Educating Children... On How to Vote for Democrats

By GOPUSA Staff

There's normally little attention given regarding voter registration and high school children. However, even though most are not old enough to vote, a small number will reach eighteen before election day. With this in mind, one organization was given permission to set up voter registration drives within a school district. The only problem was that they were only supporting Democrats and giving pro-Obama speeches.

In this case, the Pasco County Schools in Florida agreed to let Organizing for America into a number of high schools and middle schools, all in the name of voter "education" and registration. For those of you who don't remember, Organizing for America was Barack Obama group that helped register Democrats leading up to the 2008 election. The group DEFINITELY has a partisan agenda.

As reported by Todd Starnes at Fox Radio, it's not the fact that this group was in the schools registering voters. What's troubling is that no Republican group was allowed to do the same thing. In addition, one volunteer was allowed to give pro-Obama speeches to the students.

According to email correspondence obtained by Fox News, volunteers tried to infiltrate at least three other school campuses - but on-campus officials rebuffed those efforts.

In addition to voter registration, a former teacher was allowed to deliver Obama speeches to a number of senior high school students.

"She got into six classrooms and gave pro-Obama speeches - like way off to the left," said James Mathieu, general counsel for the Pasco County Republican Party. "That got out to parents and parents complained."

Matthieu told Fox News he has filed a complained with the Florida Division of Elections and also contacted the Florida Attorney General's office.

Matthieu also noted the security concerns over what happened, saying, "some of the Organizing for America volunteers identified themselves to school officials as being with the local elections office."

Republican efforts to get equal time in front of the students have continually been blocked. Tampa Bay Online reports that "A Republican's off-again, on-again speaking engagement at Gulf High School is off - again."

The high school's plan to allow Republican state committeeman Bill Bunting to speak came after students at Gulf heard a partisan talk a few weeks ago from a supporter of President Barack Obama.

That supporter, a volunteer with Organizing for America, reportedly gained access to the school by claiming she was with the Pasco Supervisor of Elections Office and there to register students to vote.

In an effort to provide equal time, the school invited Bunting. The principal withdrew that initial invitation, but after Bunting complained the invitation was reinstated and he was to speak Monday.

But the school withdrew the second invitation Sunday on the advice of school board attorney Dennis Alfonso.

The reasoning behind Alfonso's advice is that since the women from Organizing for American lied when she said she was with the Pasco Supervisor of Elections Office and gave a partisan speech, that was a violation of school rules. Allowing Bunting to speak would be another violation.

What do you think? It's obvious that these Obama support groups will stop at nothing to get him reelected... even to the point of lying to gain access to high school children. Charges should be filed, and this woman should go to jail. Period.

Obama is in full desparation mode with only 29 days left and he knows he’s losing. This kind of thing should NEVER be allowed in a school. Had Romney done this, Obama would have sent the Justice Department out immediately to stop it.

The Supervisor of the Elections Office is looking into pressing charges against them for their behavior. It is illegal to claim you are representing the elections bureau. The school also invited a Republican speaker twice but cancelled out both times, the second time on the advice of their lawyer. It shows how desperate the Dems are getting to get more votes…

Listen people….. it is our job as parents ,to talk to our children ,long before some one like this gets to your children. From the get go, i have taught my children patriotism , love of God and country. If we don’t teach our kids , someone else will. And it won’t be what you want them to know. My kids are 14 1/2 and 29 1/2. They are both well aware of what is going on in this country today and how it should really be as the founders made it. My boy comes home telling me we are a democracy. I said ,no , son , we are a republic. Of course he wanted to argue the lies he’d been told in school. But found a way to show my son the very truth of my argument , in a very simplistic way that he and all children can understand . I asked him to say the pledge of alegiance and when you get to the part that says “AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS”, you tell me if we are a democracy or republic. My son has even raised his hand in class (6th grade) and told his teacher that his mother did’nt want him learning what ever they were trying to teachat the time. He got a dirty look for his trouble. Stand up people, stand up for what you believe in. Yes it causes issues for us at times, but i don’t care. I tell my son not to worry about the problems that standing up can bring to him or me. I got my sons back . Be damned the consequences.

See, guys, the key to understanding Libs is their amazing narcissism. The legend, of course, is that Narcissus saw his reflection and fell in love with it. Look at Obama. It is impossible for him to admit that he’s screwed up, or that he is a screw up. Those from the Chicago area know that he’s nothing but a south side ward heeler. But the rest of the country, at least the libs, see him as a messiah, a god-send, a breath of non-stale air. That’s how he sees himself, too. That’s also why he continues to blame his screw ups on others. Welcome to the wonderful world of libs.

Jacqilove: “…the key to understanding Libs is their amazing narcissism.”

Spot-on. I struggled for years to understand why so many apparently intelligent people were willing to attach themselves to the self-indulgent and self-destructive “ideology” we call “liberalism”.

The fact is, it’s not an ideology, it’s a personality disorder, probably best described as a subgenus of Narcissistic Personality Disorder, ie: “Altruistic Moral Narcissism”, or perhaps more accurately: “Altruistic Moral Narcissism By-Proxy”.

The profile of the “Altruistic Narcissist” is essentially the same as every other: self-aggrandising, manipulative, controlling, sociopathic, etc.

The distinguishing feature: they believe themselves to be “morally superior”, hence they arrogate to themselves the right to confiscate other people’s money, and punish them for failing to acknowledge and embrace their particular moral conceits.

That said, Obama is not a Moral Narcissist. Obama is a “Megalo Narcissist”, ie: “Entitled to Rule Others”, as a natural consequence of his personal charisma and superior intellect. Ideologically speaking, he has none — increasing his authority over other people is all that matters. (He resembles Stalin in that regard.)

Once people understand what’s so disturbing about Obama and his sycophants, coexisting with them can be a little less stressful.

There is absolutely no reason for any group to be allowed to speak to “middle school” kids about voter education and registration of voters should not even be discussed at that age. The workings of government can be taught in Civics or government class, but outside political groups should not have access to school students.

The demorats said back in the 60′s they would win the minds of the ill-informed. They meant they would indoctrinate the youth of the country to their way of thinking. Go to any public school anywhere in the US at any level and the signs are every where of just that.

Liberals go out of their way to shut up any conservative messages on college campuses. The list is long.

I agree 100% There is no valid reason for any political group to be allowed in a school to ‘educate and enroll’ our youth to vote. Voter registration is done at any DMV in New York as well as many other none political locations. I agree that civic’s and gov’t should be taught, but i do have to question just which viewpoint they are taught since way too many of our teachers are brainwashed to the liberal left in our colleges and universities. Tere are registered socialist’s and communist’s holding proffessorships in these institutes and IMHO they should all be investigated and fired

      Hi bna,

It would indeed be different if representatives from both sides would be invited in classrooms at high school level as part of civics classes.
That way, the students could witness and participate in real debates, where a teacher could be moderator (hoping that teachers can still be impartial these days: quite a stretch I know).
The largely one-sided political convictions of most of our educators is my real concern here. Especially if those that get invited into the school to talk to our kids, are mainly from one political side.
I always want to hear all opinions before I allow my brain to compare and come to my own conclusions!

I cannot believe the “Chicago maffia” tactics being used to win the re-election of Obama. Using the schools in Florida to try to register students as Democrats is the most disgusting yet. Yes, the woman who lied saying she was with the Pasco County Supervisor of Elections Office in order to obtain permission to speak on behalf of Obama in a high school should be discipined.

How about discipline for the person or persons that allowed the women into the school and allowed a political speech? They should have confirmed that the women was with the election board. Should not be that hard to confirm. Sounds like the administration, or some of the adminstration, wanted the speaker and registration into the school.
BTW, my kids got a wonderful, public education and surprise, the teachers were mostly Repub and they did not get the leftist preaching. They are all successful adults and have always voted Repub. They are not interested in using their hard earned money to support the whims of the left.

Voter ID legal actions are far more disturbing in my mind. Why in this day and age the best nation in the world would be incapable to get every American with voting rights an ID card to prove they are who they claim to be is a SCANDAL!
Stopping attempts to make sure our voting rights are legally protected that way, is in my mind CRIMINAL behavior on the side of our DOJ and other activist judges!
It is another scandal that our MSM refuses to expose for what it really is!

NO political party should have to our schools. The local voter’s office should only go to the high school and speak with the civics/government instructor about leaving voter registration forms. My instructor handed out the forms and the only input he gave was for us to read it and fill it in and mail it. We made our own decision for party affiliation. Thank you Mr. Garr! :-)

As a former European I tend to disagree with the idea that you should leave political ideas out of the schools.
But you have to allow our kids to exposure by ideas from ALL political parties, in a controlled environment, so that they learn to distinguish between them, and learn to make their own choices and decisions.
My teachers did this well in my days in school, but of course in my old country teachers were not so completely in the bag for one political party as the unionized teachers here seem to be these days.
In fact, think about the idea to expose our kids to ‘visitors’ from both parties in their classroom debating each other, and allowing the kids to participate! They would probably learn more from that, than from the liberal teacher indoctrinating them day in day out.
I agree with you that voter registration should be kept outside the school!

So, if I am understanding this correct a woman came to the school, claimed she worked for the Pasco Supervisor of Elections Office and was there to register students to vote and the administration simply took her word for it and let her speak to the students! Seriously! Why would anyone NOT check to verify the story of this person and verify that she was who she said she was, working for who she claimed to be representing, and then ask for more details on her planned speech? Just who do they let in the school without checking out their story?

If someone came in with false credentials and gave a speech about Christianity you can bet they’d have been taken in on all kinds of charges by now. Probably the same would happen if a conservative/Republican had pulled the same stunt. I doubt this woman will even get a slap on the wrist.

A COMPELLING REASON NOT TO VOTE FOR PRESIDENT OBAMA

I believe strongly that the Republicans should use the debate as the basis for a compelling reason not to vote for Obama. Specifically: Many of President Obama’s spokes people (apologists) in trying to defend his dismal showing blamed it on the fact that over the past four years he has seldom been challenged as he surrounded himself with “yes men” both in the Admin and mainstream media. As such, he was out of practice and on the odd occasion he was challenged he simply walked out of a press conference or bloviated until he could call on a friendly with the canned questions.

It is patently clear that if challenged, as was evident in his interview with the Spanish network or occasionally by Jake Tapper or the Fox guy he becomes irritated, petulant and very angry and moves quickly to change the subject. Last Wednesday he could not do that…he had to face the music for 90 minutes. The RNC should hammer the message…in today’s world there are many leaders and groups that are hostile to the US and cannot be addressed with a hug and good word. I would stress to the US voter, using his spokes people’s own words that President Obama cannot deal with being confronted. Even the Harvard mouse Krugman, tried to spin that President Obama does not like controversy and is the great healer. What a joke….he is the most divisive President ever. President Obama has also shown weakness when dealing with world leaders. As simple message…In today’s increasingly volatile world with highly visible hatred for the US, “DO YOU WANT A STRONG LEADER WHO HAS SHOWN THROUGHOUT HIS CAREER HE CAN TAKE THE HEAT, ADDRESS DIFFICULT CHALLENGES AND WORK SUCCESSFULLY WITH ALL PARTIES TO GET THINGS DONE OR A BULLY, CAPITULATOR, DIVIDER WHO CAVES WHEN CHALLENGED TO LEAD THE COUNTRY?” Any voter who would vote for President Obama except those who want the handouts, are in effect setting this country up for years of misery and constant threats from outside. Even those who want the handouts should realize that eventually you run out of people to tax, people who will lend you money or ink to print more money and that their best hope is a party that prizes free enterprise, the rule of law and strong economic growth. I believe a message that focused on leadership using his own people’s words and actions to tell the truth, should be an immediate dis-qualifier for another four years.

Where in the world were the parents of these students? If they knew that any organization was going to be visiting a high school campus and filling their children’s heads with ‘anything,’ parents should have known what, when and where! Teachers above all should know how democracy works and it isn’t through Democrat or Republican intimidation of our young ones. As for the ‘former teacher’ who entered the schools under false pretense, she needs to be hauled off, booked and tried for fraud – The whole gaggle of Obama’s organization needs to learn a lesson from all of this.

      Just one remark.
Parents are not always informed in advance of all visitors in classrooms, just like we are not informed about the political convictions of the teachers themselves!
Those teachers are the main indoctrinators these days!
As parents, do we read all books our kids use in classrooms these days? The real scandal is how history is being distorted in those books, to color communism and socialism in a much more positive light these days than happened in my school days!

In this particular case in FL, parents found out after the fact, and did bring it out into the open, so that we now know what went on in these Florida schools.

If one recalls, approximately 3 years ago, under the guise of “education”, President Ovomit via the internet addressed schools across the country. I, at that, time complained to the local School Superintendent that this was nothing more than a valed “campaign speech” directed at those students who by 2012 would have graduated and have voting rights. The superintendent did at least after this complaint make the session voluntary with parental permission required. I was amazed at how many parents would not give permission thankfully. And once again the tactics of the liberal left are after the minds of the youth through this not so valed attempt of “voter education/registration”.
