monday, Leesburg residents Jack and Libby Stevens awoke to the sound of their dogs barking, and quickly saw that their large 4-by-8-foot sign supporting Republican candidate Mitt Romney was ablaze in the front yard.

"What we saw was reminiscent of a [Ku Klux Klan] cross burning," Stevens said in an e-mail. "And that may well have been the effect the perpetrators wished to achieve."

Stevens promptly contacted the Leesburg police, who made a report, he said.

The couple had previously reported the theft of smaller "Romney for President" signs that had been cut off a fence on their property several weeks ago, Stevens said.

"Theft and defacing of political signs is wrong and annoying," he said. "But lighting a front yard sign on fire is much more serious."

What is going on across America? Civility has been thrown out the window, and intimidation has taken its place. What a sad state of affairs.

Desperation and Dem insanity has set in. The only tactic that the Dems know is to intimidate and call names. There is an element of the Dem party that believe they are above the law and can resort to theft and arson to accomplish their goals. These people need to be apprehended and fined and sent to jail for some reflective time.

Maybe that’s Obama’s new “masterplan” combine a welfare/criminal government “we’ll take care of you” along with creating more jobs to house all the perps.

” … There is an element of the Dem party that believe they are above the law … ”

That thought pattern was reinforced by mayors who would not stand up to the OWS protests, and allowed their cities and citizens to suffer many thousands of dollars worth of damage and loss of revenue.

Most of us know right from wrong, and we will do our part as ‘vigilant’ citizens to prevent vandals from performing as political activists by destroying property.

Let us look for root causes:
Welfare recipients that might lose their ‘entitlements’, in this growing “I am ‘entitled to housing, food, cash’ and I don’t have to work” because the ‘Government owes me’ mind set.
Hence the KKK and krystallnacht events.

Heaven forbid that they might actually have to go get a job.

Vandalism, trespassing, defacing signs with spray paint, burning signs, these are isolated acts that go unpunished and therefore encourage others to ‘act out’.

This kind of violence and intimidation by the left in this country is going on everywhere, from the New Black Panthers brandishing billy clubs at the Philadelphia polling place to houses and cars with Romney bumper stickers and signs getting vandalized. Really LIBERAL, the way they deal with those with opposing viewpoints. The word used to be at least partly defined as being open-minded.

What’s even more alarming is the fact that Obama has brainwashed his minions into the desire for a dictatorship with Obama at the helm. The fact that the people who burned down the Romney/Ryan sign painted “Obama For Life” on the victims driveway is a scary thought and a clear indication of Obama’s REAL agenda and his idea of the future of this country.

Goodbye Democracy and The Constitution… hello Cesar Chavez/Fidel Castro etc.

It’s not legal to trespass or take other peoples’ property and that includes all candidate’s signs. If thieves are not stopped, they will continue to do so. Neighborhood watch and report to authorities. People in Florida, if you have lawn sprinklers, turn them on full blast when someone enters your property without invitation. If you can, set up invisible low voltage fences. A few zaps of that may deter preditors. Having a big doberman outside comes in handy. Even if you don’t have a dog, post signs warning “Vicious Dog, be careful!” Motion lights might deter some thieves. We simply don’t put out candidate signs during THIS election that will surely invite vandals. There are too many ‘hot-heads and pot-heads’ running loose.

Here in a Denver, Colorado, suburb, we have replaced our Romney/Ryan yard signs twice after they were stolen and/or destroyed.

My daughter wants to believe that it was just kids messing around, but we have to repeatedly replace our yard signs at every national election, so I have a hard time believing it is just kids. Also, it doesn’t seem to happen to the Obama signs.

Where those individuals ever got the idea that they have a right to commit vandalism and that others do not have the right to think and believe and feel the way they choose to can only be coming from groups affiliated with Socialism and Nazism here in America. Could be that they read Mein Kampf one too many times and took it seriously. May they be caught, their names and photographs revealed before the entire world and sent to prison for fifty years.

This type of vandalism reminds me of the krystallnacht during the rise of Nazism in Germany & Europe prior to World War II. The German storm troopers and youth rioted in major German cities smashing windows of Jewish stores and homes in supposed retalliation for the death of a German by a Jewish youth whose family had been deported. http://www.holocaustresearchproject.org/holoprelude/kristallnacht.html

No one can honestly tell me that they’re surprised about this kind of thing. These are the masses. These are the supporters of the left. These are the open minded and tolerant in our society who should be emulated. If you think this was anything worthy of comment, wait til the election itself. It’s such a tight race now and if Romney gets the nod after all the ballots and provisional ballots and absentee ballots have been counted, watch the reaction of the left. This incident will pale into insignificance by comparison. Fueled by Obama campaign surrogates, media types like Chris Matthews will fan the flames and call for revolt and civil war. You’ll see voting places torched and good, decent, picture ID having, legally voting, natural born citizens beaten and dragged through the streets in retaliation for their hate, intolerance and racism. How Ironic.

This is the same mentatlity of the OWS idiots. In fact, the perpetrators are probably former OWS people who are looking for new ways to perpetrate their brand of socialism. I live in TN and if someone were to come try to ignite a sign on my property I would shoot first and ask questions later. That is the reason that Osama and his band of gestapo want to eliminate guns in the hands of private citizens – they want us at their mercy for their intimidation tactics. Doesn’t matter – too little, too late. The mask is off and the resident evil revealed. Mitt will win because Osama can’t run on his record and people realize that the bottom line is that the economy is in ruins and Osama has neither plan nor intention to make it any better.
